RE: The Donald Trump thread
Trump is having a strong weekend right after a perfect week.

Live now

I want the campaign to release Trump diet and sleep schedule, HOLLY SHIT, this a 70 years old man giving speeches for hours standing day after day, press conferences, attacked from every side without stopping.

Even young men would not handle the amount of stress, and pressure, even something as simple as the voice would be showing sings of tiresome.

Yet, Trump is as strong or stronger than the day he launched his campaign.

How many calories is he taking every day?
How many calories is he burning every day?
How many hour is he sleeping?

We need datasheet on his routine.

I'm very curious about this as well, and my fiancee, upon me wondering out loud about it, wanted Melania Trump to release her datasheet on how she looks after The Donald so well.

RE: The Donald Trump thread
It's certainly the likes of Trump - and men like Art de Vany, Patrick Stewart, Christopher Lee, among others - who show us that our autumn and winter years are nothing to fear.

Of course, the foundations must be laid in the spring and summer, and it's clear that eschewing degeneracy and corruption have a larger part to play in this than is widely acknowledged. But with Clinton to juxtapose against - even without diseases such as rumours and Parkinson's, which do not discriminate - the way to looking as you should, as opposed to looking like shit, has never been clearer.

At Trump's age, you should be a symbol of power and excellence, perhaps not on Trump's global scale but certainly in your own sphere. The idea that we need to accept degeneration and ever-growing weakness as part of later life is bilge, and we need to cast this mindset off.

But the other thing that seems to be key in driving great men on into their later years is purpose, a mission, which Trump is clearly on. We are made to work, and when we don't work, we wither. The idea of retiring is a death sentence by robbing us of a purpose unless we have one to sustain us as we move towards the end of our time here.

Don't be one of the herd.

Never expect to stop working out. Never expect to stop learning. Never accept living without a purpose. Never stop expanding.

RE: The Donald Trump thread

This was moving. Particularly for me personally since I have roots in Detroit.

Trump concludes his speech at the 11:53 mark of that video and he quotes a Bible verse, 1 John 4 verse 12:

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

As Trump prepares to recite this verse, he notices that the crowd knows the verse already. Trump is pleasantly surprised and he lets the crowd know he's pleased as he says, "You know it? See most groups I speak to don't know that. But we know it. If you want, we could say it together."

Whatcha gonna do Mrs. Bill Clinton? When the Trumpslide runs wild on you?

She's got no answer to this. Nothing. This is humanity defeating inhumanity.

Trump reminds me of Bonhoeffer in Harlem right now.

This is the exact tone in which Trump needs to speak going forward to win the election.

The Trump of this event -- warm and serious -- would be a revelation to so many voters, women in particular. And while he's gotten better with the teleprompter, reading from notes like he does here is the very best way for him to deliver remarks. Trump is an old-school guy, and the written notes suit him, he feels comfortable with them. The teleprompter makes him strain, scowl and shout; the notes give him a warm humanity and the ability to ad lib more naturally while basically sticking to the script.

The more he can adopt this template -- remarks delivered from notes in an animated but normal speaking voice, rather than shouted; a warm but serious, even solemn, tone, with the occasional social gesture of recognition, and the occasional sweet-natured humorous aside; and a rhetoric that couches his fundamental and unchanging themes in the language of love and inclusion -- the better his chances in November will be. It's really that simple.

RE: The Donald Trump thread
^^Very well put.

To me this is the "real" Trump. The scowl guy is part of his brand. You her personal accounts and he is more the reserved and chilled out guy you see here. The biggest line was him talking about wanting to LISTEN more and have DISCUSSIONS more. This plays well into his populist game and it does indeed soften him up as a man who is willing to listen an adapt to what people say and want.

To me this is important because it congrats well to the steady and strong leadership he projects it is the balance you need to quell fears and squash the memes that Trump is some Hitler tyrant on ice thawing out. Real Tyrants don't listen (Hillary), they don't want to have discourse or discussions either or is nearly just for show (Hillary). Trump is showing the human reality of leading and that you have to take complex problems and people and constantly trouble shoot and test and make decisions as you go at times.

I do also agree on the notes. It dumbs him down and a bit and plays up the human hokey side of Trump. He may be a billionaire and successful 1% man be he reads his papers with his fingers modest and slow like any normal human. You could tell he wanted to have his best showing there like any normal human. He looked no different then a dad giving a speech at his daughters skating reception, or a man who is giving a speech at his community board after a award for his hard work or something like that.

Contrast this to Hillary who anytime is around black people panders so hard and starts to try to talk with Black slang and stylings.

We need datasheet on his routine.

