I couldn't disagree more. Why stop some useless cunt from killing herself for the dubious benefit of then having to fund her institutionalization?

She is not the one killing herself.
Quote:A top British scientist committed suicide amid fears the 32-year-old CEO of Theranos was about to fire him - because he was having trouble getting her one-prick blood tests to work, his wife has claimed.
Cambridge graduate Ian Gibbons was head scientist at the Silicon Valley bio-tech firm when he started finding issues with the technology which made Elizabeth Holmes the richest self-made women in America, with a net worth of $4.5billion in 2015.
According to an investigation by Vanity Fair, Mr Gibbons was having problems getting Holmes' methods to work, but was pressured to back the company during a lawsuit and throughout its massive expansion.
His wife Rochelle said he killed himself ours after Holmes had called him in for a meeting. He had recently been diagnosed with cancer and feared he was about to lose his job.

RE: Meet The World's Latest Self-Made Multi-Billionaire: Elizabeth Holmes of Theranos
"Theranos Whistleblower Shook the Company—And His Family"
Turns out a young insider, whose influential Grandfather was on the company board with Kissinger, blew the whistle on the scam after he saw how poorly the device actually worked!
http://www.wsj.com/articles/theranos-whi...1479335963
"After working at Theranos Inc. for eight months, Tyler Shultz decided he had seen enough. On April 11, 2014, he emailed company founder Elizabeth Holmes to complain that Theranos had doctored research and ignored failed quality-control checks."
"Tyler Shultz, now 26 years old, was among several Theranos employees who tried to voice concerns inside the company about what they saw as troubling practices, and Mr. Shultz was the first to blow the whistle to a state regulator. He says he wanted to expose the problems to protect the health of patients and his grandfather’s reputation.
The elder Mr. Shultz, 95, was President Richard Nixon’s Treasury and labor secretary, the first Office of Management and Budget director, and secretary of state for President Ronald Reagan, with whom he had a close relationship. In 1989, Mr. Reagan awarded Mr. Shultz the Medal of Freedom, the U.S.’s highest civilian honor.
Using an alias, Tyler Shultz contacted New York state’s public-health lab and alleged Theranos had manipulated a process known as proficiency testing, relied on by federal and state regulators to monitor the accuracy of lab tests. That was the first known regulatory complaint about Theranos’s lab practices. In early 2015, Mr. Shultz began speaking to a Journal reporter as a confidential source."

Nice find. The Daily Mail is covering it too; looks like it took a toll on the kid's relationship with Grandpa Shultz.
And this bit:
Quote:Her company ditched its blood-testing machine 'vision' last month and is now focusing on clinic-side, not patient-side, medical tech.
What a cunt - she's so obviously wrong and not only refuses to recognize her cover is blown, but now the whole alleged vision of the company (less blood, no big needles, patient experience, etc.) is swept under the rug. What'll Tim Draper and the rest of the hangers on say now? These Silicon Valley types will believe whatever they want to tell themselves, I guess.
Kinda sheds light on what they probably believed would happen, going into the last election...

Typical female typist quote. No real substance behind her quasi-intelectualism. The media soaked up her butt fumes spewing out of her mouth as gospel truth until a man, a whistleblower, had the nerve to tell the world she was full of it. Women in science are mostly a joke, with some rare exceptions.

It continues
The details are coming out, and it's as worse than originally feared. As the former employee pointed out in the video, Uber got more scrutiny over their business, which was just moving people around, versus Theranos, a wannabe medical services company. Everybody invested in the idea, not the execution.

We Just Learned a Lot More About How Badly Theranos Labs Screwed Up
Sy Mukherjee
Feb 09, 2017
Blood testing upstart Theranos failed to follow its own established procedures and make certain that all patients who may have received potentially inaccurate blood test results were notified, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Those are just some of the deficiencies listed in a lab inspection report obtained by the Journal via a public records request. Federal inspectors found that the Silicon Valley firm, once considered a rising star, also neglected to ensure its devices' accuracy hewed to its manufacturer's instructions on key tests such as blood-glucose monitoring and pregnancy tests. In fact, even conventional blood testing machines (as opposed to the "nano-prick" blood test technology that CEO Elizabeth Holmes had claimed would revolutionize the diagnostics industry) were improperly operated by Theranos employees, according to the report.
Theranos eventually shut down the Scottsdale, Ariz., laboratory where the various deficiencies were cited, and says it plans to continue discussions with the government over the issues. The firm also argues that the accuracy problems wouldn't have ultimately affected clinical decision-making.

