This shit just seems like too much work, unless you're the social-media hooked millennial type who sees taking and sharing pictures as sort of second nature.

Online dating sites are easy because you set up your profile then you don't touch it. You don't need to keep adding pictures and hashtags to keep an ongoing DHV flipbook to entice bitches to you. You set up a handful of good pics then start swiping/messaging/responding.

Sounds like IG is a sort of constant-investment type of online game in terms of trying to get pussy. Having to keep a regular stream of quality photos that you make you seem cool/interesting/sexy.

I've tried making an IG a couple times before. One for one of my bands and one for my studio. Just too much to bother with so I deleted both of them soon after I created them.

I know what you mean. But you don't necessarily need to post new pictures everyday to keep growing. There are tools to automate your Instagram (technically that's against Instagram's TOS but it is very unlikely to get banned). I am currently spending less than an hour per week on growing my Instagram page.

As an artist im trying really hard to grow my following organically and its just not happening. Im not even trying to score pussy or anything, just wanna get my art out there and gain a legitimate following. But I see 16 year old kids with hundreds of likes on their shitty photos and thousands of followers and the whole thing just boggles me.

At the current moment I have about 50 high quality photos of my work and like 75 followers. I'll gain an average of 4-5 followers for every new piece I post.

I admit its quite time consuming, if there was a way I could just backload several pieces in a program and have them released at regular intervals it would make everything more efficient.

One thing Fisto critiqued me about was that I was too focused on my work and there werent any pictures of myself. Im planning on changing that, although im quite repulsed by the attention-whoredom of that route. I sort of echo General Stalin's sentiments about the culture.

Ok, here is one of the best methods to grow your IG. Like I said, it is against the TOS, but it is very unlikely to get banned. There are some other methods to increase your following, but this one is the most efficient and easiest I found.

The idea is to apply basic marketing knowledge to your Instagram account. First, define your target group. Who are you marketing your page towards? In your case this would be people who are interested in the kind of art you make. Next, find an IG page that has many followers who fit into your target group. This will be your source of new followers. Finding a good source can be tricky sometimes. A good idea is to check what other sites your current followers are following or to search for keywords. You want to find a source site with at least 10k followers in the beginning. Even better would be 50k oder 100k. Finally, use one of the automation tools (e.g. Boostgram.com, instagress.com or the FollowLiker software) to mass-follow as many followers of your source sites as possible. Since the people you mass-follow are all interested in the things you are posting on your IG, it is very likely that they will follow you back and like some of your pictures. You can also mass-unfollow everyone who didn't follow you back. Or you can mass-like pictures with a certain hashtag that is relevant to your site. But be careful not to generate too much activity. Especially if your account is relatively new, you shouldn't do too many follows, unfollows and likes, otherwise Instagram will notice that and ban you temporary from following anyone. Start small with 300 follows per day for example and then increase the total amount of activities every week by 100.

Some of the automation tools also allow you to auto-post pictures just like you mentioned (I think boostgram does). Instagress and Boostgram offer free trial versions. I am using FollowLiker, as it has the best functionality.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend to post pictures of yourself. Maybe one or two, but most of your followers are interested in your art and not in your person. If you post a picture of yourself, I would recommend to also include a piece of art or some other reference to art into the picture

Someone wrote a pretty good article on social media trends not long ago, to include Instagram. Building an account may not be that hard - I just got a "like" on a picture from last month by an account that only has 13 posts but 134k followers. No idea who it was, but the account was spam-ish with nothing but a bakers dozen pics of hot babes in bikinis. Yeah, there's likely some kind of gaming going on behind the scenes (paid followers), but I'm not familiar with what's possible in that area.

Dan Bilzarian is a classic example of a guy who built a major following there. Granted, he was kind of a big deal before, but you can follow his example by posting a lifestyle - one that hopefully doesn't consist of pictures of food and your morning latte. No telling how much tail he pulls from IG versus the P4P he's likely doing (nobody can maintain that many HB8s at once), but it certainly can't hurt.

Another side benefit to IG is if you use it to create a better search profile of yourself. Got something in the results that you don't like when you Google your own name? Create an IG account in your real name, post some pics, and those results will usually surface before other less positive information on lower ranked sites. Ditto for Youtube.

