Without any evidence of such, you seem to continue to engage in a kind of disingenuous conversation to fail and refuse to take me at my word that I am not trying to sell anything. It remains a bit ridiculous that I continue to repeat such, yet I would hate to be accused of admitting to any of your accusations merely for lack of response. hahahaha..

Anyhow, you continue to accuse me of doing exactly the practice and behavior that you are obviously engaging on an ongoing basis, which is attempting to pump your anti-bitcoin philosophy on other guys in this thread.

In other words, you and your behavior seems to be tied to a practice of trying to sell something and to persuade, and mine is not.

I continue to assert that I am here to share information about bitcoin (and I guess as a side-tangent, to respond to your ongoing stupid-ass and non-substantive attacks, and deviations into ridiculousness.... hahahaha).

If someone wants to get into bitcoin, and then have no bitcoin at all, then there is some need to assess their situation first. How much do they want to invest and what are there other investments. If they are not sharing information with you about their circumstances, and they just say that they want to invest, then at that point you might ask them how much would they like to invest and over what period of time and try to figure out their plan.

In any event, I frequently will suggest that guys start out with a kind of dollar cost averaging and spread their investment over a considerable period of time... maybe 6 months to a year, but give me some kind of scenario first, and then we can go from there.. in order to figure out what I am "selling," if anything.

BitFagnex no longer accepting bank deposits, and froze USD withdrawals. They withdrew their lawsuit with Wells Fago last week. Rumors are they facing solvency issues and could go under. Potentially very bad, everything could dip.

Good buying opportunity if it does....

O.k. It is true that Bitfinex had a lawsuit regarding wells fargo freezing withdrawals, and it pulled that lawsuit.

It is also true that bitfinex has frozen some of its deposits because their Taiwanese bank has refused to process those wire transfers.

Bitfinex is not hiding any of this and they are announcing these matters as they unfold.

https://www.bitfinex.com/posts

You "rumors" as your evidence of shenanigans - and therefore sounds like you are merely trying to spread FUD.

For a variety of reasons we could get some bitcoin price correction, and even when people play on these kinds of "rumors," but Bitfinex may be able to remedy some of the situation too....

But instead you seem to want to assume that Bitfinex is acting in bad faith or that there is some kind of bad behaviors?

Are you sure that you are not Satoshi with a second account? Hahahahahahaha.

In early August 2016, Satoshi was more than 138% confident that Bitfinex was going to run away with the 119k "hacked" bitcoins, that they were not going to recover, and bitcoin was going to fail, and he shorted bitcoin based on those beliefs... did not happen, and did not even come close to happening like he tried to get other RVF guys to join in on his bet.

Similar circumstances here. You seem to be wanting to read more malevolence into these circumstances than the evidence (or facts) will support.

The fact of the matter is that Bitfinex has been doing a very decent job of taking reasonable and innovative measures to attempt to protect its reputation.. and furthermore, there may be more realistic obstacles in terms of the geography and jurisdiction of Bitfinex (I believe that they are in Hong Kong) - that causes Bitfinex a bit more necessity to "dance" around - as compared with some other bitcoin exchanges that have been able to establish and maintain bank relationships.

In other words, given the totality of circumstances, I doubt that bitcoin prices are anymore poised for collapse than they are for continuing up... except maybe perhaps the fact that a "natural" correction might be needed since we have spent a majority of the past five months with daily weighted average prices above $1000.... so yeah, we could get a correction in bitcoin, but likely not for the Bitfinex is corrupt (and not solvent) reasons that you seem to be falsely misleading and stressing.

And, I agree with any of your suggestion (if you are making such) to buy the dips... I don't know the bottom, but buying in the lower $1,000s or anything below $1,000 is likely going to be decent. If you are expecting lower prices based on these "facts" or any of the other FUD information, you are maybe too pie in the sky. Of course, I am not waiting for those kinds of "low" prices to buy, in the event that BTC prices drop.. Largely, my BTC buy orders begin at $1,160-ish... hahahahaha... and I even have set buy orders close to $1,200 on bitfinex.. go figure?? (because I had some sell order fill on BFX in the $1,245 arena)

RE: The Bitcoin thread
What are you talking about? I cannot even read all your posts anymore, they are too long, they rely on too many in unlogical assumptions, and they are too argumentative.

