I started looking at Ali express for gear that looks very different.

I'm not about to turn into a Korean hacker from dystopian Seoul though.

Since we are up on fashion. You guys have any tips for how I can transition over to blazer game? I bought a really nice blazer a year ago from H&M and still have yet to wear it. I feel like when I put it on it just adds more to my outfit than I need.

I got a great slim fit Blazer from H&M for the low low. I also have a couple Blazers from Macy's Alfani line. Those are real good. Always slim fit for me. I also have a Dior blazer but it doesn't fit me like the slim fit ones I got. I wear these blazers both for work and for a casual look by switching out a plain V-neck tee and a collared button down.

I've been digging some of Cult of Indivuality's distressed jeans, can get some decent deals at Saksoff5th. Pair with a well fitted tee and good accessory game, some quality boots. . .simple outfit but effective.

Slim fit is a must.

It almost doesn't matter where you get it from as long as it fits right.

If you're short or have an average body type then this shouldn't be too difficult. If not, you'll have a harder time finding something. I'm 6'3 and this is constant issue for me. That's when tailoring comes in. Get your blazer tailored. This is imperative.

Navy blue/dark grey should be your go to colours. Generic but versatile. Should go with multiple outfits.
rudebwoy 路 2016-09-06 16:44:00 路 #3133
@Coverdoc - Why do you need to wear blazers? Just curious!

J.Crew and Banana Republic make excellent clothes for work, I wouldn't consider them next level. I guess it boils down to where you live as well, in North America that stuff is in all the major malls. In the UK and Europe, it's nothing special at all.

I am trying to dress like an International Player, not like Reggie in I.T.

I guess it just looked a little baggy or big. It's slim fit and people say it looks nice on me, but when I look in the mirror it doesn't have that sleekness i usually go for.

Never thought about this as my blazer is slim fit. Maybe this is the problem, will take them to the local asian tailors who hooked up my Burlington Coat factory suit. Thanks.

Suits are supposed to be slim fit these days unless you are overweight.... Now as the weather is cooling down you should be buying wool suits.

I went to Berlin with the mentality I displayed in my earlier posts. Long story short, I got rejected at like 4 different clubs during the stay. I wore jeans and short sleeve vneck. But, in some of the clubs I went to, no one was dressed up in typical American club attire. They were dressed in all black like they were going to a funeral. Berlin Hipsters have weird fashion tastes (dark clothes, piercings, tattoos, half shaved heads, purple hair, etc.). I can't say whether I got rejected because of my clothes, black skin, lack of hipster look, body language, bouncer having a bad day, etc.

Observations about Berlin:
-A lot of fewer Africans than the rest of Europe. You will see some during the day trying to solicit you for drugs, but surprisingly they aren't out at night. I'm guessing they are different clubs that accept Africans
-I saw 3 hot girls who were like 8's in dresses and high heels get rejected at the door. They didn't dress like anyone else at the club but I was still surprised because I'm used to the U.S. where clubs beg hot girls to come.
-The music in Berlin is shit. Lots of EDM and techno crap. The kind of music that you cant dance to unless you are on drugs.
-I didn't get any blowouts with German girls. They are hard to crack because they come off as cold, but they will ask questions about you if you start a conversation.
-Prague is a pretty good place for black guys if you can find the non-touristy venues. Very few Africans there. Daygame is better because all the hot girls are out during the day but avoid the touristy clubs filled with Brits. I got a few blatant stares on the subway system.

The basic quality Berlin women do dress in that borderline emo hipster shit, but all my girls put some effort into going out. I had no problem telling them to look nice if we were going out. Otherwise it was cold as fuck so I understood sometimes. Every girl I met up with either dressed in a nice blouse or showed up in heels/skirt unless getting off of work to meet me.