It isn't necessary to dedicate yourself 100% to social media whoring to accomplish a little improvement here and there. Don't forget you're probably going to get Googled by some 24 year old overfed HR twat with an attitude the next time you apply for a job, so take this public account idea only as far as you think your career or potential career can handle it.

We can dislike it all we want, but let's face it, if this is where the market is headed, guys will need to react.

Instagress is good for trying it out for a month but FollowLiker is definitely the best and cheapest option if you are really serious about it. You purchase the software only once, so no recurring costs. The downside of it is that the automation only runs when the computer you are running it on is turned on. You would need a VPS to run it 24/7.

I definitely think you are onto something with this.

Today, an Instagram page with 10k+ followers and lots of interesting and attractive photos is basically the equivalent of driving up to the club in a Bentley. We all know girls love to brag about guys that they're hooking up with, and for the younger girls, telling their friends "check it out, I fucked this guy with 15k followers, look at his profile!" is more exciting to say "the other day I went on a date with this doctor who picked me up in a Mercedes". I am not joking... having a profile like that is equivalent to being a pseudo-celebrity in many girls' eyes. For my younger sister and her friends, the number of followers on Instagram plays a huge role in determining their social status within friend groups, and while everybody recognizes the superficiality of it all, they also continue to think in those terms. Obviously I find it fucking ridiculous (as should most males), but that's how it is, and it will only become more prevalent over time.

While I don't yet have an Instagram with thousands of followers, I've heard from multiple guys I personally know that getting up to that level changes the game completely. Will you be able to message all of the hot "model" (*ahem* Dubai *ahem*) 8/9s with 50k followers and get replies? Probably not. But, how about cute 6s and 7s, the type of girls that will reply back ~20% of the time on Tinder? You're basically guaranteed a reply when you shoot them a DM and you have a well-done profile. They'll be shocked that a guy like that is messaging them in the first place. It becomes like shooting fish in a barrel. Sure, you're probably not finding your future wife on Instagram DM, but you probably aren't finding her on Tinder either. It is an amazing way to get laid.

The most difficult part for me (and presumably for most) is to generate enough exciting content to post regularly, thus leading to more followers when posted correctly (appropriate hashtags, etc). While I travel, I'll post lots of good quality pictures, but on a day to day basis, my life isn't exactly filled with photographic moments. And, unlike girls, guys can't just take a bunch of half naked selfies and get thousands of followers based on that alone. I'm still working on it, and look to update the thread over time with some first-hand tips. Any tips from guys that have done it would be greatly appreciated as well.

A VPS is basicaly a virtual computer that is running 24/7. Just like the webserver used to host this forum. So you don't need it if you leave your computer on all the time. I am doing the same. 12-14 hours per day are usually enough to do 1000 follows and 1000 likes.

Sure, the photos are often staged and the settings insincere, but think about the alternative. A dating site can have a couple of profile pics taken five years ago when the girl was still hot, but Instagram by design demands constant new material - there's only so many MySpace angles a girl can take of herself before it's clear she's actually a SIF.

So, while companies like Match Group (owner of Match, POF, OKC...) will probably always be around to some degree, they face a serious problem with the platform model of IG. Match spends millions perfecting algorithms to perfect match ups, yet the fundamental setback with dating sites is everybody lies their asses off about everything - they always have since the dinosaur days of the personal columns in newspapers.

Dating sites tried the picture & paragraph route, then got fancy with targeted questioning for profile info. In fact, the pictures themselves were secondary to the business model - I never heard of anybody getting their OKC profile pics rejected because some reviewer thought they were inaccurate or too old.

IG never bothered with profile paragraphs or questions that can be manipulated - the photos are the primary purpose. Consequently, when it comes to an accurate picture of who you might consider dating, Match and the rest will never catch up as they cannot possibly provide a fresh stream of actual, current pictures of people living their lives.

From the pictures, a person can also get a feel for other aspects of the person in the picture - what she wears, what she likes, activities she does, what her friends look like, etc. etc. Instagram is all about this, and fakers can be quickly detected. Narcissistic as it may be, I would not ignore this trend.

