It's a well-known fact on this forum that:

1) Universities and colleges are among the best places to hunt for young girls
2) Even if you're not interested in them, said girls increase local competition among all women, including those outside universities and colleges
3) As a result of 1 and 2, certain places can be dramatically better or worse, depending on when university or college is in session

With that last point in mind, I think it'd make sense to compile a list of when university and college starts and ends around the world. I'll start:

Poland - starts at the beginning of October, winter break is from mid-December to mid-January, and ends at the end of June, though students are busy with papers and exams from the beginning of May

Ukraine - starts at the beginning of September, not sure about the rest

USA - starts at the beginning of September or August, winter break is from mid-December to mid-January, and ends at the end of April or May, though students are busy with papers and exams a month before the end

New Zealand -

Semester 1: Classes start early March, finish early June. Exams until end of June.
Break until mid July (winter)
Semester 2: Mid July -> late October. Exams until mid November.

Summer break November -> March, a lot of people go home to their families or hang out in the beach towns.

A worthy mention if you're <25 and coming here is Orientation Week (O-week).

O-week takes place one week before the university year starts - usually around the last week of February (varies slightly by city/university). Everyone is looking for new friends, everyone wants to get drunk... so most are very open to meeting new people.

During this period, there's a decent crowd of mostly 18-21 year olds out in town all nights of the week (Fri/Sat are chaotic though, you may actually have better luck on weekdays)... if you are young/look young enough to be in their crowd, you will do well. If I had to make a general remark, quality is not terrible, a reasonable amount of 6-7s and a few 8s sprinkled around, varying of course by city/venue. If you're older however you probably won't be received so well.

You'll also have to deal with a lot of fresher vomit.

Austria: Fall semester is from early October until end of January. Spring semester is from early March until end of June. Holidays are from Christmas until the start of the second week of January and the months February, July, August and September.

Thailand: Fall semester is from August until mid/late December, spring semester from early January to mid/late May.

Peru

Private Universities: Start Mid/late February-Mid/late June, winter break:until mid July. Start: Mid July-Mid/late November.

Public Universities, Institutes: Start Mid/late March-Mid/late July, winter break:until mid August. Start: Mid August-Mid/late December

Peruvians don`travel, just few(super rich class for a couple of weeks), Most of peruvian chicks go to Asia(South of Lima) spend their summer there(late December-early March).

According to this post - /thread-14777...pid1317541 - college in Prague starts in September and apparently ends by the end of May.

Also, college in Ukraine ends at the end of June.

Great idea. Let me contribute:

Hungary: first semester starts at the beginning of September, ends in January-February, second one starts around this time (there's overlapping between different universities, so no real break there) and ends in late May-early/mid June. Also note that exams are held from December to January-early/mid February and mid May-mid June.

Starting mid September and finishing for Christmas early December and then from Late January to early May. Nice long summer break! Spend more time on holiday than at uni- seems silly saying we're paying £9k fees a year not to mention living costs.

I think the middle of the year O week is either the week of 11th July or 18th July, don't know for certain. I'm definitely going to try hit up the bars then.

No China?
It follows American schedule quite closely, actually, just shifted a bit later due to their Chinese NY in Feb:

1st semester: Sept 1st to mid-Jan
2nd semester: March 1st to July

College life is actually pretty amazing in China. Lots of foreign students, even at average universities.

Here is a list ive started compiling.

I came across this thread and thought i would contribute, as this was the precise task i have been undertaking for myself. I have only done the parts of europe i was entertaining visiting. Countries like france, sweden, norway i havent researched. The task took me a few hours to do, but unfortunately i have little time to complete ALL of europe. Maybe others want to throw in their own countries that arent on this list. Anyway, i hope it helps others.

Its sorted by country, alphabetically. The way i approached it was to google the main universities in the cites i wanted to potentially visit. Once i had the name of the university, i would then google: "academic year begins University of Ljubljana". The desired date is normally revealed in the first few search results. Granted some are 2017 start dates, but i cant imagine 2018 start dates being all that different.

I would say that this list has a 5-10% margin of error based on my estimate. ie. there's a 90% chance that universities all over italy start on 21 Sept (Italy: Politecnico di Milano)
