No shit.

Try Circle App, I don't remember them asking for a picture of my ID when I signed up and they allow $300 purchases at a time. Can't understand what you'd want to buy where they'd only allow BTC denominated funds unless it's some sort of silk road type deal... and if you're going to keep buying it, you might as well just buy whatever the minimum amount people on localbitcoin are offering.

That is more or less correct, and the situation also could be known as a decent opportunity to discuss a topic that sometimes can be quite confusing and conflicting for guys, including myself, in deciding whether and what terms to engage in private bitcoin transactions and to compare those options with other options that may be available.
(11-01-2016 05:10 PM)booshala Wrote: Also noticed your tendency to request detailed explanations/proof from guys who chime in with their opinions, especially if they don't share your bullishness.
Sure. It seems to be a fairly decent idea for any guys to back up what he is saying with evidence or logic (or to disclose that he does not have any), especially if the claim seems to be contrary to actual facts and/or logic.
(11-01-2016 05:10 PM)booshala Wrote: Some guys just want to gamble or have a "gut feeling".
Sure. Nothing wrong with gambling so long as you know that is what you are doing, and sometimes, guys may believe that they are investing when they are gambling or believe that they are gambling when they are investing. Not bad talking about these kinds of concepts, and surely crypto currencies, including bitcoin bring a lot of trading (and gambling opportunities) for whichever type you happen to be.
(11-01-2016 05:10 PM)booshala Wrote: Others have already made money in this and are just weighing in. Not everyone thinks about pricing in bands and breakout points, etc.
O.k. sure. If a guy happens to be cashing out, though, he may be thinking that the price is going down, or at least he does not want to risk taking any chances in regards to whether the price is going up. Not bad to hear ideas or other ways of thinking about the matter - even though there does tend to be quite a bit of interest regarding price and changes in price and even some of the topics that I present or respond to

Chances are pretty decent that you are being sarcastic and butt hurt with this latest nonsubstantive post; however, your BTC investment (if you would call it that?) situation can remain a decent talking point - in which maybe, just maybe, RVF guys could learn about tendencies that exist that have the potential to influence guys towards wanting to gamble too much with their bitcoin investment or to become too emotionally attached to whatever position that they take.
I cannot completely fault you for your practice because there exists some kind of general tendency to employ such strategies and to have such emotional reactions to investments. In that regard, it is easy to get caught up in the emotions of the moment and sometimes to buy into misinformation, the wrong facts, the wrong logic and misleading information and not to take a reasonable, sustainable and/or realistic long term strategy.
Surely you had a good and lucky start in about mid-2012 when you were introduced into bitcoin and because of your use case introduction to bitcoin, you actually decided to buy some additional bitcoin in case it were to go up in value (which caused you to incidentally become a bitcoin speculator) and to your surprise after a bit of back and forth and even some mistakes by you, bitcoin prices went up considerably, like what ended up being 100x over 2013.
It surely is tough for guys not to attempt to attempt to get some credit for being smart, when they, such as you, were in fact mostly lucky and had a sufficiently large enough stake in order that you could profit fairly immensely from such boom (though probably because of some of your buying and selling mistakes you were more like 25x at your max, rather than 100x, but still you were doing pretty well, at least on paper and you seemed to actually had cashed in on some of those gains). You were also quite emotionally about bitcoin, and so much (and maybe even superficially to some extent) that you changed your RVF name to Satoshi.
And, sure you made some mistakes along the way in selling parts too soon and then buying higher and then not selling some parts when it was high and then selling lower in 2014 and 2015, and quite a bit of that is understandable because it remains really difficult to predict BTC price movements... and we can certainly and understandably make some mistakes, in this regard.
Accordingly, there can be some stress in holding BTC over an extended period and watching the value of your holdings go up and down. And, in this particular situation, nearly 2 years of a subsequently obvious bear market between late 2013 and late 2015 will cause quite a few folks to become more jaded in regards to bitcoin, especially when they begin to buy into some of the bitcoin 2.0 marketing propaganda of various other alts, which causes in your case, Satoshi, caused to sell ALL of your BTC in the mid-$200s, proclaim that bitcoin is dead - only to witness bitcoin to explosively go up thereafter (even though I will give it to you that BTC did have one more downward leg to the lower $200s after you sold in the mid $200s and before it explosively moved up to $500 and then settled in the $350 to $450 range for about 5 months)
So, there is nothing really wrong with making BTC buy and sell mistakes and even being mislead by some of the propaganda - even though it becomes a bit more irritating when you, Satoshi, had seemed to have become so jaded and immature about the matter of your own personal investment that you cannot even carry out any kind of meaningful and substantive adult conversation about the matter or even about bitcoin in this thread - and then you get so emotionally invested into your own situation, and maybe even combined with a bit of a gambling and irrational (double down bug)? This later emotional instability caused you to become so heavily invested in the idea that bitcoin was going to die because of the Bitfinex hack in early August 2016, so you leverage shorted in the mid $500s and said that you were so confident that you were not going to get margin called until the mid-$600s and accordingly, you lost a considerable amount of money in that stupid-ass process, especially to get involved in leverage in order to attempt to predict beyond any reasonable abilty and to attempt to make up for what you consider to be your previous BTC/Crypto losses.
In any event, prices never really went below the price point that you opened your leveraged short, and you closed your Bitfinex-scandal related short with your tail between your legs, even though you had been quite adamant about it and attempted to get other RVF guys to follow, and would have been gloating with uncontrollable glee if you had happened to predict the price direction correctly (seems to be a bit more of a sign of insecurity and immaturity).
Sure, even though I have some doubts, there could still be a possibility that you will snap out of your nonsense and return to attempting to make meaningful contributions to this thread. Hope springs eternal.
By the way, are you back in yet? or are you waiting for another meaningful dip, maybe below $400 or some other unrealistic price point?

Anyone into any other alt coins? I recently found Burstcoin (BURST). I think it has big time potential. Check it out here - http://www.burst-team.us/
The thing that makes BURST unique is that you can mine it very efficiently. Unlike Bitcoin and others that take a ton of computer power and resources (the little guy can no longer mine Bitcoin) with BURST you simply mine with free hard drive space. You have to plot your hard drive space (which can take some time) and the more space you have the better obviously. But once that's done the cost to mine is essentially the cost of electricity of having your computer on. You literally can mine in the background while using your computer on regular tasks. In fact I'm mining right now...
They are also close to launching a way to mine on your android smart phone. I don't think the word is out on this coin yet and just think it has A LOT of upside.

You clearly don't grasp economics.
Imagine that you can mine something for a total cost of $0.01 per coin and you see a market willing to buy that coin for $0.04. What happens? The price doesn't rise because you're creating the supply by mining - you're actually shorting the market you're creating and you're profitable for it. How will make a higher price? It won't.
So many people in this thread do not get this through their thick head: if it costs a lot of money to mine bitcoin, it will command a higher price by virtue of this high cost. You cannot charge $1 per bitcoin as a miner and profit. So if you're right about WURSTcoin and anyone can mine it, you don't realize you've defeated your own argument as a cheap cost to produce means it doesn't need to command a high price. Translation: suck it investors!
Also, the maximum supply of that WURSTcoin is in the billions, meaning it would need to convince a lot of suckers to buy into it before it will rise in price. Unfortunately, all the morons are all hot and bothered over PEECASH (ZEC) right now, so you'll have to wait a while for those morons to financially recover enough to lose more of those hard earned dollars.
