Millions of girls who are fair skinned? Please tell me where your coming up with that statistic. Cause I've been in QC and the "real" manila I see maybe 5% who are pale if that. In the province that pretty much drops to 1%. BGC is literally one of the most wealthy areas in the entire country and maybe 30% of the foot traffic is fair skin.
Metro Manila has almost 12 million people. What is 5 to 30% of 12 million? It's hundreds of thousands to a million, which is what I said. That's using your own estimates.
20 to 40% of Filipinos have partial Chinese ancestry.
And as we both agree, these girls are often found in the same places. They are not hard to find. One place may have 0%, another may have 50%. Go to the one with 50%, if that's what you're looking for.
There is no debate that East Asian countries have more pale girls. Like I said, if all you care about is complexion, go for it. But I think most guys look for more in a girl than her skin color.
Guys who prefer a more mixed/mestiza look will find plenty of fair skinned Filipinas who look distinctly different than an East Asian.
Quote:Like I said before, I've been in SM Aura where I saw 80%+ WNB (including the old ladies). That says something. Granted lots of the foot traffic are the real "middle class" (aka poor in the US) who are window shopping and splurging to eat at the food court and take selfies on the roof since it is located right next to market market.
Compared to the rest of the places in the Philippines you could even classify Market Market as relatively middle/high end. Certainly not a lower class shopping mall. So the video is correct not the "average" filipina. The average is much worse, maybe take a shot from a random town in the province.
You're missing the point. If the "average" girl is hotter at the mall right across the street, why not just walk over? Why even worry about the girls at the lower end mall in the first place?
We are not comparing Market Market to every mall in the Philippines. We are comparing it to the one directly NEXT DOOR.
If you had a job making $100k, would it matter to you that the average income in your city was $50k? Or would you simply enjoy your $100k job?
I just don't get it. If you want pale, middle class girls, go where the pale, middle class girls go and avoid the other places. Go to this mall instead of that one.
One guys says, "there are more pale, non-poor girls here than I could ever hope to sleep with or even talk to". The other guy says, "there are more dark, ugly girls here than attractive, therefore it's a bad place".
It's really that simple. Get this... I've never actually been to Market Market or SM Aura. Yet I could already tell you with certainty (which you just confirmed) which has the better looking girls.
How could I do that? Because the trends are very distinct and carry over to every major city.
Quote:Also considering greenbelt/bgc cover maybe 0.1% of the land in the Philippines, I say its highly valid 99.9% of the Philippines has poor infrastructure, air pollution, corruption, safety issues, etc.
BGC / Makati is NOT middle class. It is where the 1% live. Maybe middle class in the american sense. Middle class you can argue is Pasig and QC, at least for Metro Manila. Yes there are millions of middle class citizens in Manila... which are making poverty US wages.
I'm just giving a second thought from someone who lives and works here, instead of adding to the hype train. Everyone keeps going to greenbelt and then extrapolates their opinions on the country from living within the 0.1% of the country which is actually 1st world. Granted everyone who can afford it, including myself, wisely keeps in the bubble, but that doesn't change the fact that 95% of Manila is a plain 3rd world dump hole.
I've lived in the Philippines for over two years and almost none of that was in Manila, man. When I was in Manila, I didn't stay in Makati or BGC either.
Again, why does it matter if you don't like 95% of the country if you're living in the 5% that you do? I just don't get that mentality.
How does it affect you? Just don't go there.
Quote:Put it this way, in a country of 100 million how the hell is it possible that most jobs paying US middle class salaries go to graduates from the same 4 universities, whose class size maybe tops 10,000 total if that per year.
Thoughtgypsy broke this down literally a couple pages ago, and others have discussed it in the past.
Middle class in the US is not the same as middle class in the Philippines. Even if we were to compare incomes directly, completely ignoring purchasing power parity, $48,000 would be the median HOUSEHOLD income in the US. Yet you are focusing on individual incomes, while ignoring the fact that the average household is almost twice as large as the US (2.6 vs. 4.6).
What we are talking about here is a standard of living. A "middle class" Filipino is one who lives in a decent house, can afford taxis or a decent car, can afford to go out to eat and take vacations, etc. They're not rich, but they have a decent life. There are many, man Filipinos like this.
You're talking about 4 universities, yet there are something like 20 universities in Metro Manila alone where the tuition is $2k+ (dollars) per year. Most of those students are going to be middle to upper class.
There are also like 5 Ateneos and many other prestigious universities around Manila and the country that you didn't name.
You're also not including the number of Filipinos who own their own business. You're also not including all of the people who work and live abroad. You're also not including the multitude of other jobs that pay a decent wage based on standard of living.
Even girls who work in call centers can afford a decent standard of living, as long as their paycheck is not supporting their entire family.
Quote:There is room in a 120+ page thread for different opinions. Yours is different then mine, that's what the thread is for. By all means post how nice this place is, after all its your opinion.
Never did I say "how nice" it is. I even said the average girl is not attractive. The country has plenty of problems. Yet there are ways to minimize those problems, as I mentioned.
I just like to keep things in perspective, is all.
It doesn't matter where I am, I am always going to be saying: What are the advantages? What are the disadvantages? Are the disadvantages as bad as I think? Is there a way I can minimize the disadvantages and optimize the advantages?
In the case of the Philippines, minimizing the disadvantage is as easy as walking across the street to a different mall. Or leaving your house at low traffic times. Or living in a different condo or area. Or learning a few simple Tagalog words.
If you don't like the country, more power to you. But I see so many guys here who simply refuse to make even the minimum amount of effort to get the most out of their experience. They'd rather complain about their problems then apply simple solutions to alleviate them.
I don't see how that helps anyone. And locals pick up on it.