I simply posted facts as a PSA to my fellow RVF members and you claim I'm spreading FUD? Huh?

Let's break it down.

I said Bitfinex is not allowing deposits and freezing withdrawals. True.

The "Taiwanese banks" are their operating bank accounts, it is not limited to taiwanese customers but all customers and all fiat.

I said they withdrew their lawsuit with Wells Fargo. True
You said I'm claiming they are acting in bad faith. Where did I say that?

They could go under and it could affect all coins. It hasn't happened yet, but it's possible.

Stop arguing with everything that people post that is not rosy, peachy flowers.

O.k. That seems to be on you, and you have raised variations of that point in your previous posts..

It seems to be that you are attempting to point fingers at me because either: 1) your comprehension difficulties or 2) your unwillingness to engage with substance.

I think that it could be more the second one, but if it were the first one, then maybe you could try harder?

(04-17-2017 06:53 PM)Armogan Wrote:  I simply posted facts as a PSA to my fellow RVF members and you claim I'm spreading FUD? Huh?

You posted some facts and in one of the ways, you characterized some of the facts by saying: "Rumors are they facing solvency issues and could go under. Potentially very bad,"

Yes... one thing is posting non-controverted facts and another thing is posting controverted facts and another thing is characterizing whatever facts that you posted (whether controverted or not). I believe that I was not contesting your facts, but instead controverting your characterization of some of the facts.

Hopefully, you can understand that there are differences between controverted facts, uncontroverted facts and characterization of facts (whether controverted or not)?

(04-17-2017 06:53 PM)Armogan Wrote:  Let's break it down.

I said Bitfinex is not allowing deposits and freezing withdrawals. True.

You said something like that, and your post speaks for itself, no? ...

In any event, Bitfinex's announcement describes the situation a bit better than your characterization in the first post, and your worse characterization in this second above sentence that leaves out some facts about the banks and the lawsuit, etc..

(04-17-2017 06:53 PM)Armogan Wrote:  The "Taiwanese banks" are their operating bank accounts, it is not limited to taiwanese customers but all customers and all fiat.

Those are new purported facts, so I don't know about that part, even though it could be true.. .maybe?

Maybe you could provide your reference for these new "facts?"

(04-17-2017 06:53 PM)Armogan Wrote:  I said they withdrew their lawsuit with Wells Fargo. True

yes.. you said that and I agreed.

(04-17-2017 06:53 PM)Armogan Wrote:  You said I'm claiming they are acting in bad faith. Where did I say that?

I did not phrase it like that, so if you are going to quibble about stupid-ass phraseology, then maybe you need to get the language correct that you are paraphrasing and/or what you are saying that I am saying?

Again.. my post speaks for itself, so it seems to get into a bit of a tangent to be recharacterizing things that were already said, unless it is relevant to some important point.

In any event:

You said: "Rumors are they facing solvency issues and could go under. Potentially very bad,"

And, I had said:

"you seem to want to assume that Bitfinex is acting in bad faith or that there is some kind of bad behaviors?"

In my post, I said other things too, so it seems that my post speaks for itself regarding what I said or did not say and how I said it, no? So, I am not sure about the purpose of saying what I said?

(04-17-2017 06:53 PM)Armogan Wrote:  They could go under and it could affect all coins. It hasn't happened yet, but it's possible.

Yes. Lots of things are possible, but some things are more possible and other things are less possible... and so I am saying that what you said is less possible because I do not think that you have sufficient facts and/or logic to back up what you said or the conclusions that you reached.

(04-17-2017 06:53 PM)Armogan Wrote:  Stop arguing with everything that people post that is not rosy, peachy flowers.

Did someone put you in charge regarding what and when RVF members can post or how they can post or whether they can be allegedly "argumentative?"

If you post something (or if someone else posts something), then I have the ability to exercise discretion regarding whether to respond or not to respond and if I chose to respond, then I retain discretion regarding how to respond. No?