In regards to your 4 club rejections that's pretty crazy. Ever club I went to I would either skip the line or just flash my passport and walk in with smiles. I never went out in jeans though. I followed the Fall guide of WIA. Could or could not be racism, it seems different brothers have different experiences. What's funny is the EDM club I went to I just so happen to be dressed in all black (black chinos, black Zara t shirt and black macy's boots), wasn't intentional at all.

Definitely agree with fewer africans and them going ghost at night, except at Tiergarten park, shit looks like a BET awards post party.

-I saw 3 hot girls who were like 8's in dresses and high heels get rejected at the door. They didn't dress like anyone else at the club but I was still surprised because I'm used to the U.S. where clubs beg hot girls to come.

Agree here also. Berlin clubs will reject chicks who don't fit what they are looking for. I was at tube station and saw some hot blond chicks get rejected at the door, was like 6 of them.

-The music in Berlin is shit. Lots of EDM and techno crap. The kind of music that you cant dance to unless you are on drugs.

Not true, it's a genre so that's like saying rock music sucks or rap music sucks. If it's not what you like there are a plethora of other clubs that don't play that stuff. I like EDM and it's one of the reasons why I chose berlin. I would dance all night without drugs. Girls are super thirsty if you are a brother in there doing your thing, because most guys of color gravitate to over priced matrix or some shit.

-I didn't get any blowouts with German girls. They are hard to crack because they come off as cold, but they will ask questions about you if you start a conversation.

Agree here, It takes a while longer for them to lower their shields, but once they do they laugh hard and are sometimes embarrassed by how much they laugh/smile at your jokes lol.

Anyway thanks for sharing your experiences. Could you break down your game in approaching? I was borderline assholish, but funny and it seem to work for me. Most guys under 30 in Berlin are flat out losers working at some coffee or bike shop with very beta like behavior running rampant so no real competition.

My game was the same game I ran in America. More verbal low energy game. I don't have the energy run clown game or any crazy routine. I prefer to talk to the girls in the quieter parts of the club so I don't have to compete with the loud music. My game is basically getting the girl to do most of the talking while I make a fun funny comments and steer the conversation to the direction I want it to be steered to.

I can confirm that Matrix is an awful club. Its a big venue with lots of people, but the ratios are off and it resembles an American club too much.

Question:

What clubs did you go to? I researched my clubs fairly well before going there and I (together with a girl) attempted two and got into two. From what you are telling me it seems like you were trying to get into techno or EDM clubs or something. No normal spot rejects hot girls in high heels so either you went to the these places on purpose or you did some really bad planning. In certain clubs (like Berghain) you are supposed to wear all black and looked tweaked the fuck out. Its the dress code there.

Observation:

I agree with no seeing many Africans... I was really surprised about that myself. I feel like I see more in Cologne rather than a big city like Berlin (strange).

Im not sure how you could say the music in Berlin is crap because I ended up at a club that played hip hop music all night (The Pearl) and there was "Avenue" which had a hip hop night the night before I went out... Maybe there isnt a huge amount of clubs that play "good" music but I did manage to find two through research.

German girls generally don't blow you out quick if you have the "American card" but what will happen is that the convo will die off and thats the end of it.

All in all very strange observations about Berlin. Its amazing how two people can go to places and have two different experiences.

I wouldn't give Berlin a positive or negative rating as I was only there for the a weekend... My conclusion is that it I need to research it more... I am leaning towards positive as I can't see how an international "hipster" city would be bad for black men since hipster girls tend to be the more open types.... I'll report again once I go back.

Clubs I got into:
Matrix
Watergate
Berghain
Suicide Squad

Clubs I got rejected to:
Weekend
some club next to weekend
Berghain
a few small bars

Someone recommended that I check out Weekend so I took a cab there (cabs are expensive in Berlin). My ass got rejected immediately at the door. I walk and the bouncer says no instantly. The next club I go to the bouncers kept repeating "Can I help you", then I got the message and walked off. One thing I learned is that the bouncers like to ask if you are on the guest list. If you say no, that means you are getting rejected. Getting on the guest list improves your chances of getting into the club.

