The "standard" you're trying to beat depends on venue type. You want to stand out as much as possible while still being "standard". Standing out in any other way makes you out of place. Even at cheaper venues and dive bars I really don't see guys looking like bums getting ass. I don't think being suited down would actively hurt your game, especially if you have a good story to tell or have a legit high status job where you have to dress that way.

I think well dressed never ever harms. I You have to be able to pull it off though. If you are wearing a suite and you are 20 years old and at an American campus divebar...I can definitely see some inconsistency.

Overall, if you are a professional, 25 years old or older, a suite never goes wrong, especially in a large city.


PS: Why people keep saying rolling DOLO rather than rolling SOLO? is Dolo some hip/slang American twist of the real term? please enlighten the foreigner.

Relevant for the PUA who isn't young: if you're suited-down, another thing you'll need to consider is that it increases your odds of being perceived as too far outside of a young woman's age group. Dolo is how I fly 90% of the time. Most of my friends are already coupled up or just a bit "slower paced" that I am, to put it diplomatically.

I wear suits half the time for work, I go out often in them. They work, but most young girls can't tell good quality from bad. They work wonders on cougars and the 'creme da la creme' of women, if you get what I mean.

Tim above makes a good point. The trick is to find a look that says "sharp dressed bad boy" instead of pure douche bag. You can do this in a suit, but not one you would necessarily wear to the big meeting. The black ones mad for night life by "brand names" work well here, especially if you accessorize the look right. If you are losing out to a hipster, there was probably something else wrong. You may have "over-gamed" her.

Yes, Dolo is the urban slang version, popular in late 80s, early 90s rap songs.

I definitely saw a lot of this when I was younger. It isn't so much guys that are rebels, but guys who are near the top of whatever niche crowd they roll with, and the girls tell themselves that's the "type" of guy they want. When I was in high school it tended to be wiggerish drug dealer types who looked like something out of a Limp Bizkit video. Although none of these girls seemed to be the hottest. They were maybe slightly above average at best and you could tell they were going to be single mommies hitting a dead end by their mid 20s (history proved me right on many of them).

I think thegmanifesto made a pretty good post awhile back on his site about how many of the hottest younger girls still want guys with the more traditional masculinity and power. I haven't really seen hipsters or drama club dudes rolling with really hot girls. I've been consistently getting cockblocked when rolling dolo and talking to a girl who's out with her friends. I usually try and entertain the whole group for a while before isolating the one I want but this doesn't seem to be stopping them from stepping in and fucking me over. What strategies do you guys use to stop this from happening? Talk to the group longer before going for the isolation? Escalate fast with the girl I'm after so she'll shoo her friends off when they come over to block me?

I was about to post a thread on this topic, but I'm glad I used the search feature and found this first.

I've been increasingly preferring to go dolo in my attack missions. I find that as I get older and wiser, few cats out there can really keep up. I have good friends, but a lot of them honestly aren't keen on this game shit like I am. My whole life is structured around these principles. It is my life.

I'm all about building a fly wardrobe, pulling down cheese, rolling immaculately in dope spots, traveling the world, working out (deadlifts, squats, kettlebells, jumping rope, rower, boxing), approaching and slaying high quality chicks, and gaining knowledge.

I can't be slowed down, so I'm left with only one option these days, going for dolo.

That said, I am always down to link up with like-minded cats and raiding a spot like a Seal Team 6 operation.

I don't know too many people who "love" going out alone on a regular basis.
Most don't plan it ,sometimes you just find yourself at a loose end.

BUT if you don't have friends to go out with on a particular night ,or you need to make more friends or meet girls, staying at home won't improve your situation.
You don't meet people hiding away in your living room.
I've done that when depressed and it's just led to more depression and the same situation.

Sooner, rather than later ,you need to take the initiative /action and make the moves,even if it's an uncomfortable feeling.
It's what you do and not what you feel that makes the difference to your circumstances.
I believe taking the action builds the confidence too...if you wait for the confidence to do something you'll be waiting ad infinitum.


That's the difference between the Hero and the Coward both might feel the same fear or anxiety, but one acts differently than the other ,and will have a different result usually.

This guy is quite informative on the risk of making the approach as opposed to the consequences Not doing anything.