RE: The Bitcoin thread
In one of my earlier posts, I had made a similar point to the below point made in the reddit post - that is even a small percentage of hashing power would be very secure, even if bitcoin were to fork into two or more blockchains.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comment...ould_have/

Bitcoin mining is largely premised on free-market concepts that miners are greedy - rather than political. I suppose that bitcoin could break, if the greedy premise does not win out.

RE: The Bitcoin thread
I found this interesting article about BTC, says a lot on the turmoil right now.

Bitcoin

I think a good play is to ride the waves, BTC had a good month, but I see it pulling back in the next few weeks or month as there are other things in the space that will pull money out of BTC and into other things.

Vitalik just created the repository for the Casper code, PoS, this is going to be huge. ENS will be released soon, metropolis, etc. Going to be an eventful summer.

GNT is near $.10 cents as we speak. Brass will be released in May, I'm calling it now $.20 cents by July. Good time to ride the waves that are about to happen. Other people should consider the same. Money will flow out of BTC and into other things.

Do you understand what bitcoin.com is? It is a propaganda site created by Roger Ver, and those sabatoging whiner big blockers.

By the way, a few days ago, Zoom had already posted a link to that purported PSA, and I had responded to his post.

Yeah? You, Satoshi, big blocker nutjobs and alt coin pumpers have been saying this since $200 - hoping for bitcoin to fall...

Sure, sooner or later you are going to be correct, and sooner or later bitcoin prices are going to fall, but there have been a lot of folks misled into believing the bullshit and hesitant to invest in bitcoin because they continue and continue and continue to wait for the fall in prices that does not come. Is it going down to $700 this time? or $400?

Need a better strategy than merely waiting, especially if the rocket leaves the docking station.. which is also a possibility that is not guaranteed but something to prepare in each direction.. not just one direction as a lot of you bear nutjobs have been suggesting since $200-ish.

Of course, it makes sense to me, otherwise I would not have said it.

You gotta read in context rather than getting caught up on one sentence.

For example, as we grow up we become more able to grasp more concepts at once... so for example, we begin with understanding words, then phrases then sentences then paragraphs and then chapters, etc...

I got it from your link referenced above. You are my reference.

I do not see your new facts within the link that I had posted... especially your suggestion that all fiat is compromised.. blah blah blah.

According to the linked reference that I provided, this is what Bitfinex said on April 13:

>>>>>>>There is currently no ETA on full normalization of USD wires, but we are working hard to provide alternatives to our customers and will continue to provide updates as we progress. Notably, we can process withdrawals in other currencies, namely, Hong Kong Dollars (HKD) and Swiss Francs (CHF). In addition, we expect to confirm the availability of Japanese Yen (JPY), Australian Dollars (AUD), and Canadian Dollars (CAD) in the next few days, and Euros (EUR) sometime next week. Different currencies have different conversion spreads at our bank, which vary between 0.20% and 0.50% from the interbank market. If you are interested in any of these alternatives, please contact support at [email protected]<<<<<<<<<<

When I read that, I do not see anything that says that all fiat is compromised.

[Edit : O.k. I take this part back. I see that the April 17 post from Bitfinex refers to "All fiat" is affected, but I still do not think that it is the death of Bitfinex or that they are not working in good faith to attempt to fix their bank wiring situation(s).

(04-17-2017 09:58 PM)Armogan Wrote:  "This applies to all fiat currencies at the present time. " Straight from the article.

O.k? So what is your point? You are quoting some one sentence that is about what? What point would you like to make? You wanna say that Bitfinex might be insolvent from that? Or did you have some other point that is relevant to anything related to bitcoin?

Yeah.. you are crazy.. who gives a shit what I said and what you said? If you have some kind of point that you would like to make, then make it, rather than getting caught up about something that we already said or did not say. Who gives a shit? We can go back and read what we said or did not say, no?

So in that regard, is there something that you want to say about Bitfinex? Do you think that they are insolvent? Do you have evidence of that? Do you think bitcoin prices are going down? What are the odds and how much? Where should we place our buy orders? How do we prepare for whatever the fuck you are suggesting is going to happen? Let's get to the point about the substance rather than getting caught up on what we may have said or not said, because we can go back and read what we said or did not say, no?

You are asserting that I bark out orders, too? hahahaha.. hm?

