It's amazing how Cafe Havana is just one cafe, in a nation of 90 million people, and yet everyone who visits seems to find themselves there. I did when I first arrived, don't know how, somehow there I was. A single cafe frequented entirely by prostitutes is not representative of the country.

I was thinking about throwing together a Greenbelt area datasheet for first time travelers, but perhaps it's best for most people to explore the area on their own. Some ideas below

Greenbelt Area
Greenbelt: When I had a lot on my mind, I would often go to the coy pond between Greenbelt 4/5 and watch the fish and relax. I would do the same by the Chapel, sometimes closing my eyes to pray, especially during mass. Good selection of restaurants around the mall but often overpriced. If you're into Hookah, there's a place in the back of Queens of Bollywood in Greenbelt 3 where you can go. There's a medical clinic on the 5th floor of Greenbelt 5 if you need it for anything. My experience with them has been positive, but just in case, don't let them overcharge you with unnecessary tests: http://www.philippinefailblog.com/welcom...of-horror/

Greenbelt 1 has a good selection of reasonably priced restaurants (such as bicol express) in the lower area of the first floor. Pho Hoa is also in the area, which is a decent price and the bone broth is good if you ever get sick. Cafe Mediterranean has great food, and if you're careful with ordering it can be fairly cheap. Just outside is Gilligan's which has 3 San Miguel for 120PHP specials during happy hour (H/T Antipodean). They also have 2 pharmacies, a day spa (which is overpriced), a barbershop, and a few others.

Ayalla Triangle Park: Short walk from Greenbelt 5 after crossing an overpass then an underpass. Slightly more peaceful than the surrounding area, I would often take dates here if they didn't seem ready to bounce yet.

Ayalla Museum: Not spectacular, but worth the time if you're interested in history. They have an interesting display which explains Filipino history by recreating scenes using small figurines to depict events, with captions below. Excellent garlic Tapsilog (tapas) for breakfast at the museum cafe outside.

Bowling on the top floor of Makati Square near Greenbelt. Very reasonably priced. You can also get DVDs cheaper than anywhere else in the area.

Near Makati Square is Little Tokyo: Best sushi and Japanese food in Manila, hands down. The places often get packed at all times on Sunday, or for dinner unless you call ahead. I would often go for lunch with no problem, no wait. I ended up at Izakaya Kikufuji most times. Had the best sushi in my entire life there, though often the service was subpar unless you hassle the waitresses.

I forget if it's Aguirre or Jiminez street in Legazpi village, but there's a cheap laundry service called Metropole that you can hand off your dirty clothes to and have it freshly pressed in a day or two. There's also a place that has breakfast as low as 90PHP on one of those streets, but I forget the name. Even those who don't like Filipino food should like tapsilog (shaved beef marinated in garlic and soy sauce, egg, garlic rice).

There is a fantastic Sunday market on the corner of Salcedo and V. A. Rufino st with an international crowd of expats, small business owners, and locals. There is lots of unique food being prepared, and tables nearby to sit, eat, and chat on a quiet Sunday. Not many people are aware or make use of this place, and it's definitely worth checking out for unique gifts to bring home to friends and relatives, and to meet other interesting people.

Nearby is Washington SyCip park, which, although relatively small, is very charming. It's very quiet, aside from the occasional smooth rock soundtrack, and had a zen feel to it. Perfect place to have a picnic with a girl.

Burgos/Gramercy
Personally I kinda hate this area haha. It's kind of grimey, lots of money beggars and people selling fake cialis at night, and it's where a lot of the older foreigners go to find freelancers. But there are a handful of things to do here.

Everyone should bring plenty of their own condoms when they go. It's hard to find decent condoms or silicon based lube in Manila, and Pleasure place is one of the few places to find it. They're all overpriced, but I don't like taking chances.

Across the street from Pleasure place is a normal massage place that will do a full body massage for 300PHP. Good value. If you have a bad knot or pulled muscle from working out, they offer Hilot deep tissue massage for 600PHP. There are some really nice day spas throughout Manila that are great for a day of pure relaxation. I personally don't know of any, but I would ask other people here.

For good Chinese, there is Hap Chan on Neptune st near makati ave. Not all Hap Chans are the same quality, and this is one of the better ones (H/T Dagnasty). Nearby is Pasha 2, which was my favorite hookah place in Manila. They also have good Mediterranean food (like spicy chicken shwarma) for a reasonable price. Nearby in Gramercy 71 is a rooftop bar on one of the tallest buildings in the city, good views.

Ortigas area of Pasig/Mandaluyong
SM Megamall: Huge mall complex with tons of stores. Has ice skating and bowling inside. Had one of the best dining experiences my whole time there at a Korean/Japanese all you can eat buffet called Samo Kojin. Think, endless sushi, bulgogi, a carvery with western foods like roast new zealand lamb, endless desserts, huge selection.

