I've only managed to catch up with this event and I have to say that while I think Spencer is an idiot, of course he didn't deserve to get ambushed like that. What a cowardly, lame attack!

Neither 'participants' have said they are interested. Spencer has a philosophy of non-violence so that counts him out.

I've given this fire extinguisher business some thought and done a few tests with several I own.

In a hostile situation any extinguisher with a hose like the one used above should be hefted over your right shoulder with the handle facing frontwards gripped in your right hand (assuming you're right handed). Use your weak hand to hold and direct the hose.

This protects one side of your head from attack (try to maintain situational awareness by moving) and allows you to easily bring the extinguisher down on anyone that attacks you.

Having a combative method like this will also make people stop to think twice about whether you're the kind of person to be fucked with.

That said, try to determine whether you really want to risk martyring yourself for some sympathetic footage.

Bill Mitchell tweeted that Spencer assaulted him which is a bit of a stretch if you look at the video that has now surfaced. It's clear that Spencer is right up in Bill's face in an aggressive posture and being a dick. He then kind of moves into Bill as they step past each other when Bill goes to exit. You have to wonder why Spencer is being threatening in this way if he believes in non-violence. He needs to explain this contradiction.

Bill's tweets on the other hand make it sound way worse than in looks in the video.

The amusing thing about "editorials" or whatever that was which pose "beg the question"-type questions, where the author feeds you the conclusion that way as if to them the answer isn't already pre-determined, is that you can usually just mentally answer "No" to every question, and if you spend some time on your own thinking about why "No" is an appropriate answer to them, you often end up far more enlightened than if you'd actually read the article.

I would not do it for footage , I would do it because a man should not be beaten for no reason. I have helped a stranger before that was getting jumped by a bunch of assholes before and I would have helped this guy. What happened to him was wrong and the people that did it were wrong. If that 5'6 dude can jump in to get the man's hat back then I would absolutly have to jump in as a matter of principal. Looking at the video it seems like eveyone there was egging the attack on-it is wrong on so many levels. It also seems that leftist mobs are triggered by the red hat, they always go for it in an attack.

Since we cant seem to stop talking about him, last night I watched the November stream of this NPI 'become who you are' conference that the alt-right held in DC to see what this Spencer character is all about. I think this is the same conference where that nazi salute took place, though it was not part of the streaming. This Millennial Woes fellow who was doxxed also appeared in the stream, he made an impressive presentation on where the alt-right is coming from and ways to get past nihilism. Spencer led some panel discussions with some prominent alt right bloggers and authors and took questions from the press. After seeing it I think he is being mis-characterized by left, much in the same way we are, perhaps moreso.

He's a pasty, chubby intellectual type guy. Well informed and well spoken, not bad at making an argument. He does not impress me as some charismatic belligerent second coming of Hitler type character. Some of the stuff he writes and says looks designed to agitate and draw attention, not unlike some of the things RoK has done. His white advocacy is not much different than that of any other ethnic group, but the whole idea of white advocacy at all is just shocking and terrifying to people, if you care about white people you are part of a 1930's German political party after all. The speakers at the conference all struck me as being very smart guys, Jared Taylor in particular. I still don't buy the need for America to be a white ethnostate myself. Probably because my parents adopted some black kids into the family who have been my siblings for many years. But I do think white advocacy is necessary to keep my people from being marginalized and abused. I like being white, I don't like being made to feel guilty about it, I wish our breed would start uncucking themselves. I guess that makes me alt lite, sigh.

These antifa groups are starting to be a real problem for us. The cerebral alt right guys are clearly not equipped to clash with them even with their fit bodies and stylish suits and haircuts; neither were we last year by the looks of other threads. Their violent response to guys trying to hold conferences and hang out is way out of proportion, but the media doesn't care. I'm a little worried that venues will stop hosting these kinds of groups out of fear. We're lumped into this same category with the alt right and can expect the same antifa treatment. Do we know much about who organizes these people? Is there anything we can do about them?

I was talking about being the guy to pick up the extinguisher in the first place and put out the bin fire amongst the crowd of hostile thugs.

But the truth is that if I were there I would probably have been positioning myself to help the guy when the inevitable happened.

One more reason that OCspray is a good thing to carry during political unrest, even if you have a gun.

Otherwise, I have to make the general point that it's pretty foolish to say if nobody attacked you, the opposition is all just a bunch of cowards and pussies.
