RE: Gut feelings and intuition
One caveat : you have to be in a state of Zen to go with your intuition.

If you are tilted in any way about anything your gut will lead you astray.

RE: Gut feelings and intuition
I am starting to believe that our subconscious will push us in the direction we need to go, if we fail to act on our gut. I've had this happen a lot lately, in 2016. You push through to make something happen that appears to be right, when you know its wrong, and you end up miserable. An "accident", or "mishap" occurs as a result, damaging that thing you know is wrong, but fail to act on. Like reading red flags, and failing to act on red flags that you see plainly. I had several of these "mishaps" happen as a result.

I think they happen not because we fail to act quickly on the red flag, but from living in a state of denial they are there. An internal incongruence with your own integrity and beliefs. Instead of pretending all is good, and willfully ignoring whats wrong, I think you protect yourself from further harm by being totally honest with yourself. Then readjusting your behavior as a result. Example, she's acting up. You recognize, but keep pressing on with a fake smile on your face. Instead of pretending its alright, backing off with your time, attention, money and sex is the right move. That incongruence in your body and mind will manifest into further and worse disaster. You start a new job, but notice that everyone is unhappy, they miss their revenue goals and the people are inexperienced snowflake princesses. Don't hope for the best. Act on it, and get a new gig ASAP.

I think the danger in not listening to your gut, is further pain from your subconscious trying to make your internal incongruence come to an end. That could be accidents, addictions, embarrassment, etc. I think these things are more powerful than we care to admit. To the OP I would have quit the group without a second thought.

Over the long term, did it really us astray? Without being "lead astray" by my gut I wouldn't have ended up here today. Thinking back, it's almost like I needed all of this bad stuff to happen to "purge" otherwise non working or unhealthy aspects of my psyche through trial by fire.

I think back to the times I ditched otherwise amazing women for the slore of a woman I had oneitis for. Eventually, we broke up and reached a point where I couldn't stand the thought of her.

Her constant emotional outbursts and her drinking problems had done so much damage to my psyche I had to seek out Church to feel normal again.

Hilariously the original reason I opened this thread was because that "church" i Joined out lived its usefulness. There were some people there who very much did not like me and leaving was probably one of the best things I did.

Me following my gut eventually lead me full circle in terms of growing up. In my youth I foolishly though I could re-invent the wheel when it came to male/female relationships, spirituality, and what to seek out from a church and its community. Coincidentally, i've stopped believing in free will.

The worst part is, I didn't surround myself with the right people in the past where I could have potentially learned my lesson the easy way. This thread was my first attempt at reaching out to smart people.

Merc, I know why you popped this thread up. I implore you to NOT be drawn to what it is you're being drawn to. From someone who knows what bad news looks it, you're going to very much go down a dark path. You'll eventually come out of it but the collaterial damage is a stain on your well being that will never go away.

This is an excellent comment.

Our subconscious minds are much more powerful than we realize. The subconscious mind is very effective at wreaking havoc in our lives when there is in-congruence between the subconscious mind and the actions of our conscious mind.

Intuition: Knowing Beyond Logic - Osho
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/97006.Intuition

Intuition is beyond mind, intellect and the thinking process.. It is subtler.. it is beyond the random/ huge thought train that goes through our heads..

1.The calmer & more subtly aware you are, the more clear your ability to TAP into it.
2. ACTING based on IT, is another step.

Irrespective sometimes the intuition/ gut feel is powerful and tells you / indicates to you ..certain things/ direction.. The above 2 steps still come into play..

Looking back at my life, I can vouch for the fact that INTUITION & GUT FEEL or 6th SENSE are there.. And the more I Meditate, did yoga, got spiritual (reading, contemplation, introspection, spend time with such people) the more it gets refined..

PS: With reference to the Ops issues with Church 1 and Church 2.. The universe operates on vibration, and we mingle/ connect and disconnect with people on vibration/ frequency.. Hidden Energies bring people together and take them away.. (hence.. friendships.. relationships.. and their time comes & goes)..

And this changes in time & space.. At times we are meant to spend time alone.. and at times with the right or wrong people.. The alone is what most Saints/ Masters talk about as inner evolution of one's consciousness..

Throughout history across regions & cultures & flavors of faith, you will see people go through "burning" as the two phrases ive heard the most..
"diamonds are created under pressure"..
"gold is purified under extreme heat"..

For the Enlightened.. Intuition is not something that happens.. Their union with the universe is how they live..

The point of modern propaganda isn't only to misinform or push an agenda. It is to exhaust your critical thinking, to annihilate truth.