Theres also some of the best Korean food you will find in Manila right in Ortigas. Plenty of Korean restaurants scattered around.

Bonifacio Global City
I would give yourself a full day to explore all of BGC. It's really shot up in the past few years and there's a lot to see. It's a very safe and charming area that's easily walkable.

The area east of McKinley pkway is generally considered the lower priced area, which includes market market mall and SM Aura Premier. SM Aura has a garden park on top of it, which is a nice place to watch the sunset.

Cross the street between McKinley and 11th there is a nice open plaza area (Serendra Piazza) with lots of restaurant options for good western food, particularly Italian.

Cross 11th street and you're at Bonifacio high street, one of my favorite places in the city. Lots of high end stores on either side of the central walkway. In between the stores is an open air grassy area which is good to sit down and relax on. Nearby is Terra 28th, another small park that's good for relaxing. Next to Terra 28th on the corner of 26th & 5th is a strip mall that has some smaller clubs, pubs, and restaurants. I went here to avoid the exorbitant cover of Valkyrie or The Palace and had a good time, though there might not be many girls there.

Back to the end of high street, there's the upscale Bonifacio high street central mall, which I didn't have the chance to fully explore. The Mind museum has some fascinating exhibits, kind of like the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, though it seems mostly meant for kids.

Further still is Burgos Circle Park, which is a nice atmosphere with even more restaurant options. From there you can get a cab down to Vienna Piazza (google it), which is an attempt to recreate the feel of Europe in the middle of Manila. There's a small central circle flanked by cafes and restaurants, and inside there's an open air mall on either end of an artificial canal. It's worth checking out for a few hours. North of Vienna Piazza is the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial.

Intramuros
Further away but worth a mention is the Intramuros area. There are museums (National Museum, Museum of the Filipino People), parks (Rizal park w/ Japanese and Chinese Gardens, a scale relief map of the Philippines), and architecture. Intramuros is the well preserved Spanish city, with architecture dating back to the 1500s. Fort San Pedro is largely intact and can be walked around.

If you want to get out of Manila for a few days, you can always take a bus down to Tagaytay for the more mild temperatures and nice views of lake Taal. Another idea is to take the ferry to Puerto Galera on Mindoro.

That is a good move. Once you get out of Manila I think you'll find the women to be sweeter and you'll have higher value. Especially as a 45+ year old guy. Also you'll just enjoy the more relaxed pace of not being in a big city. I've never been to Cebu, but I've read that Dumaguete is very chill.

I've just come back from Makati Square shopping mall. It was a bit untidy with few women.
Then I went to SM Makati, which I think is also called the Gloriana mall, next door to Greenbelt.

And her voice was amazing. Another time I was literally surrounded by 10 giggling SM girls. At that time I had dropped a lot of weight, was really looking my best, and had been going to that store for several weeks. Unfortunately none of them were over a 5. Getting 2 lays for 1000 approaches isn't terrible. It's remarkable you did that many approaches.

I went to Puerto Galera a few years back. I stayed in Sabang. There seemed to be a lot of part time freelancers there at the time, and the place was fairly seedy... but they were easy to pick up, more than one on occasion, and were up for anything.
I would probably recommend going to White Beach over Sabang, in my case it was just the roll of the dice. It was a bit P Burgos, but you work with what you have in front of you.

Speaking of P Burgos, I would also add that they have midget boxing at Ringside, if you are having a fear and loathing kind of night it may be worth it.

The only time I have been to Intramuros was to organise my visa, but the architectuire did stand out... It looks like a worthy place to explore.\

Unless you dive there's no reason to go to Puerto Galera at all. PG has perfected the brothel/dive/drunkard business model though.

There's literally only one good spot there called "twins" and it has some insane current sometimes.

If you get lucky you will see a thresher coming up from the deep though.

edit: Recommend Capt'n greggs for hilarity. Pretty pro diving personnel there though.

Alright guys I'm here in Philippines. Got visa on arrival without any problems.
And +2 in first day. First one was a fattie. Meet to Bang 30 minutes. Next one was actually a pretty girl and put on shit ton of resistance. Time is coming fast. I am heading to Manila from SFO on May 1. Not sure how many days I want to spend in Manila or/and Cebu. Pretty much want to spend 5+ days to a week on dates and a bang mission then take my favorite to more of a touristy vacation for the 2nd week.

I use filcupid and DIA. With dia make sure you look at the pics closely. If your not sure just ask straight up if she's a ladyboy. With filipinocupid, set your seach engine for age your looking for.
