While statistically true, this is of course a bullshit argument.

Islamic terror is preventable by stopping Islamic immigration, telling the truth about Islam and making everything in your power to either punish or secularize those groups (if they already live in the West). Otherwise you have mantras of all religions being equal, Islam being peaceful and Mohammed being like Jesus - all of those statements are objectively wrong. The result will be that the Muslim population grows, such attacks become more frequent until one nice day in the future the Muslim majority violently subjugates and kills the minority. But then it will be too late to scream about statistics. Voila - you are living in an an Islamic shithole.

Usually arguing with progressives is useless. You can only speak truth with those who are already on the edge or have doubts about it.

Yeah... the distinction between terrorism and traffic deaths is so obvious to me, I would probably be caught flat footed if someone actually made that comparison seriously in a conversation. It would be like have a math discussion with someone and getting pretty deep into it, then having them trot out "well since 2+2 = green...".

How do you talk to someone when you suddenly realize even though you're using the same language, their understanding of the world is radically flawed?

I suspect most people who actually make sincere comparisons like those listed have never actually examined those comparisons. Some people, I'm sure, are willfully toeing the party line. But the rest? The human mind is a funny thing, and sometimes people can go a long time believing something is true without having ever examined it, and then realize instantly that it must be bullshit the moment they actually analyze the thing in question.

This is a bit of a silly example but it illustrates what I mean above. I've been playing Quake 2 recently, and in Quake 2 you can fall in lava. In movies, people fall in lava sometimes. In both cases, when people fall in lava they sink right in and burn up. I'd never really questioned that before. But when I was playing Quake 2 the other day, I actually thought about what would happen if a person jumped in lava, and two things occurred to me instantly: first, you can't sink into lava because lava is way, way denser than the human body. Second, most lava is so hot you'd probably be dead from the heat before your body even touched the lava, and it would flash boil the water in your body so you'd probably literally explode into steam and chunks of flesh that would quickly burn to ash. It might be quite interesting to see a fleshy body tossed on fresh lava to see exactly how that would go down, but it would be absolutely nothing like in a movie or game.

Now, I'm a geologist by training. I internalized the specific gravity of average rock a long time ago. I know how viscous lavas are as well. So you'd think my mind would've immediately called bullshit on people falling in lava years ago, especially since I used to go out of my way to watch movies with bad geology to laugh at them. But it never did until about a week ago, when for whatever reason that analytical bit of my brain turned its attention toward the trivial matter of why my avatar was sinking in lava in Quake 2 and said "wait a second..."

And that's why I think so many people parrot bullshit like "terrorism is less dangerous than traffic". It's not that they're necessarily stupid or lying for the sake of their ideology. It's that they've heard that as truth for a long time and just never stopped to logically analyze it. And sometimes all it takes is planting the seed of uncertainty, to ask the question "why is this so?" so they'll have to find an answer outside the rote repetition of the "commonly known truth". And if the answer isn't available, well... that's how people wake up.

Okay I'm going to be completely honest here and take this for what it's worth:

I am having a very hard time feeling bad for these people. Actually it kind of disturbs me how little I care and the only way I can explain it is that Sweden has been asking for something just like this for a very very long time now. Every single day we are confronted with some hare brained story from that country. Every single day we read about the most atrocious attacks and violations against the Swedish people who then in turn continue to vote for and support the very same parties and organizations which are responsible for the systematic slow motion destruction of their nation: The feminist marxist Left and of course Islam.

There is a price to be paid for acting like a victim and for sticking your head in the sand for decades on end. This was nothing folks - it was but a first taste of the suffering that is heading toward Sweden over the coming decade. I wish it wasn't so but I already said a year ago that Sweden (as well as Germany) is doomed. The point of no return was breached a long time ago and the consequences will be grim and ongoing.

At this point, I think secular liberals have effectively spiritualized their beliefs in multiculturalism and diversity. It's part of their catechism. They will treat this as a "test of their faith" and double down to show everyone how they are still True Believers.

The older I get I really do think that people are spiritual creatures and if it's not Christianity that fulfills that need then it will be something else. For liberals it appears to be their political ideology...

Unfortunately you have to racially profile some groups - it is not even about drivers, but also often in Germany with all those knife and axe attacks. Currently the local converts usually join ISIS and behead people there. They rarely plan to execute women and children in their homecountries. So it helps to identify potential rapists, attackers and terrorists.

Also terror is the least of the worries of Europeans. 300.000 crimes committed in Germany are done by newcoming Muslim immigrants each year - the rarest are terror acts, the most common are rape, assault, theft etc.

No this won't. The litmus test is this; "Will people be able to grab Starbucks the next morning and go to work as normal?". If yes then that means nothing will change.

Either one or two things have to happen.
- These attacks literally occur on a weekly basis causing massive disruption to life or a single attack that basically shuts down the country. Example; If a terrorist got ahold of a small nuke and detonated it in downtown Stockholm.

My Facebook is a mess. People are trying to remove as much blame from Islam as possible and blame it on racism and so. Doing what most Swedes do best, hide their heads in sand rather than face the problem head on.

The prime minister was just at the scene leaving flowers. Call me harsh but i blame him. My sister just left university 10 min before. I don't want to think about what would have happened.

This prime minister has blood on his hands for refusing to acknowledge the dangers of Islam. For refusing acknowledge that Sweden has a segregation problem. For refusing to acknowledge that terrorist organisations are openly recruiting right under his nose. For instead of helping people who built this nation and help it stand whether native or immigrant, ponder to outsiders who would destroy this great nation given the chance.

Interesting point. In war, we report on 'casualties': dead AND the injured taken out of the fight. With terrorist attacks, only dead reported. Think how many lives ruined by this. Why the difference in reporting?

Because it sounds less and has better press - war injuries just the same as Islamic terrorism.

My sister was working in the office where this happened. She says 14 people are confirmed dead, and there is shooting near Fridhemsplan where she used to live. Several people she knows who work in reception were injured. There were dead bodies and bloodstains on the street outside.

I never cared about terrorist attacks before. Now I'm both scared and furious, I want to kill whoever did this. If my sister had been downstairs she could have been killed too.
