If you want to actively take part in the nightlife, and especially if you have the goal of getting one night stands, forget everything but the inner loop. Preferably go to Midtown or Downtown. Getting into Houston's nightlife and working in the Woodlands means that you will have to do plenty of commuting either way. The good news is if you live in the inner loop you will be going against the major flow of traffic on 45, because it goes in to downtown from the Woodlands in the morning and back out in the afternoon, you will be going the opposite way. I personally think 45 North is hell, but if it has to be done you have no choice. The Woodlands is an OK place, but personally unless I was a rich older guy that just went to work and came home to the family I wouldn't live there.

Katyzuela just means that there are tons of Venezolanas in Katy. I haven't been to Katy for a while, but where I live in West/Southwest Houston we are basically one of the closest areas in Houston to Katy. It is something like 20 minutes from my house to anywhere in Katy with no traffic, maybe 25 tops. There are Venezuelans all over where I live too. I've been on an approach mission for about a month and a half now, and where I live I have run into more Venezuelan women than any other group of Latina. Even more than Mexican and Mexican American combined.

Southwest and West Houston is a pretty large and diverse area. If you want to be active in nightlife this area isn't ideal, because you will be driving to the inner loop basically every time you want to party, and you will either have to use your car or try to go back to the girls place for a ONS. You can also find a hotel in the inner loop but I doubt you can find an hourly one and you are talking at least $100. Even if you find something for less than $100 a night online they will probably upsell you when you walk in, and you have the added pressure of convincing a girl to go to a hotel.

Basically Southwest Houston, as far as I understand things, breaks down into Alief and Sharpstown. Sharpstown is closer to the inner loop and I have only really spent time there to go boxing and driving through. As far as I know it is a predominantly Latino area, but when I say Latino I am talking poorer immigrants and their children. The most common sight I see around there are short Indian looking Mexican women going to Fiesta. I'm not saying there isn't much more to it, just what I've observed. Sharpstown also has a large part of Chinatown on a street called Bellaire. I have heard, but can't confirm, that Sharpstown has the largest group of sex offenders of any area in Houston. That has nothing to do with the ehtnicity of the people living there or what Trump said, I heard that comment about a decade ago.

Alief is the other major part of Southwest Houston. I would say it breaks down to something like 5-10% white (although in most parts that number is much lower), 10-15% Asian, 30% or so Latino, 30% black, and he rest South Asians and others. I am not sure of those figures, just what I'm guessing. Alief can be a little ghetto because a lot of poor people from other parts of Houston and other cities move there. There is however a few neighborhoods that have million dollars houses, particularly around what is called Royal Oaks. If you go to the part of Alief that is close to Westheimer between the Beltway and Highway 6 this is probably ground zero for meeting women from all over that I was talking about.

The Westside encompasses a few areas as well. The Energy District/Corridor is where there are a ton of oil companies and as a result you will find a more upper middle class feel. There are still people living in apartments in the area that aren't that expensive, but as far as West/Southwest Houston go this is one of the places you will want to check out for white girls and Europeans. This is a very pleasant area where you will feel totally safe walking any hour of night, but there is basically nothing to do.

The other area of the Westside would be Memorial, which is a street that goes from Highway 6 to basically downtown. This is basically the epicenter of the upper middle class and transitions to the epicenter of the rich in West Houston the further you go toward downtown.

The bad things about West and Southwest Houston, and I am not saying this simply because women have used these lines to get rid of me, is that I think most people come here to settle down. For that reason a lot of the girls are legitimately off the market. Also dealing with ghetto girls, while it may be not as bad as many would think, is actually not the most fun experience to be had. Also, while there are bars (mainly pubs) scattered around the area, they generally suck ass as far as gaming goes.

I am mainly big on West/Southwest Houston because I am from here. I used to hate it and complain about it, as well as Houston in general, but over the past years I've noticed that there are tons and tons of great looking women all over the place. I mean, I can't complain when I can go out of my house and find a big booty chick from pretty much any continent.

As oilrig mentioned, I probably would live in the inner loop though depending on what my life looked like.

Why someone would live in a million dollar home in Alief is beyond me. That's like being the king of the ghetto. But to each his own I guess.