So I suppose the next thing that you want to do in order to detract further into nonsense and irrelevance is to start trotting out examples in which I was supposedly barking out orders..? Cat lady

Can we move on?

Let's get back to talking about bitcoin rather than talking about personalities, styles or any of that other distracting bullshit, no? Otherwise if you want to talk about personalities, then we could maybe do those kinds of discussions via PM, no?

Do you have any substantive claims to back up your assertions that bitcoin.com is "propaganda". Care to talk about substance or just mindless nonsense discounting information you don't agree with. It's from a source called bitcoin.com, couldn't be more relevant to this discussion.

It doesn't matter what you think. This is about me posting facts: Bitfinex no longer accepting deposits and froze withdrawals. And you claiming that I'm lying. What you wrote proves you have zero credibility at this point. Here's a recap of what happened.

1. You posted a link from Bitfinex.
2. I read it and post straight from the article, "This applies to all fiat currencies at the present time. In reference to bitfinex stating deposits are no longer accepted and withdrawals are currently frozen.
3. You call me a "fucking idiot", and claim you can't find that anywhere and I'm saying Bitfinex is acting in bad faith.
4. You then edit your post to remove "fucking idiot" after you realize I was right, and post some sort of saving face edit above.
5. Who's the real idiot here, you can't even read your own articles. You have lost all credibility at this point.

You manipulate words in order to conform to your warped, bias point of views. This is damaging to the discussion. When you have 95% of your net worth in computer coin it's hard to see things clearly.

What is your reference to the "this" that I do?

"This" is a demonstrative adjective. It refers to you telling RVF members what they can and cannot post in this thread by claiming something is not relevant to the discussion.

GNT is up 120% in one month. Haha. BTC is broken, they only thing supporting it are maximalists that put 95% of their net worth in it and artificially prop it up. It is slow, has community turmoil, high fees, has nothing promising in the future. Let's talk about price and performance in the summer. We'll see who's right, just like I was right about the ETF wasn't priced in.

Do you have any substantive claims to back up your assertions that bitcoin.com is "propaganda". Care to talk about substance or just mindless nonsense discounting information you don't agree with. It's from a source called bitcoin.com, couldn't be more relevant to this discussion.

I have already posted on this topic, and I doubt that there is any need for me to go into detail at this time. Guys can consider the extent to which they credit various sources.

The mere fact that something is called "bitcoin.com" does not make it credible. Even you should understand that.

[Edit : O.k. I take this part back. I see that the April 17 post from Bitfinex refers to "All fiat" is affected, but I still do not think that it is the death of Bitfinex or that they are not working in good faith to attempt to fix their bank wiring situation(s).

It doesn't matter what you think. This is about me posting facts: Bitfinex no longer accepting deposits and froze withdrawals.

If you attempt to read and comprehend previous posts, we have already gone over this.

Posts tend to be a combination of 1) non-controverted facts 2) controverted facts 3) logic 4) conclusions.

my previous post largely took issue with your conclusions... but those posts speak for themselves

(04-18-2017 07:34 AM)Armogan Wrote:  And you claiming that I'm lying.

Some times I have said something like that, but depends on the issue and the claim that you are making. Sometimes i just say that you are mischaracterizing or giving too much weight to some facts or coming to the wrong conclusions. There tends to be a difference between lying and otherwise getting things wrong.. As I type, I do recall accusing you of being disingenuous too, from time to time... but don't take these things so personal because you can possibly recover from these kinds of situations.

(04-18-2017 07:34 AM)Armogan Wrote:  What you wrote proves you have zero credibility at this point.

You can assign whatever credibility that you like. I took back part of what I wrote based on re-reading the information in one of the links. I would think that helps, rather than hurst credibility, but guys can come to their own conclusions about how much credibility to give to me or anyone else posting in a quasi-anonymous forum on the interwebs.

O.k. great. You sure like to get caught in the weeds and take us back to a dumbass, distracting, unnecessary and likely irrelevant "recap."

2. I read it and post straight from the article, "This applies to all fiat currencies at the present time. In reference to bitfinex stating deposits are no longer accepted and withdrawals are currently frozen.

