Pence is a strong contrast. Definite "adult in the room" gravitas. Better control of his voice, facial expressions, diction, etc.

I'm watching with the sound muted at the moment, just to see what impression each makes. Pence's inspires confidence. He looks solid -- and calm in a way that Trump rarely does. Kaine, on the other hand, transmits a sense of panic.

So far, Pence is doing a good job. He is making all of the substantive points that Trump should have made in the last debate. Squeaky-voice Kaine keeps interrupting Pence, which is rude and annoying.
