Is it true that pepper-spray is classified as a firearm over there? I heard that if a cop uses pepper spray there he gets suspended pending an investigation the same way he would if he fired a gun.

You could always pick up some criminal identifier spray, it comes bundled with 2 rape alarm keychains for only 30 GBP.