Although Theranos began as a diagnostics firm, its mounting woes and regulatory scrutiny — including multiple lawsuits and an ugly legal battle with former partner Walgreens (WBA, +0.36%) — eventually led the company to shift its focus. In fact, the company has decided to leave the blood testing game altogether, instead focusing on a new device called the "miniLab," which it plans to sell to health care providers.
So Walgreens is suing them - about time they woke up - and Theranos still thinks they have enough credibility to sell any kind of medical device. I'd like to be there when the next lawsuit comes down from a patient alleging some kind of mishap. Any hospital or other health care provider going with this company for anything would be setting themselves up for a massive jury award against them for such moronic judgment.
At this point the Thereanos name and all anything associated with Elizabeth Holmes is so tarnished that anybody in the health care business would be a fool to hire them to take out the trash.
Here's the full report of fuckups at the lab, and excuses from Theranos for disregarding them.

Do I have to ask the most obvious question in the world? Why the he isn't she being charged with fraud? Endangering the health of the public? There's so many federal statutes you could bust her on. She needs to be in jail as an example of female empowerment has limits when you have no talent. Hopefully Sessions will indict her.

The reasons she hadn't been indicted come down to this:
http://fortune.com/2015/10/15/theranos-b...eadership/
Quote:Let's take a look at Theranos' 12-person board (which is an 11-man team if you don't include CEO and Chairwoman Elizabeth Holmes—interesting given her stated commitment to women in STEM). We have former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, former Secretary of Defense Bill Perry, former Secretary of State George Shultz, former Senators Sam Nunn and Bill Frist (who, it should be noted, is a surgeon), former Navy Admiral Gary Roughead, former Marine Corps General James Mattis, and former CEOs Dick Kovacevich of Wells Fargo and Riley Bechtel of Bechtel. There is also one former epidemiologist—William Foege, and, in addition to Holmes, one current executive, Sunny Balwani, who is Theranos' president and CEO.
These people do not want any prospect of being exposed as a bunch of idiots who couldn't evaluate a company right.
Note in particular the name of the certain former Marine Corps General who was on that board.

Those board fellows are for connections and not much else. But it shows how incredibly well-connected this supposed "Wunderkind" was. Who was she? A Rockefeller grand-daughter like Mark Zuckerberg?
Too bad that they could not con their way into this baby. They should have created a solar panel company. Those get billions of subsidies, government contracts, then they close silently a few years down the line.
What kind of deserving 20-something inventor gets that kind of elite firepower in his board, and that kind of massive promotion?
http://www.businessinsider.com/theranos-...15-12?IR=T
Here you have an even open article on the family connections - they hobnob with billionaires as your neighbors and best buddies. And we don't even get the extended family connections which are probably even more impressive.
I once met a true super-high-IQ STEM woman. She was older, but she was once quite pretty. She worked in the development of the first computers in Silicon Valley. She was a mathematician and semi-conductor engineer. The guys in her company loved her, because she was the only woman - one who was actually interested in the job and who was capable to do it.
That Holmes bitch was supposed to be made into another Sugarmountain or Bill Gates super-genius. Both of those buggers have elite backing up to the bazoo. Trump is 1000 times the self-made man (though he finally inherited a company worth 40 mio. $ in current dollars - at least he multiplied it tremendously.

RE: Meet The World's Latest Self-Made Multi-Billionaire: Elizabeth Holmes of Theranos
When I first heard of her she was being referred to as the "female Steve Jobs" a mythical creature that is sighted on a regular basis in Silicon Valley and always turns out to be a bust. I knew immediately, without knowing about the fraud of the company, that she was an imposter.
There has never been a female CEO who was able to build or even successfully run a major high tech company, to my knowledge. Meg Whitman, Carly Fiorina, Mayer and now Holmes are some of the best known failures. That doesn't stop the Valley from spotting a new one nearly every year. Saddens the valley that, in spite being one of the epicenters of SJW, all the highly successful CEO's that have started and/or run successfully major companies have been either white or, secondarily, Asian males. The first group - white - especially is a problem. The NY Times and other places "report" about Silicon Valley's "white problem" because blacks and Hispanics are under represented. Reality is that whites are under represented too in many companies and around 3-% of the people are Asians who are over represented (mainly because of H1B, the Valley's own indentured servants). Of course, it is not proper to note that Asians are over represented or that there is no rational reason for under academically and technically achieving Hispanics and blacks to be under represented. That is racist.
NY Times, a few years ago, in a rare moment of semi-non PC, looked at why females were not as successful in start ups. They concluded that women do better in bureaucratic organizations, not freewheeling ones like start ups. Of course. That is why women flourish in schools too. Laughably, the Times suggested that start ups become more bureaucratic to help women.
Holmes is the product of a perfect convergence for what high tech wants in an entrepreneur: connected parents in the elite, Stanford university, young, good looking, and connected. She is in the club. Once in the club you are protected. If someone who was not in the club had managed to get funding then pull off the scam she did, things would not have gone so well.
