Poloniex or Kraken exchange.

Poloniex has a $2000USD equivalent daily withdraw limit unless you send documents to verify your identity and there is currently an influx of new users and long wait times to be verified, so only deposit there if you are doing small amounts or happy having your money tied up in the exchange while you withdraw $2000 USD per day.

I haven't tried Kraken myself so not sure if they have similar issues.

Thanks. I've signed up to kraken and waiting for verification.

I'm looking to buy up speculative CC's with the intention of coming back to them in one year's time, I'm prepared to lose it all. I will likely purchase a portfolio of 10k. Any suggestions?

Maidsafecoin but keep them for five instead of one year and see what happen

I do agree that this ongoing bullishness is greater than we anticipated, and it is feeling that we are possibly going into the upwards curve of an exponential s curve in which we have gradual, gradual, gradual and then steep... makes me a little nervous.

In that regard, if have $100 a day, that might be o.k... and kind of sustainable.. but if we get $300 to $500 in a day, we may have to sell a bit too - but I am nervous about that, too. I never want to sell too much.

Actually, yesterday, I did a local bitcoin's buy transaction that was towards the upper end of the price spike from $2240 to $2300, and I ended up buying an amount that is a bit less than 1% of my portfolio for $2173. I kept considering sell some of it or to stagger some sell orders, but with so much upwards pressure, I decided to wait it out.. which seems to have worked pretty will with prices now bounding in the lower $2400s.

So, I stick to my earlier suggestion that breaking through $2500 will cause $3k to $5k as decently likely... $3k pretty likely, $4k decent and $5k a bit more difficult. I really don't think we can break through $5k without a significant correction... but let's see?

Fuck this guys if BTC reaches $10k I can escape Anglo women right now no slaving for peanuts. $2.5k is good but these fucking Altcoins have gone up way too much like Dogecoin 15x in the past 3 months are you kidding me? The least BTC can do is reach 5 figures FFS. I'm a frugal man I don't need much. As long as I've got a vagina on my dick and a vagina/asshole combo meal on my face I'm good. Let's go BITCOIN!

I don't know how frugal I am? I was kind of thinking that $3k per month of passive income would be decent in order to live in some less expensive areas, whether that is some SEA location or maybe some locations in latin america... I am a bit more inclined towards SEA... But, if you are frugal, like you say, then maybe $1.5k per month of passive income would be sufficient?

Not trying to shit on Bitcoin in its own thread, but I'd recommend taking a look at some of the proof-of-stake coins, like Ethereum, Stratis, Waves, and (soon-to-be) Particl.

These coins don't use mining to create new tokens; instead, users "stake" their coins by storing them in a node on their computer, and in exchange for processing transactions and helping to secure the network they receive interest on their holdings.

Yearly interest on a rapidly-appreciating asset; it's truly the passive income dream.

I know, I know. I have been called bitcoin biased for a while - but I thought that bitcoin's proof of work was the most innovative solving of the Byzantine general's problem to have secure trustless and decentralized immutable value storage and transfer?

Maybe I am being too denigrating of POS, but proof of stake comes off as a kind ponzi scheme that depends on payments by attracting more customers in order to pay the interest to the earlier adopters? Really, I am not trying to be denigrating, but those POS systems are not really innovative in any kind of meaningful way. .and the POW system of Bitcoin is truly innovative in that it is truly decentralized and has incentive structures already built in to ensure the security of the assets and the system through the proof of work..

The POS ends up playing out as some kind of a quasi-centralized system, no? even if they are trying to act as if they are decentralized, the POS ends up causing power amongst a small group of early adopters?
Maybe it will work out, so in that regard, there could be some justification to buy into some of those POS systems - even though I still consider BTC to be the most innovative of all of the blockchains by how it was initially structured and designed to solve those human factors (surely not all factors, but really a considerable amount of them.. and that remains a central feature of BTC not easy to change... and in that sense truly innovative)

Kraken is the same. 2k USD limit unless you send them documents. They say it takes 48hrs.

/biz on 4chan is hyping up mooncoin. Any good? Seems like too many shitcoins with no use. Only BTC and ETH seem like the Google and Amazon that will survive this bubble, ofc i could be wrong. CC that can be exchanged for money are the one's with the highest value it seems
booshala 路 2017-05-25 01:18:00 路 #4321
In my experience Kraken has been terrible. Took them 8 days to verify my account to level 3 after their flash crash debacle, now I've been waiting another 4 days so far with my fiat withdrawal still in transit. Once this clears, I'm going to stay away from that exchange for good.

GDAX has been much faster with fiat withdrawals. Obviously there isn't any fiat trades on Poloniex, but getting verified to $7000 daily limit is relatively easy and very fast (30 minutes).

I'm trying to get verified to 7k daily on poloniex, but it's been three weeks and still pending.

Sending money through narrow straws gets old fast.