4. You then edit your post to remove "fucking idiot" after you realize I was right, and post some sort of saving face edit above.
5. Who's the real idiot here, you can't even read your own articles. You have lost all credibility at this point.

I don't agree with your recap, and I don't think that it is necessary or fruitful to attempt to pick it apart.

Like I said many times, my BTC portfolio is prepared for either price direction, and I try not to make posts that try to get RVF guys to do anything except for figuring out their own investment allocations and strategies.

What is your reference to the "this" that I do?

"This" is a demonstrative adjective. It refers to you telling RVF members what they can and cannot post in this thread by claiming something is not relevant to the discussion.

Seems to be a little different from what you did, no? Does not really seem too substantive to talk about style and/or personality.

We'll see who's right, just like I was right about the ETF wasn't priced in.

Again, I doubt that I am trying to be "right" about anything.

I continue to repeat that I do not see the world in black and white (especially when we are referring to future possibilities). At this current time, we can create a strategy to prepare for a variety of future possibilities, and I give a ratt's ass if I am right, all I care about is that I attempt to prepare and that I have various vehicles in place to be able to react and to adjust along the way in case the scenario is playing out differently than my expectations (which happens frequently).

I also try to create a situation for myself that might automate some of the process in order that I do not have to interact, but these choices change in time. Sometimes if I am changing my strategy or trying to learn about some particular aspect, I may have to spend more time on tweaking it or playing around with my strategy.

RVF guys should be able to find these kinds of balances for themselves, and part of the thrust for participation in this thread is to be able to attempt to share information on these kinds of bitcoin related topics, considerations and strategies.

RE: The Bitcoin thread
By the way, I have a variety of BTC portfolio reallocation methods that I have attempted to employ - and sometimes, I can use like a direct purchase or sale (through local bitcoins or something similar) to attempt to reallocate my investment; however, sometimes also, the direct transactions are not enough because they are only about 4% premium priced from the market price. Therefore, sometimes market movement can be a bit of a better tool for reallocation.

Sometimes, depending on personal circumstances, it can also take several months to carry out reallocation.

Currently, based on only one major correction this year and some of my own cash flow issues, I am still feeling a bit too much allocated in dollars (at around 8.6%). so yeah, a bit of a drop in BTC prices would be GREAT to bring me around 6% or something a bit more comfortable!!!!... even though in the end, I do profit more from BTC prices going up and I have found that sooner or later I am going to be able to use the stacking up of dollars.. .even if the situation begins to feel as if I am becoming too allocated in dollars.

Where do you guys get the time to post long responses? LOL

I'm going to try to buy 10 million of each at a good price:

Nxt
BitShares
Ardor

So far my platform coins GNT and SJCX are doing well.

Editor's Note: We've been flooded with questions about tomorrow's cryptocurrency training. Teeka Tiwari has taken the time to answer the most frequently asked questions below...

Hi, Teeka here.

I was going through the comments section on our cryptocurrency web page... I see that we’ve received A LOT of questions.

I’m happy to see so much interest in cryptocurrencies...

Most of the questions will be answered during the webinar tomorrow (if you haven’t already, click here to register for it. We’ve got over 20,000 people already registered), but I thought I’d take a minute to answer some of your questions now.

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions:

Why can't I trade Bitcoin on a "regular" brokerage account, like Fidelity or ETRADE?

Cryptocurrencies are a whole new asset class. Traditional brokerages are not set up to deal with the issues specific to cryptocurrencies. I imagine that will change at some point, but for now, there are several good cryptocurrency exchanges to choose from (see next question).

What exchanges do you recommend?

If you're looking to convert dollars (or any other "regular" currency) into Bitcoin, we recommend Abra, Airbitz, and Gemini.

(You can watch me explain how to open a Gemini account by following this link.)

Coinbase is another option we've used in the past, as well as LocalBitcoins – a peer-to-peer service that allows you to buy Bitcoins anywhere in the world.

For converting Bitcoin into other cryptocurrencies, we recommend Poloniex, Bittrex, and Kraken.

How can I convert my cryptocurrencies back into dollars?

You just reverse the process.

First, you would sell your cryptocurrency on an exchange such as Poloniex, Bittrex, or Kraken for Bitcoin.

