4) you should be able to see good changes by march, how old are you? Do you have a workout partner?
thanks for the advice im gonna start jogging a couple miles every morning, but why do you think that jogging on an empty stomach is good?
i just turned 18 last month.
i occasionaly workout with my brother but he likes to workout at night and i like to in the mornings, so i dont think that me and him are going to start working out together
also do you think its a good idea to do cardio more then 4 times a week?

RE: im trying to get defined abs/arms and chest in few months
(12-06-2011 09:54 PM)ibaguesucks305 Wrote: so ive fallen behind on my workout regime severly for the past 4 months and as a result ive lost a lot of muscle and gained about 15 pounds.im planning to go to colombia some time at the end of march and i want to be in good shape by that time.
as of recently ive decided that im only going to eat organic food, because all of the gmos in all that supermarkets are starting to fucking disgust me and i dont want to put that shit into my body any more, so i decided to go on a fast where i will only eat acai berries, strawberries, apples and carrots for the next 2 weeks (to clense my body, and hopefully get me a little psyched up about getting healthy) and after that i will start to eat a wider veriaty of foods, but im starting to worry that if i do end following threw with this fast then i might lose some muscle mass.
also me, my dad and my brother have just moved into a comfort inn in naples that does not have a gym and im assuming that im not going to get ahold of any weights or find a gym close to my hotel any time soon, so this is also an obstacle in my way to getting in shape.
so my questions are;
1. is it a bad idea to go on a cleansing diet if i am trying to ripped?
2. iyo if i lose a good amount of weight while doing my fast will most of it be fat or muscle? and do you think it is worth it?
3. do you have any work out tips for me considering my position?
4. do you think that if i stick to this that i can get the body i want by march?
and if you have ever fasted or have done a cleansing diet before can you give me a few tips on what to expect
fuck i just relized that i posted this in the Game section of the website... im still unfamiliar with this website and i cant seem to figure out how to move this thread to a different section of the forum... if any of the programers of the site can help me out with this you would be doing me a huge favor. thanks
Don't just work on your arms/chest and abs and definitely don't just focus on your arms. Work your shoulders, back, chest, legs and abs. Your arms will get worked plenty when you do shoulders, back, and chest, although I do like to supplement with a few sets of biceps or triceps at the end of my workout depending on which muscle group I'm doing. Also, like rudebwoy said, don't neglect your legs. Make sure you do squats once a week, as they are pretty much the best overall body workout possible and yea they will increase testosterone more than just about anything else. The easiest way to get in cardio is to run/swim/bike after you lift.
Don't go on a diet. Just start eating a lot healthier (lots of fruit and veggies, especially dark green ones like broccoli and spinach) and eating smaller portions. Start drinking a lot of water and green tea.
I lift 4 days a week.
Monday- shoulders
Tuesday- legs
Wednesday-back
Thursday- chest
I try to get in abs at the end of the workout at least twice a week.
If you stick to eating healthy and stay on your routine, you will see results pretty damn fast.

You are young so 4x a week doing cardio is fine, no more. Running can be hard on your joints so try not to do consecutive days if possible.
Cardio in the morning on empty stomach means you will burn fat and not the food in your stomach. Bodybuilders do cardio in the morning.
As for your workout, 3 main days should be legs, back and chest. The other body parts you can combine with any of these days, don't be a arm/chest junkie. Don't forget you need rest days.
Also stick to the power moves, deadlifts, squats, clean and jerk, shoulder press.

(12-07-2011 05:34 PM)ibaguesucks305 Wrote: hey do you guys have any suggestions for ab workouts? every time i search for ab workouts i usually get the same information.
back when i was working out a lot i was doing about 1000 reps of a few variations of sit ups. i had some results but not as much as i thought i would get.
cause abs are made in the kitchen not the gym. I see fat peckers that do endless ab and core workouts and they can do infinitely more reps of those bs exercises than I can but at the end of the day I got a 6 pack and they dont and I don't do a lick of ab specific exercises. Get your bodyfat down your abs will show up.
I also disagree with this do push ups and get defined garbage, if you can afford to go to Colombia you can find a cheap gym in naples or a rec center something, lift some real weights. You're not going to get big in 4 months but you'll start developing some shape. Truth is most guys even lifting heavy aren't going to get big unless they eat to get big so this fear of weights that some guys have is ridiculous.
You want to lose weight and get fit then it's simple math... burn more calories than you put in. You want to live like a squirrel on nuts and berries without any real significant protein intake you're going to lose muscle, you might lose overall weight but you'll be skinny fat. You want to eat clean eat some organic grass fed beef, free range eggs, shit that'll help you get healthy fats, healthy proteins into your system and help your body become an efficient fat burning machine and get to the gym. This stuff is basic, you can try to find loopholes around it but at the end of the day, compound lifts, 3-4 days a week, don't work the show muscles only, do some deadlifts and squats and see how much your show muscles develop overall... cardio post working out, find out your maintenance calories and set a calorie deficit of 500 cals a day, that'll get you a solid 1-2 pounds a week off your bodyweight, find a macro breakdown that works for you, I use a 40-40-20 myself but using that macro you can design a diet using a program like fitday which is free and get to work and you'll get to where you want eventually. You're looking for a quick fix and a cleanse and all that isn't going to do that for you, you want a quick fix you're going to need chemicals and you're not ready to go there if you can't get yourself to fit on your own.
