Another excellent reason to lie to girls about trivia is that they are in fact extremely boring creatures for the most part. The only real exception to this is when they are talking about/engaging in sex. I suspect most men would enjoy girls a lot more, and put themselves into their proper relation to them, if they got in the habit of telling harmless lies in an engaging and amusing way at every opportunity where it wouldn't feel forced to do so. Women would have a lot more fun in the company of a man like that than they would in the company of Mr. Scrupulous. A girl would much rather have an engaging and risqué conversation with you about the arc of your career as an actor in the adult entertainment industry - even if the whole course of your engagement is predicated on what you both know to be a lie - than have to hold her nose and swallow your honesty about your travails as an accountant.

The other advantage of telling these little lies is that you can rehearse them somewhat before hand - when you're lying in bed after your alarm goes off in the morning, for example. You can just run through what you'd say if you met a new girl and told her you were a high end escort or any other profession you felt might be engaging. You can control the direction of the interaction, practise being off-hand and amusing, and refine a few lines that allow you to transition the conversation/deal with questions that might catch you out or spoil the game. This is part of the point - girls will recognise that to be able to maintain the frame, deal with her tests, and titillate her is fundamentally real. She doesn't actually care whether the story itself is real - the fact that you can be funny, engaging, charming, and naughty and make her want to fuck you is what is real to her, and in many respects she is correct. Your 'job' or whatever may be fake, but all the qualities you show her are very real. That's why they won't hold it against you if they find out subsequently that you don't rescue penguins for a living, and are in fact an accountant - they get that to talk about accountancy would be boring for you and for them, and they will be grateful you spared them another conversation that's just like all the others.

Lying through your teeth, being deceitful, subtle, treating them like numbers, treating their feelings and thoughts as non-existent all of those bring a lot of joy and turmoil in women's life and are qualities of great players and con men.

This unassuming thread turned into something pretty meaty.

As fucked up as it is, you can actually get into legal trouble for lying to get into a girl's pants. There are in fact "rape by deception" laws, as retarded as that is.

That being said, I have no qualms telling fibs, embellishing shit, and telling white lies to girls all in good fun if it makes our interaction better. Above that, I am not a great deceiver and prefer not to do such things. I agree with TLOZ's opinion of not leading girls on. Tell them you love them, wanting to be with them, and all this and that is just asking for trouble.

99% of the lying I do with girls is protecting their feelings.

Some good explanations in here but I believe the problem is much simpler. OP is just making a vocabulary mistake, I guess it's the fate of all non-native speakers. The "game" is a hard language to grasp especially if one is using the wrong vocabulary. I was making the exact same mistake during several months until I replaced the word "lying" by the word "kidding" in my game dictionary, I recommend you do the same OP.

When stand up comedians are telling a joke are they lying or kidding? Are fiction writers liars?

Humans are emotional beings and emotional honesty is what counts with chicks. We like other people because we make an emotional connection with them. This is covered in all game text books yet you will not fully understand it until you experience it first hand.

My friends and exes will tell you that I'm one of the most honest people out there, with the odd exception of crossing certain boundaries that will undoubtedly upset the person. Then I prefer to outright tell them I'm not going to make a comment.

It's caused much a conflict, but I would rather have few friends that are grateful for my honesty than many friends who I uphold a false face with. Same works with women, I would rather have a woman who I can be honest with and develop an open connection with rather than lie through my teeth to get a ONS or temporary GF.

I certainly don't consider it masculine to make up things in order to score the bang. Be honest with yourself and others; if you really want to make up accolades perhaps you should actually attain them. That's what masculinity is for me.

However having said all this about honesty I can tell you I've made some lies regarding personal desires. "No, I don't mind that we didn't have sex tonight". "You're not inviting me in again? That's okay, I don't mind going home at 2am in -4C another time". These are generally things that a woman cannot discover the truth for herself, so I feel like I won't get caught out. As opposed to seeing multiple women - something I am always sure to inform girls of.

I agree with this post. I am an open book with women, if they don't like it I'll take my talents elsewhere. If you need to lie, figure out how to make it the truth. Bad job, take a class or certification and get a better one. Age factor is overrated, use it to your advantage one way or the other. Seems like too much trouble to create a fake life for myself to pick up women when I can just make my life cool enough that I don't have to make shit up.

It really depends on what your long term strategy is. If this is going to be a girl that your going to keep around for awhile, you better make sure that your stories are congruent because a few weeks into the fling everything will start falling apart. You'll forget what you told her (wait, I thought you said you were 33 not 36), she'll go snooping and find things out.

I think that is mutually exclusive with putting any value on notch count. I suppose it makes sense if your entire frame of reference for all male-female relationships consists of hook-ups.

If however you think there is any merit to men who want low-notch-count women for long term relationships, then every time you lie to a woman to get laid you are defrauding her of some value. Yeah, I know, that's assuming more morals and discipline than most of them have, and most already have an absurdly high count and would just have banged some other dude that night anyway ...