Then, you would convert your Bitcoin to your local currency using Abra, Airbitz, or Gemini.

(Have you registered for tomorrow's event yet? If not, click here now. Not only will there be an extended Q&A, but we're also giving away $250,000 in real, actual Bitcoin. But you have to join us for the chance to claim your portion - just click here to register.)

You've mentioned a lot of big gains in your training material. Is it possible I'm getting into cryptocurrencies too late?

Not at all.

This market is still in its infancy. Most people don't even know these investments exist. They've heard of Bitcoin, but that's about it.

Over 90% of cryptos trade for less than $100 million... and are completely unknown.

There's still plenty of money to be made.

How does the $250,000 Bitcoin Giveaway work?

To help folks get started with cryptocurrencies, we're giving everyone who attends the webinar the chance to claim a portion of $250,000 of Bitcoin that we're purchasing.

And yes, this is real Bitcoin – not just cash.

However, this is a one-time-only thing. It will not be available the next day... and the ONLY way to claim a portion is to attend the webinar.

Stay tuned for more answers during our in-depth Q&A tomorrow night.

I hope that answers some of your questions.

Remember, we're having an extended Q&A on Thursday night – and while we can't give any personalized investment advice, we'll answer many, many more questions regarding these exciting investments.

If you haven't already done so, click here now to reserve your spot. Already, over 20,000 of your fellow subscribers have done so.

Sincerely,

Teeka Tiwari
Editor, Palm Beach Confidential

P.S. While you wait for the webinar, I recommend you visit my training research website. You'll be able to watch my three training videos, submit questions of your own, and more.

We're taking it down after tomorrow, so you'll want to access it right away.

RE: The Bitcoin thread
The linked article has a decent discussion of the Litecoin segwit activation situation - kind of bordering on the 75% activation threshold and considerations in the article that intentional sabotage may be taking place... which partially explains the recent litecoin hashrate increase.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comment...reventing/

In bitcoin, segwit signaling seems to be maintaining the low 30% arena... so seems quite a ways from activation in the bitcoin scene.

The more interesting phenomenon in the bitcoin space seems to be the considerably great spread between prices on different exchanges.. and not going away and continuing upwards buying pressure... which seems to provide a suggestion that some kind of price correction must be on its way (whether that price correction is up or down, is still unclear - though I am kind of becoming more receptive to down - even though it is no where close to any kind of done deal).

$80 spread between bitfagnex and everyone else. They aren't having liquidity issues? ....yeah ok.

BTC looking strong though.

Fag coin is tearing a new one, literally. I only like straight pump and dumps, however.

Personally, I'm waiting for the Van Damme coin. Actor of the century.

Difficult to consider you as a possible objective source of information when you are referring to "bitfagnex." Names like that seem to be quite distracting and nonfactual, even if there may be a lot of reasons to distrust or hate on certain players in the bitcoin space.

In the latest post from Bitfinex

https://www.bitfinex.com/posts

they assert: "We want to be absolutely clear here that Bitfinex is solvent. "

Of course, we take these kinds of claims with a grain of salt, but at the same time recognizing that we have both plausible and implausible explanations for our current status, and it could take weeks to unravel and to figure it out.

Also, representatives sometimes lie through their teeth - but it is not something that we assume.

In other words, we need to account for things that representatives say, too.

Very decent thread and some substantive responses from Bitfinex representatives.

It was a typo. Good catch.

I wouldn't believe anything from the person in the hot seat. Does a murderer get acquitted when he says "I didn't kill my wife" on the stand? No.

Just curious did anyone vote for Hillary? $80+ spreads speak for themselves.

I think that we are all a bit shocked by this.

I am both shocked and torn.

Matters seem way too discordant in bitcoin prices in order to feel really comfortable about any further pumping of the price; however, I could see a few whales (whether bears or bulls) pumping this uncertain BTC status - even 20 or 30% or more - but the whole time, I would remain uncertain.

Based on having no real or meaningful correction since $890 and a few of my own mistakes, I am continuing to feel inadequately stocked up for any kind of trip to the moon, if such an unexpected trip were to occur in the near future - yet at the same time, I will manage with what I have - because I do continue to maintain a decent stake in BTC.