Im only 19 so i only go to parties.. i have gone out in the past by myself and it was a lil tough mentally wise.. but i believe my first real breakthrough of manhood was when i wadsalkin down the stre3 with no clue what to do.. i just starred talking to a girl who was walkin next to me and said she was foin to a party but it was a irthday thing(small). Sio i kinda just kept walkin but notef where th place was and i kinda just wait3d till somd group if ppl walked by and i just went in after them.. came in lookin f- in my leather ja ket and just played some beer pong with a chick as a partner so i wafmed into the mood and just startef talkin to ppl. Hell i even sang happy birthday at one point. So wha5 the point... right? I didnt know anyone at all.

I'm only 19 so I go to parties.. I have gone out in the psat by myself and it was pretty tough on me because I'm not used to going into a venue by myself.(despite going clubbing in Prague by myself at least there I have an excuse as to why I'm dolo).
I have gone solo to parties but they were all crowded and honestly at that point it doesn't take much skill to just kind of drink, dance, piss outside, repeat, etc. and easy to say your friends are on the other side.

Now I was walking around trying to find some party on a Saturday night(by myself I should add); and as I was walking 2 girls and a guy were walking next to me. So I chatted up one of the chicks with some small talk and she said she's going to a party and told me where it is. Didn't really invite me explicitly and said it was a small birthday party for some kid.
So I walked around a bit and then decided to go back to that place. Saw some people walking towards the house so I just stood in front of the place fake-calling on my phone making it look like I was waiting for someone to open the door. They proceeded to walk in and I just followed right behind them.
Didn't know anyone. Sang happy birthday to some kid I didn't know.
There were about 25 people only. I hopped in line for beer pong and asked some girl to be my partner and from there it was easy. Just having a good time and laughing and just talking to people. People see you socializing so they just assume you know someone.
That was a pretty good breakthrough and I think it's the next step to alpha-ness.

As for what this guys says in the video, being a formerly shy person myself I can say I think my AA and fear had less to do with the girl rejecting me and more to do with society rejecting me. If we were alone in a room and I approached her and got rejected, I really wouldn't care one bit. But if some else SAW her reject me, someone I didn't know or that meant something to me, that'd be a whole different thing. It's the rejection from society which guys fear, the public display of humiliation.

How do you possibly overcome that? Saying "fuck the world" is destructive and counter productive, but caring about what the world thinks too much is also counter productive. It's that middle ground that most guys have trouble finessing.

It all depends on how you CONVEY it. E.g. "I have no friends.. will you be my new best friend.. " (in a very playfully confident but exaggerated tone).

I used to travel across the US a lot for work so had to roll solo.. aka dolo.

Easiest true things I've said..
- New to the city.. or visiting city .. just moved here..
- Just flew back from XYZ.. and wanted to step out..
.. waiting on the peeps..
- peeps canned on me cause they were feeling lazy..
- I like the adventure of meeting new people.. like when I was traveling solo in Europe.. when I'm not with people I know.. I have to talk to new people.. Make some amazing new connections & friends..

Funny that I havent tried:
- The fortune teller told me i'd be meeting someone ... ya da da.. so i stepped out.. (sarcastic playful smile)..

( I dont remember but i've used bunch of on the spot playful things)

If you find one of the above or similar reasons POSITIVE.. in YOUR HEAD.. then when you say it with full CONVICTION... people respect that you have the confidence to roll solo..

Main thing.. OWN yourself.. If you dont own yourself.. then in your mind you are TRYING ..to.. DEFEND.. and JUSTIFY..

If internally you know there's no need to defend or justify.. you'll own it and say it like it dont matter.. then it wont.

Just know that anything said from a DEFENSIVE standpoint will make your response / statement weak.

My biggest problem of rolling solo is running into people that I know. I live in a moderate sized city, but lately I cannot walk out of the door without running into someone I know. Some of them know exactly what I am doing if I am suited up, and the ones that aren't cool with me will try to DLV me on the spot. How do you deal with running into people that you know who you don't really want to see?

Venue bounce. Sounds like a hassle but its better to hit another place than getting DLVed and feeling uncomfortable in a place you keep persisting on.

Went solo again last night and AGAIN ran into people that I prefer to not meet in those settings who insisted on knowing where the rest of my guys are. I swear the god as a person gains notoriety, the world becomes smaller. Am I the only one with this problem or do all of you live in a metropolis?

As you can see in this thread, I used to be insecure and self-conscious about going out alone too. That all changed in a matter of weeks/months, however. Now I actually prefer going out alone and really only have a handful of friends I would consider hang with. I technically went out alone to my college winter dance last night..only got one number since I only did one serious approach..but danced with every cute girl in there..the same chicks who tried to play me before where the same ones trying to bite..its a wonder what getting dressed and social proof do..