In peeling it back now I honestly don't think Trump is working that "much" more then what he used to. He used to always work 6-day work weeks and if following the typical formula of high level men of business and action he was likely already doing 14-16hr days. He likely sleeps 5-6 hours. To him it is routine and he does not know anything else. Like the old man who is locked in to the shift at the plant and wakes up at 4am each day no sweat. My guess Trump is locked in to be up at 5am each day and go hard till late.

He is getting better and better at it. At the start there were some days he looked frazzled and a bit off the step. You get that less and less each time.

He still takes Sundays/one day a week off for family though he throws in debate preparation in that mix as well.

What shows his resilience is clocking all those flight miles. I guess it helps when you have a jet that is like a condo apartment but speaking for myself flying fucks me up. I get groggy and off my balance after being in the air, train is the only mode of transit where I feel the same after. It is amazing that he is doing non-stop flights all over in one day.

RE: The Donald Trump thread
That meet in Detroit was perfect. He should have done the same thing with his immigration speech too. I can already see nuclear-grade shockwaves of cognitive dissonance. That call for a "civil rights agenda" of our time was perfect. Now Trump should call for an end to the federal war on drugs and some serious criminal justice reform as part of that agenda. I've already got a blueprint written up about that. If he would do that in front of a black audience in Philadelphia the optics would be perfect and policy-wise he'd look friendlier to the black community than Hillary, who talks about the "police" problem, but that largely stems from the war on drugs and the number of black men in prison for non-violent crimes is where the biggest problem in the black community lies (aside from the breakdown of the family).

Calling for an end to the federal war on drugs would help big in Colorado as well.

This was simultaneously Trump's best week and Hillary's worst. The shades of 1948 are very strong with how she's just disappearing and expecting a victory while Trump is outworking her by miles, just like I said in May.

Tone Deaf Hillary
Sick Hillary
Crooked Hillary

I'd actually like to see Trump asking people at his rallies if they think Hillary is more tone deaf or more crooked. Is she more sick or more tone deaf? Which describes her better?

While Hillary is definitely crooked and a crook, people don't seem to care and just say "all politicians are corrupt! it's how the world works!"

But saying that she is socially inept, or tone deaf, that rings true right away and people don't like that. I can only watch her talk for a minute or two at a time because she is so bad at talking and bad at public speaking.

Tired is my personal favorite one. Less specific than sick, easier to draw confirmation bias to, and works in multiple dimensions ("Hillary Clinton's message is old and tired"). And tired can easily lead you to conclude "losing it," "crazy," or "sick."

I don't see that happening.

Trump is stridently anti-drugs in his personal life, and how he teaches his family.

Maybe he could be convinced to lighten up on weed. But otherwise, he'll likely continue the war on drugs.

Marijuana should be up to the states like alcohol whereas traffickers of deadly extremely addictive drugs should be shot at the border and then hunted down cooeratively like we did against the Columbian Drugs lords in Columbia... their seized cash can be put towards the Wall.

I doubt President Trump will continue the war on drugs, at least in its current form. It's a horribly inefficient use of government resources, and above all, Trump hates being inefficient.

Legalizing most drugs would actually fit quite well into Trump's policies. If you could legally purchase your drugs at the friendly local cocaine and heroin dispensary, that would basically shut down all the Mexican and South American drug cartels. With no more cartel violence, the citizens there would have less reason to flee their homes, and suddenly the U.S. has less illegal immigrants flooding in from the southern border.

EDIT:
This is the exact same sentiment that Trump himself described back in 1990, which I completely agree with:
Quote:Billionaire New York developer Donald Trump says that legalizing drugs is the only way to win the war against what he considers one of America`s most serious problems.

Trump blamed the country`s drug problems on politicians who ``don`t have any guts`` and enforcement efforts that are ``a joke.`` ``We`re losing badly the war on drugs,`` Trump told 700 people at a luncheon Friday. ``You have to legalize drugs to win that war. You have to take the profit away from these drug czars.``

Trump said tax revenues from a legalized drug trade could be spent to educate the public on the dangers of drug use.

This last week won Donald Trump the election. Case closed, end of story.

There are any number of events that I can point to as a turning point:

The Paris terrorist attacks. Who will be tougher on terrorism?

One of the debates when Trump called out Jeb Bush for saying that W kept us safe after 9/11. That is like saying your team gave up 30 runs in the first inning but pitched well the remaining 8 innings and held the other team scoreless, so the pitching was good.

The linguistic killshots: "low energy Jeb", "sick Hillary", "lying Ted"

And part of it is Hillary herself: her failing health is costing her the election, her mistakes while secretary of state and overall corruption of the Clinton Foundation.

Also, Bernie Bros were pissed when they found out that the primary was fixed.