I wouldn't live in the Woodlands, unless you like going to PTA events, Applebees, and living in cookie cutter homes with white moms. It's dead down there. There's a huge wealthy Mexican community around that area all the way to Willowbrook. It's straight up suburbia though, you would have to drive to hit up any place to party. If you commute there you would be driving against traffic and it would be a quick 40 minute drive. I used to reverse commute from Montrose to 45/Genoa (Ellington) and it was the shit, the highway was empty while the opposite way was jam packed.

The thing about the Inner Loop is that it's considered the "white area" of town. There's not much diversity supposedly. Fuck it though, all the fly bitches want to be in it. I would giggle/laugh all the time whenever I would meet with a girl and she would say "Well I live in [BFE/boring part of town] but I come here a lot". A lot of hoes will drive to town to party on the weekends. Living in the loop gives you the chance to stay, "lets go to my place, you can spend the night and head home in the morning" as opposed to her driving home at 2am.

If you're an younger Athlone McGinnis, Ivy League educated with model looks, then the loop will be better for you since you're more "exotic"...the only thing you will get in the Woodlands is people calling the cops on you because a black man is jogging around their street. Well, it happened to me in Montrose but I was walking at 130am in a wifebeater and boots so I guess that's different.

Make sure you check the location for those Galleria area apartments, that area can get ghetto really quick. Like 5-10 minutes away you will find some sketchy homes. Here's the updated list of apartment specials. I would say the thing about Houston is that people usually try to stay in their bubble. Memorial folks have CityCentre while the Energy Corridor folks stay there. Cypress people don't venture out of CyFall. If you live in the loop you will turn into a distance snob. Driving 30 minutes was the norm in Dallas for me. Once I moved here....if it's past Downtown, Rice Village, Rice Military (Washington), or Galleria...it's too far and I ain't driving out. Driving around here will take a toll on you since the streets are small and traffic jams up quickly, but it beats being stuck on the highway. Also, the best part about here is that you really don't have to worry about parking and if needed Ubers are 5-10 bucks. I used to fill up my car weekly, now it's 2-3 weeks. A lot of places are withing walking distance. I can vouch for The Westheimer, used to stay there....walking distance to Montrose cafe and bars, top restaurants, two pools, pool/poker room, lounge, biz room, gym, 4 courtyards. Bitches will compliment it. Also the staff is chill. Midtown and Washington bars are a 5 min drive/uber away. With your background I will def say that you can probably pull tail along Montrose cafes/bars on Westheimer.

Yes, Cle is the place to be for the meantime. Washington has strong pull for the post college (25-30) crowd, Thursday is the professional crowd (30+) for some reason at Concrete Cowboy and Kung Fu. Rice Village is kinda dead during the night, and Rice is not a yuge college. Midtown is poppin' but it's mostly kids who just graduated college and finally have some spending money so you might get bored of being there. Montrose is more of the hipster/artsy are but 10 years past its prime time. It used to be the gayborhood of H-Tine but all the faggots got gentrified (priced out) by the White yuppies....whose bitches will want you.

Edit: Axelrad is the shit though, love that spot. The Axelrad beer garden is pretty good as well, it's in Midtown I think close to the 3rd ward. If you're looking for cheap inner loop Houston. Stay in the Third Ward or "Near North Side". They're "up and coming areas" where it's somewhat cheap, appreciating quickly, but you will hear gunshots occasionally...just at nights though. You'll see your local corner dealer there too. It's close to UH so all the UH bitches will be staying nearby. There are some apartments near McGregor Park that's just down the street from UH.

Also, for cheap Inner Loop housing...you can rent a four-plex unit. It will be an older 2 bedroom 1 bathroom for 900-1200 a month or so. Craigslist might help but the best way to find them is to drive around the area and look for signs outside the homes that say "for lease". Also, the landlords are more chill and not as demanding. The bad news is that these units do not have central AC and you will have window units in your bedrooms and living room provided by your landlord.

If you have the chance, rent a room on AirBNB in different areas and feel the area out. Living and Galleria and driving to the Woodlands sounds like a bitch because you will have to take 610 to 45, and West Loop is congested as fuck as it is. For that commute I would find somewhere around I-45 so you can hop on and GTFO quickly.

I forgot to mention the Heights but it's an artsy area filled with 500K-1M+ homes where people move after living in Midtown and want to have a family. It's like a suburb...but artsy, full of hipster parents, organic food, soy boys that don't lift, craft beer, and that type of shit.

