I just read on Forbes that Music Festivals are HUGE at the moment and growing.

The typical hardcore festival goer is:

Male - 32 Years old - and makes 75,000 a year or more.

Some of these entrance ticket prices are 200 dollars and up.

Now ive never been to a music festival before but what is exactly pulling these guys there?

Is it the girls, the music or a combination of both???

My 2 cents: Ive looked at the pictures of the festivals and most of the "high end" younger girls around my city all go to them and seem to not want to miss them for the world.

I listened to the white girl challenge but 1 hour was too long for me haha. I'd prefer more about 30 minutes about a specific topic and more facts/experiences/suggestions.

I dont mind the longer hour or so interviews because the longer some guests talk the deeper the conversation gets after they loosen up more, if the guests are dropping jewels I would hate for them to be cut short mid spiel over arbitrary time restraints.

I do think splitting the interviews in part 1, part 2, etc 30 mins segments post recording would be easier to digest for listeners. Then clealy labeling each segment and which topics were discussed would be highly beneficial.

I'm going to eat somewhat eat crow.

I went to Berlin with the mentality I displayed in my earlier posts. Long story short, I got rejected at like 4 different clubs during the stay. I wore jeans and short sleeve vneck. But, in some of the clubs I went to, no one was dressed up in typical American club attire. They were dressed in all black like they were going to a funeral. Berlin Hipsters have weird fashion tastes (dark clothes, piercings, tattoos, half shaved heads, purple hair, etc.). I can't say whether I got rejected because of my clothes, black skin, lack of hipster look, body language, bouncer having a bad day, etc.

Observations about Berlin:
-A lot of fewer Africans than the rest of Europe. You will see some during the day trying to solicit you for drugs, but surprisingly they aren't out at night. I'm guessing they are different clubs that accept Africans
-I saw 3 hot girls who were like 8's in dresses and high heels get rejected at the door. They didn't dress like anyone else at the club but I was still surprised because I'm used to the U.S. where clubs beg hot girls to come.
-The music in Berlin is shit. Lots of EDM and techno crap. The kind of music that you cant dance to unless you are on drugs.
-I didn't get any blowouts with German girls. They are hard to crack because they come off as cold, but they will ask questions about you if you start a conversation.
-Prague is a pretty good place for black guys if you can find the non-touristy venues. Very few Africans there. Daygame is better because all the hot girls are out during the day but avoid the touristy clubs filled with Brits. I got a few blatant stares on the subway system.

The basic quality Berlin women do dress in that borderline emo hipster shit, but all my girls put some effort into going out. I had no problem telling them to look nice if we were going out. Otherwise it was cold as fuck so I understood sometimes. Every girl I met up with either dressed in a nice blouse or showed up in heels/skirt unless getting off of work to meet me.

In regards to your 4 club rejections that's pretty crazy. Ever club I went to I would either skip the line or just flash my passport and walk in with smiles. I never went out in jeans though. I followed the Fall guide of WIA. Could or could not be racism, it seems different brothers have different experiences. What's funny is the EDM club I went to I just so happen to be dressed in all black (black chinos, black Zara t shirt and black macy's boots), wasn't intentional at all.

Definitely agree with fewer africans and them going ghost at night, except at Tiergarten park, shit looks like a BET awards post party.

Agree here also. Berlin clubs will reject chicks who don't fit what they are looking for. I was at tube station and saw some hot blond chicks get rejected at the door, was like 6 of them.

Not true, it's a genre so that's like saying rock music sucks or rap music sucks. If it's not what you like there are a plethora of other clubs that don't play that stuff. I like EDM and it's one of the reasons why I chose berlin. I would dance all night without drugs. Girls are super thirsty if you are a brother in there doing your thing, because most guys of color gravitate to over priced matrix or some shit.

Agree here, It takes a while longer for them to lower their shields, but once they do they laugh hard and are sometimes embarrassed by how much they laugh/smile at your jokes lol.

Anyway thanks for sharing your experiences. Could you break down your game in approaching? I was borderline assholish, but funny and it seem to work for me. Most guys under 30 in Berlin are flat out losers working at some coffee or bike shop with very beta like behavior running rampant so no real competition.

Question:

What clubs did you go to? I researched my clubs fairly well before going there and I (together with a girl) attempted two and got into two. From what you are telling me it seems like you were trying to get into techno or EDM clubs or something. No normal spot rejects hot girls in high heels so either you went to the these places on purpose or you did some really bad planning. In certain clubs (like Berghain) you are supposed to wear all black and looked tweaked the fuck out. Its the dress code there.

Observation:

I agree with no seeing many Africans... I was really surprised about that myself. I feel like I see more in Cologne rather than a big city like Berlin (strange).

Im not sure how you could say the music in Berlin is crap because I ended up at a club that played hip hop music all night (The Pearl) and there was "Avenue" which had a hip hop night the night before I went out... Maybe there isnt a huge amount of clubs that play "good" music but I did manage to find two through research.

German girls generally don't blow you out quick if you have the "American card" but what will happen is that the convo will die off and thats the end of it.

All in all very strange observations about Berlin. Its amazing how two people can go to places and have two different experiences.

I wouldn't give Berlin a positive or negative rating as I was only there for the a weekend... My conclusion is that it I need to research it more... I am leaning towards positive as I can't see how an international "hipster" city would be bad for black men since hipster girls tend to be the more open types.... I'll report again once I go back.

I'm going to have to check out the fashion. I normally always wear Ralph Lauren Polo but the past couple months I've been venturing out of that and TBH I see alot of results.

Seems like women like the Trendy/Out of the Norm type of clothes. A couple years ago all I wore was Polo and I was good to go. But now I'm starting to wear fitted T Shirts from Zara and Express. I had a basic v-neck t shirt from armani that you couldn't even tell it was but the fit was amazing. When I wear a collared shirt I still go to my Ralph Lauren Polo/Button up though.

As far as jeans go what do you guys like? I have a lot of pair of True Religions but I bought my first pair of Balmains a couple weeks ago. They are tight as a mug but I'm definitely liking the look. Might cop a couple more next week.

NewDayNewFace - I use to work for Ralph Lauren, I got some nice pieces but I don't wear anything with a logo.

I have a bright orange silk cashmere sweater I wear once in a while and two winter coats which I wear from RL.

The logo thing is played out like Karl Kani jeans.

The preppy look is always a nice look, but now you have to update it. The look screams nice boy with corporate job, which is fine if you want to portray that - i do not.

True Religion and Polo are basic. Sure they look nice and in certain circles are considered fashionable, but they are not next level fashion, which is what you should strive for.

Zara has nice stuff, but every young guy is buying that stuff in North America and Europe. H&M is garbage made in sweatshops in Bangledesh, it is not made to last. So why waste your money.

I found clothes in my closet this past weekend, some of these pieces are 20 years old. I always bought quality but on a budget.

Asos has good styles for H&M prices.

I strive for next level clothing on a shoestring of course.

If I show up to a spot and some dude is wearing something similar to me, the night is ruin. Luckily, this never happens to me.

Yup I thought we were on the same page. Clothes with no logo is the best way to ensure what you buy now will be stylish years from now, since brands come and go, but some looks hang around for a while. Now I'll have to check out Asos, thanks for that recommendation.

Absolutely, definitely understood. No offense taken, I've banged a lot of girls in my life but at the same time a lot of girls thought I was a safe bet. In which I never was lol.