I gave up tinder last year for instagram, i met my last girlfriend off this but since we broke up i havent had much luck off it, just a couple of dates but I would sooner just fault my game and lack of polish knowledge for this. Just some Pros and Cons off the top of my head in comparison to tinder and other online dating platforms:

Pros:
+You aren't filtered out by age or location, so you can hit on girls you wouldn't normally have access to.
+id wager you will have more luck meeting out of towners in surrounding areas who cant get tinder due to the social stigma of having it in a smaller community.
+Easier way to stand out above the rest (minor celeb status, follower ratio etc...)
+You can hit on girls who have boyfriends and cant be caught using online dating.
+Pre Selection, when girls see other girls comment on your photos, like your photos, etc...
+Posting often can create attraction with loose prospects.

Cons:
-People can see who you follow and what pictures you like, so at times you have to be careful
-Not all girls you target will be single (both a con and a pro really) and looking to date.
-Time suck, less enjoying the moment when you want to put time into this, you will feel like you have to post often, like pictures you dont want to, and build a following when you would rather be doing something else.
-Sometimes hard to find out the targets details, age, location etc... unless they post them.
-Hard to find a viable strategy, do you have them follow you first, should you just message them first, do you start with a photo like and wait till they like one back, etc...
-High follow count girls have too big an ego to even bother with, lost in the attention vortex and most likely waiting for that paid trip to Dubai.
-Conversations are less direct, you generally have to approach without the look of the intent to meet with them, afterall it is not "online dating".

If you wonder why we don’t hear more about celebrities taking advantage of apps like Tinder and Bumble, it’s because they’re too busy fucking their followers on Instagram. I like rap because most rappers tell it like it is. Yo Gotti’s song, Down in the DM, educated the world on just how much sex and scandal comes from these Direct Messages on Instagram. And I’ll be damned if I don’t get a piece of that action.

Find a girl you like by searching hashtags and geotags of whatever city you’re interested in. Half the girls on dating apps put their IG handle on their dating profile so you’ve got an option there as well.

You can follow Instawhore accounts like TFM Girls, Hottest of EDM, and Barstool Smokeshows that feature girls from different colleges you can message, but the response rate is very low since they are getting blown up by hundreds of guys once they get featured. Don’t contribute to the chodestream. If you follow these types of accounts, go back several months and message one of the featured girls from 3-4 months ago or longer.

Remember the more followers she has, the less likely she is to respond. To date, I have only had one girl write me back who had over 10,000 followers. And it died after the third message.

Once I find a girl with the preferred follower count of less than one thousand, I hit her with “You seem like a good person to ask. If you only had a weekend in ‘insert name of city’.. where would you go out.”

Also worth mentioning... You should be updating your Instagram with at least 1 high quality picture per day to keep the interest levels up. Two is best (one in the morning and one in the afternoon/evening) but 1 is acceptable.

Ok after a few days, Id like to check in with a brief report.

I found a guy on fiverr to do the above mentioned stuff for $15. The only reason I went with this route was because I found him before I saw this thread.

So far he's only been at it for about a few hours, and my follow count has increased by dozens. Furthermore, these are actually cool people id more than likely follow anyway.

Now, to be frank, I didnt start this venture with the intention to get laid. I wanted people to see my art and hit me up for work in actuality.

In this short time (he still has five days left to work on the project), I have already been hit up for one drawing job. Also a random artist girl opened me on dm, not really my type, but it still shows me some serious dhv/fame game opportunities.

My plan from here, since ive been getting pretty ripped lately, is to have some cool shirtless dhv situational pics and take some advice from the "post better pictures for online game" thread by I BB I think it was. Then, im going to return to the above program but this time have them fixate on hot slutty socal chicks as my target market.

What you guys think?

Hey thanks glad some guys are getting use out of it. And yes, that high follower count can work wonders.

I hesitated on it for awhile because I didn't want people who knew me to call me out and ask me how I got 20,000 followers overnight. But then common sense reared its head and I just made a separate 'secret' Instagram account strictly for pulling hoes.

Would highly recommend. With the recent update, it's easy to switch between your personal Instagram and your "famous" instagram where you have tons of followers and post whatever pictures you want since your friends won't see that account.

There are some decent services out there but FollowAdder is probably my favorite

But, I must admit, the main reason is that these other online platforms are a WASTELAND.

I think the only time Tinder was decent in the last year was last Fall into Winter.