Also, random question: Why does everyone like to brag they work in "oil & gas" ? They don't say anything else as to what they actually do. Brah....every other muthafucka says this too! It doesn't make you stand out. It makes me think "this fucker thinks he's so special". If someone in San Francisco or NYC would say this, it would make me take interest in them....but in a city where O&G is the dominant industry, it makes you look lame because a lot of people work in it too. That's like going to a hospital and say "I'm a nurse", nah bitch....really?

So a few places that I've visited recently that are an absolute gold mine. I'm going to be captain obvious for a second with some of these.

1. UH. I went there this week and even though it was summer it had so many very attractive girls. It has been so long since I've been in college that I forgot how nice most students are. Like on my side of town one of those parking lot shopping cart collector guys yelled at a customer for touching his carts, and I walked around UH and everyone I talked to told me to have a good day. Wow haha.

2. City Centre. This is the hot spot right now as far as the Westside goes. The couple of times I went there recently it was packed with tons of hot women. Like I'm talking I saw dozens of 8+ in a matter of a couple of hours. I've really only been twice for dates so I wasn't able to approach or even really scope out the dynamic, but this is a place worth checking out. Also, it isn't all just couples like you'd assume. While I don't think I saw too many lone girls I did see several in groups of 3 or so.

3. Museum of Fine Arts on Thursday. I've heard this place is free on Thursdays. I go inside but was driving around just before rush hour. There were lots of hot girls walking around dressed well and with full on make up. I don't know if it was just the area itself, that the museum is like that regularly, or if it had to do with free admission on that day, but I liked what I saw.

Also fuck Midtown. It's alright to party there hence my recommendation of staying around Bagby, but you might have some really shitty luck and nights if you limit yourself only to there.

Also Midtown is only good if you know where the party is that night especially on week days. I only pop into places where I know the quality is bar a few places I really like. You'll have better luck around Rice just going out(and by extension West U) or near Washington Avenue.

Even then it pays to know where the party is. Houston is a city of low expectations if you're a weekend warrior or just visiting. I don't trust the words of anyone who just goes out on weekends or of people just stopping in.

Corollary: You can always visit Clè or Spire for consistently good quality of course good luck staying inside if you spam approach and do some PUA bullshit. At places like that I just know which chicks will or won't fuck me. Don't have the room to play the field unless I get invited to the after party.

After living in midtown for the past 3 years, the days of midtown being the number 1 party spot in Houston are over. The last few months have been much more quiet than normal. I feel downtown nightlife is much more busier than midtown these days. I have noticed in a pickup in washington and the heights.

Comte said it best a few pages ago, Houston night life changes quite frequently. Midtown is still for good day game as there are plenty of luxury apartments. However, there have been more restaurants/bars shutting down the last few months. Sage County being the latest one.

A couple of questions about Houston:

1. Is the Houston Museum of Natural Science worth a visit for gaming or is this geared toward families as I suspect? Others have mentioned the Fine Arts museum but I am curious as to what time the women tend to come out for this whether in the afternoon or early evening?

2. What are good restaurants during happy hour times for gaming in the Downtown area or just great restaurants one should consider in this area?

3. Of the bars on this list (http://www.houstonpress.com/music/the-10...-9620596), which are the ones worth visiting for game? In another thread, Okra and Nightingale were mentioned. I was lookin at pictures of these bars and several seem very niche. I don't know what to make of Conservatory and The Dirt Bar looks like it has potential as a dive bar but may discourage women, I don't know.

4. Daygame places mentioned seem to be all over the map. Where would be some good places near or in Downtown? Does Houston have a specific spot where the tourists tend to go like the Dealey Plaza in Dallas?

Can't comment on downtown daygame as downtown wasn't so happening when I used to live in Houston. Tourists in the area would just go to the Galleria, Rice Village, Montrose, MoFA, Amon Carter, the Rothko, River Oaks shopping center, etc.

TIOT, I live and a work downtown and also go out a lot in this area. Your best bet is to hit up Main Street on the weekends and you will see high quality ass walking around in waves. There’s not much nightlife downtown besides the Main st bars.