I definitely could have done better research on Berlin. Some of the clubs (Watergate, Weekend) were ones that were mentioned on this board. The problem with doing the research on Berlin is that face control makes it a risk to travel 20-30 minutes to wait in a 30 minute line only to get instantly rejected at the door.

If I liked the techno/EDM music, Berlin would definitely be a city on my radar for the future. I loved the club atmosphere there. People actually enjoying the music instead of taking selfies (they ban phones in all the clubs I went to). The music and face control are the reason why I doubt I will go back there. Even if I could reduce my face control risk by 80%, I'm not going to debase myself begging to get into the exclusive clubs.

I am not an expert on Berlin (Coverdoc is) but from what im seeing on Facebook you went to alot of the hipster/alternative spots and if you aren't a part of that crowd or the scene its gonna be real hard to get in.. You might have had better luck in the fancier/high end clubs and suiting up.

In all fairness in Cologne those EDM/Hipster clubs don't give anyone trouble to get in. Crazy!

Thats really a shame. If you ever have a chance to swing by Cologne ill make sure you have a better night out.

You see..... I try and tell you brothers on the board... stop calling Germany a pussy paradise. Its easier/better than America for sure but it sure as hell isn't paradise here. I dare to say there could better out there but I dont have the proof myself as of yet.

Im gonna drop my 6 years in Germany data sheet in November when I hit my 6 year anniversary... I need some time to gather my thoughts on this one.

Blazer Game

Emphasis on the pants

Red Pants

This is a popular Southern look, but this guy is from France.

White Pants

The paint splatter is chill, and the blazer is super conservative.

So the take away is

If you're going for the blazer look, and you want to stand out
- colored pants
- white pants

If you want a smidge of style, brownish/beige

If you want to go to work, standard greys and blues.

Will Smith pairs his with T-Shirt and No Pocket Square, but the color palette is dope.

Now you talking my language with the Blazer Game! That's my arena. I'm a bigger dude so I have to strike the right balance between not too baggy and definitely not too tight. Some of the shit I see these models wearing looks two sizes too small. IMO, there shouldn't be too much of a tug when buttoning the top button. Admittedly, I just rock my suit jacket in lieu of a stand alone blazer since I primarily wear suits. You can never go wrong when your shirt is tucked, nice jeans and your belt matches your shoes to a tee. Throw in matching wristwatch band, and pocket square and you're in the 90th percentile when it comes out-dressing most guys.
As far as jeans, honestly I just buy what's on sale and looks good on me. I just bought a nice dark denim pair for $24 that sit just right on my wing tips and look good with a belt.
WestIndianArchie 路 2016-09-07 11:32:00 路 #3143
Tightness makes a player stand out.
Like a lot of stuff in the game, understanding the female mind can elevate you above the rest.

It's not so much that you dress better, but the you appeal to her mentality.

That's why the guy in a tight and uncomfortable H&M suit gets more attention than the guy in a proper fitting Savile Row suit. Even though the Row guy is dressed better.

But your look is just one of the weapons. If you're wearing cool, but you're fidgeting, the clothes are working against you.

This really gets into congruence and developing your overall brand/style.

I'm very comfortable in a suit, but put me in some jeans, Clark wallabees, and a t-shirt I'm even more in tune with my image of myself.

I know that comes through on my approach.

There's a relationship between looking good and feeling good. And there's a learning curve with both.

Definitely agree with comfortabilty. Some guys look out of their element the way they carry themselves in certain fits. You can basically rock whatever, but as long as your comfortable in your skin, it will be conveyed to your audience. I wear bow-ties and suspenders and some of the guys in my office have said they could never "pull off that look." To the contrary, just know you look fly and you can pull off anything.

On a side note, I teach college part-time, I swear some of these young girls are trying to catch. I have to refrain myself from escalating at times, lol. Anyone else in positions where you have to hold back with chicks you work or interact with?
