4) They do THE WORST THING POSSIBLE and go on a short course of antibiotics....buyiNg maybe 2-3 days worth of pills...

5) ... thereby creating a designer environment for ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANT GONORREAH.

6) THE NEW, IMPROVED RESISTANT STRAIN IS THEN SPREAD because of #1, creating AN ITERATIVE SYSTEM THAT MIGHT AS WELL HAVE BEEN DESIGNED TO CREATE ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANT STDS

"Somebody I know" spent over $125 on three courses of antibiotics before his gonorrhea cleared, that's three week's pay here and many families would starve if the reckless daughter (who may have been asymptomatic anyway) or son called on them for that treatment.

Chicks in the Phils didn't ask me to wear condoms EVER.

I came back to Thailand with 3 distinct STDs:

- Chlamydia
- Ureaplasma Parvum
- Mycoplasma Genitalium

The mycoplasmas and ureaplasma are tiny bacterias that are particularly fastidious.

They take up to 6 months to culture and require a genetic testing methodology to accurately find and diagnose in a reasonable amount of time.

A PCR test in Thailand runs about 5000 baht (roughly $150USD) and you typically have to ask for it because most doctors aren't hip enough to the realities to recommend this more rigorous screening option.

Further, mycoplasmas and ureaplasma lack cell walls and so the typical antibiotics don't work for the most part.

If you're lucky, a course of Azithromycin will knock them out.

If, like me, you've got a macrolide (Azithromycin) resistant strain, you're going to need some heavy duty shit - usually moxiflocaxin, a nasty, side-effect ridden antibiotic from the infamous quinolone group.

For all my SEA brothers out there, know too that many STD strains in the Asia Pacific region are more aggressive and resilient than those found in Europe and Stateside.

It sucks to wear condoms, I know, and I've slipped *once* since getting the all clear.

But guys...wrap it up and don't be a dumbass and learn it the hard way through personal experience, take it from somebody who's been there.

Went to my Doctor earlier this summer for routine checkup and this came up. He told me to always wrap it up, which I have no problem with, and basically go wrapper free if both of us have been tested. As he tends to give me no BS advice that actually works, I tend to follow his advice.

One of the confusing and annoying points that I see is that folks say that latex condoms, have limited effect. I have been hearing that since I graduated high school, from all sorts of different sources. My counter point is that if that is so, then why does the whole medical profession use latex gloves? That is used to specifically prevent the spread of communicable diseases. Even with the point that a hand is not the same appendage as a dick, doctors don't take days off just because they cut their hand while making dinner the night before, do they? Honestly I don't know who is full of shit on this front, so I am not making judgements on what to do.

More than just your dick makes contact with flesh and juices. I got molluscum around the genital region, even though I used condoms. My dick was fine though.

That is not exactly what I was talking about but it does kind of support it. Your dick that was covered by latex was fine. Skin based communicable diseases are the risk that you take. I was honestly referring to diseases where the exchange of fluids is required.

The WHO shift to the new class of antibiotics will not fix that overall problem of bacterial creativity. In some countries, strains of gonorrhea are already resistant to the newly recommended class of drugs.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned back in 2012 that one of two drugs in the class of antibiotics the WHO now recommends, cephalosporins, was in danger of becoming useless to treat gonorrhea, at least in the U.S, and recommended that doctors stop prescribing it.

Since then, the CDC's recommended treatment for gonorrhea has been a dual therapy, with the two antibiotics ceftriaxone and azithromycin, but an analysis in July warned that the bacteria could even become resistant to that combination.

As for when antibiotic options will run out altogether, Teodora Wi of the WHO's Department of Reproductive Health and Research tells the journal Science, "We will have to have new drugs in 5 years, I think."

I got bent out of shape when I was 18-19 due to all the AIDs propaganda and was nervous as fuck going to a planned parenthood to get a test.
