OKC is dead. Unless you live in a huge, I mean huge city and even then your successes will be outliers.

I only went on it a few days ago for a few hours for the first time in 4 years, there used to be 10x more girls online, fatties off the chain, pictures of girls self-harming, lists of suicidal thoughts, if it wasn't bad enough 4 years ago, now it's like poosy Chernobyl.

There's a lesson here. 4 years ago, I thought, nah, it couldn't possibly get worse; there just isn't any room to drop that much lower. Lesson: it can always get worse, much worse.

Agree. I hadn't logged in for a couple of years. Logged in and shit was scary. The most horrible looking females I've ever seen. Scattered with the odd 6 (maybe 1 in 10). I browsed some of the bigger cities and it was slightly better, but I'm assuming most of the talent has moved to Tinder, Bumble etc.

Just another reminder to be careful with Facebook and Whatsapp. Had a girl add me as a friend last night on Facebook - I remember going on a pretty unsuccessful date with her about three years ago. I accepted the request and we've been chatting.

I've noticed the same degradation over just two years. Tinder has better girls but it's just as useless in my area, women obviously use it as merely another attention-whoring platform.

Happens to me a lot. Facebook creeps through your phone contacts and suggests you friends, usually girls you've met online in the past. What I usually do is try and beat Facebook to it - so as soon as you add a gal to your Whatsapp, find her on Facebook and block her. That way you'll never be suggested to her. If you want to add her later just unblock her and send a request. You're welcome.

POF is horrible in my area! If I had to guess 80% of the female users are single mothers. Also a ton of whales on there too! Then to top it all off it limits the age range of female users you can contact!!!

I'll still use it when I'm doing an online blitz. But damn there's very little wheat and a ton of chaff. OKCupid actually has better talent in my area. But the numbers are so low that you'll run out of targets very quickly. The best strategy is to log on once a month, blast new users that you're interested in with a spam message, and not go hunting on OKC again until next month.

I haven't used OKCupid properly for 2.5 years. Logged in today to have a look. It is amazing how much it has fallen. There are only about 20 girls online in the whole of fucking London. Jesus fucking christ. Women have all deserted it for the attention whoring apps. Just in the space of three years traditional online dating is more or less dead in the west. You just have to shake your head at this shit and move on.

Redesigning the website into a Facebook lookalike hasn't helped keep these dumb fucks on it. It is no longer trendy or sufficient enough for modern attention whoring.

The swipe feature on Tinder has completely destroyed them and they could never compete on mobile phone attention whoring. Besides, why would a 19 year old sign up to this when she could sign up to SA and become a high class whore meeting the most high status guy in the land?

Just looking at the posts above this certainly appears to be a theme. A real shame. I still have fond memories of some of the girls I met from this.

Agreed. Nothing you can do with those. The ones who are even mildly interested will give out their number.

This applies for any form of dating really: if a girl is no trouble, doesn't flake, turns up to dates on time, doesn't cocktease you etc., then that is because she is interested. The problem is sorting through all the timewasters. Online just increases the timewasters by like 100x.

At each step you have to make her get off the fence. Is she in or out? This is more stressful for most guys than playing it safe and not leading clearly because of fear of rejection if she says no, but it means that you can often get stuck with timewasters who just wanted attention and would never have been interested no matter what you had done. There's a big difference between a girl being nervous to come home with you (but she wants to) and a girl who has no intention of coming home with you. The only way to find out is to try to lead her there.

But not from OKChernobyl. Chicks on there are like mutants that really look like they were born in the suburbs of Pripyat. Jesus christ.

We were supposed to meet on Sunday evening. She let me know a few hours before (but only when I prompted) that she had a barbecue to go to. I asked when she knew about this barbecue. The night previous, of course. But she couldn't let me know the night previous because she had had a "crazy day" - even though we had been texting the very night before for an hour.

She did ask to reschedule, but fuck that.

There's no other option for a man with dignity but to delete and block.

Correct decision. Red flags left and right:
1. You already had an unsuccessful date, why would this one be different?
2. Her not remembering you (either serial dater or severe case of Alzheimer's, I think we both know which)
3. Her rude and flaky behavior. Unless she was profusely apologetic about cancelling last minute, then she just doesn't give a shit about you. A girl who's into you always makes it obvious.

I see...Fair enough, but all the more reason to be explicit. By texting and "waiting to see" she's sort wasting your time anyway.,,right?

In the past I actually stated "Hey I live life in the real world not on my ph...too busy."

For a 2nd date I personally would just say "Ok meet me at XYZ Pub Sunday. At 7pm" :with XYZ being a half block from my place...(not she needs to know that until after she's had a drink or two)