You can walk up and down Main Street and just see which bars have the best girls. But here are my top places to go to downtown, with the best girls: The Commoner/Boulvardier, Boots N Shoots, Live Bar Rooftop, Pastry War, Bovine and Barley, Okra. There’s not much going on during the week, but on the weekends I promise you if you poke your head into one of these places around midnight you will see some absolute dime pieces wearing short skirts and heels. The great thing is all of these bars are right next to each other so if one sucks then you can just bounce around.

If you like some fine latina/South American girls then head to Live bar on the rooftop. If hot slutty white girls twerking to rap music is more your thing then you can’t go wrong at Boots N Shoots and The Commoner/Boulevardier.

If you’re looking for some happy hour spots, I’ve always liked Phoenicia/MKT Bar. Lots of cute young professional girls that work nearby congregate there after work and drown their sorrows with wine

The best park for day game with the best women is hands down Memorial park. This is the most popular running trail in Houston and you will see hot girls jogging around there every single day of the week at all times of the day.

Edit: Stay away from Dirt bar unless you like grungy hole in the wall Rocker type bars. The girls that tend to hangout here are your goth or heavy metal type chicks. However, famous rock bands and musicians are known to hangout at dirt bar after their shows, i.e. Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters. Would Be a good place to go just to say you’ve been and have a drink and check out the surroundings.

Thanks to all that helped. Here, are my observations from my recent visit to Houston:

1. Houston has a pretty good bar scene downtown with a wide range of bars. In terms of game, the ones that stood out to me were Bovine & Barley, Live Sports & Bar, and Okra in terms of numbers and the ease of approaching. Boots and Shoots and another bar right near it also had numbers. Most of the bars on these streets are right by each other where you can jump around to see which one you like. But the one thing I did have trouble finding was a nice lounge with booths that one could use for a venue change or escalation point. This surprised me although there probably is at least a nice jazz place somewhere that I missed. In terms of restaurants with some game opportunities downtown, Moonshiners Bar has an outdoor patio and Batanga seems to have some potential on the right night. During the day Local Foods attracts a good number of womenand the Brown Bag Deli and another open patio restaurant next to it on Main Street seemed like good possibilities.

Outside of downtown, I found the Axelrad bar to be another fun spot as others have mentioned. There are opportunities to game in multiple places there as you can talk to girls at the pizza place next door, at the tables outside or inside at the bar. A good place to visit on a Thursday night as it still gets good numbers.

2. In terms of daygame, I found the intel on Memorial Park to be the best. A real nice park that offers plenty of opportunities to approach. In terms of downtown, I was surprised that downtown during the lunch hour was not a better spot for daygame along Main Street. I would have expected seeing more female tourists and more women working downtown walking around. Elsewhere, the Galleria seemed to offer the best opportunities in terms of numbers. The Rice Village was a bit of a disappointment because of limited opportunities to approach. However, I went on a Friday afternoon where I am sure it would get better numbers on the weekend.

3. Hate to say this but Houston has a serious homeless and panhandling problem. It is remarkable that it is tolerated the way it is. It definitely has a negative effect on what could be for the downtown area. You will get solicited aggressively and several times just walking down the street. So you will need to be vigilant because of this and that there are a number of folks who are showing clear signs of mental health issues.

4. Growing pains. Traffic and the seemingly bizarre design of some roads can be a nightmare especially for new visitors. It appears Houston far outgrew the expected constraints of a number of its roads. Also, finding ATMs at night can be a challenge downtown so plan ahead. Turns out there is an ATM at Main Food Store but the CVS downtown closes early.

5. Restaurant recommendation for Fabian's Latin Flavors. This is a new place that opened up on Main Street. It has food dishes from Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, etc. The food is pretty good and it draws a nice international crowd. Also, the owner is out there hustling for people to come to his restaurant which is always cool to see. Would be cool to see this restaurant succeed.

Trust me on this one. Go to Woodrow’s in Midtown for the turtle races on thursdays. This is where all the hot young professionals and some college girls congregate for the weekly turtle race viewing. It’s one of the few sure spots on Thursday nights in Houston. A lot of girls that live in midtown are new to the city and in Houston for work, looking to meet new friends (dick).

After the turtle races people just tend to bounce around to the nearby midtown bars, so just follow the crowd: Pub Fiction, Irish Cowboy, shot bar, drinkery etc. Houston can be hit or miss on thursday, but Woodrow’s Midtown will always have a good crowd.