On a positive note, BTC is only a little over $300 removed from the lower end of JJG's prediction of 3-5k. I'll be the first to admit to being skeptical... and I'll be the first to happily eat crow for lunch when (not if) it hits 3k. +1 for JJG

That is very strange. It took less than 10 minutes for them to approve me to Level 2 Verification from when I submitted address etc.

Did you input the address that is on your DL/ID? You want to use whatever address is most likely to be in the third party data mines that they compare against.

I would contact support and ask, because three weeks isn't normal. Should have been accepted or rejected by now.

Does it allow you to try for level 3 verification (SSN + ID scan)? If so, you could just skip the other and go directly to that.

Depends what you're thinking of man. $1,500 is easily enough to live very comfortably in cities like Cebu, with no luxuries forgone. Bangkok, probably the same but maybe a bit more. Longer rentals, routines, rotations of mLTRs, less tourist pricing all drive cost of living down further. Maybe $2000 is doable in Medellin but with a long-term rental $1500 still can do it. You can live in cities in EE for $1500 a month, heck $1000 a month easily.

Or are you talking about passive income to continue growing your capital so you take a wad of cash (or a private key lol) to the grave as well?

Anyway BTC is officially just broken out past its multi year lows, so a doubling would be a relatively tame new "top" if the train stops now. If you look at how price has behaved in breakouts before, they have been exponential. Maybe it won't be as big this time because BTC's price is much higher than before, but a $10k spike is typical Bitcoin behavior.

Thanks CleanSlate..

I think that I have been rounding the $3k to $5k price range regarding the next bubble (post 2013) because that price range seemed to have a decent amount of additional value beyond the long standing 2013 ATH of $1,163. So $3-5k seems to be a kind of decent bounce point.. to pump it there and then to take profits from there.

The real world actual dynamics tends to play out differently in several ways than anticipated - sure some factors are kind of within the realm of expectations, but really some of the specific dynamics of some of the pumps have been surprising to me - and could possibly cause bitcoin to play out in a bit more bullish manner than what had seemed reasonable

I mean until recently going beyond $5k in this pump had not seemed reasonable to me (and still seems to be a bit on the high side), but the unreasonable status of the combined market cap of the other coins causing almost $90billion in value "on paper" could cause such a overshooting of BTC expectations even beyond the normal expected unexpected overshooting... hahahaha. .. a riddle.

The riddle is that all these cryptos play off of each other and kind of pump together.. and probably the pump of the alts help to camouflage bitcoin to some extent.

Even though we have so much upwards price momentum making $3k seem easy peasy, $4k seem reasonable and $5k a kind of longer shot within the range, no way am I going to count any eggs before they are actually hatched....

At the same time, at this moment, the momentum seems to be against the bears.. and the trend is your friend and the bears are seeming to have quite a few difficulties providing us with a meaningful correction.. despite dumping pretty decent quantities of coins, and the price continues to bounce back up, trickle up and even shoot up..

They don't have much control and the exponential portion of the curve could still be at its early stages which could cause even a bit more than any of us really believe to be realistically possible.. that is the metcalfes networking effect. Here's one post on the topic, but there are others, too:

https://www.finextra.com/blogposting/126...ed-bitcoin

Even though $2,000 was breached less than a week ago, it is seeming less and less realistic to even get a reasonable 25% correction down to that level or below...

On a personal level, I really would like to have a decent correction.. but I can also live without it too.. and just suffer with everyone else who wished they would have bought more or had not sold as many because I have been taking some measures and kind of able to maintain my stash at 90% BTC... which is giving me more and more dollars stacking up (and feeling like not being used), the higher and higher the price goes.

I found an interesting phone app called Blockfolio, which keeps track of your various different coins and tracks the total net worth against your chosen fiat over time.

Looks like you have to manually input every trade, so not ideal for big traders.

GDAX and Coinbase are the same owners. They split into two named entities about a year ago, and some people thought they were going to split - but has not happened yet.

Even though the fees and the interface is different, they should offer the same assets on each platform... just sometimes your options are different on each platform... such as margin trading... or how you can hold the assets, ease of converting is much better on the exchange.

I had plotted out some kind of plan at one point, but I am not really talking about taking money to the grave (even though we cannot really know for sure how long we have), I am still thinking about an emergency cushion.. So having a $3k income would allow for living off of $2,500 and having a $500 cushion to invest or just to save for emergencies...

I have never really been the kind of person that lives paycheck to paycheck. Such habits would be way too stressful to me, and probably more in my older age as compared when I was in my 20s.

Yeah, this is a bit of a puzzle. When the price goes above expectations, then we all have to adjust our considerations of what is within new reasonable expectations based on what had just happened....

There surely are scenarios in which $10k might seem to be within this pump, especially if seg wit were to get implemented...,..

because right now, it still is looking like seg wit is having some difficulties getting sufficient signaling.
