Just had my second date since arriving here Took her home but she saw a coffee cup with lipstick on it standing next to my bed. The date ended shortly after.

I saw someone mentioning here there are ATM's where you can get money without a transaction fee. Couldn't find the original post though. Which bank is this?

Wish I had knew this before. I can confirm some of the comments. I don't trust safety measures there at all so I'll be moving wednesday. If any of you can connect me with brokers or other middleman who can help me with an apartment under 500USD for a month I'd be grateful. Going to go to several buildings now (Jazz, something near greenbelt), see if I can tip my way into a connection.

I get the sense that all is not what it seems in the phillipines...

HSBC is the only one without a transaction fee and it also has maximum withdrawal of 40k which is good as the others are all 10k or 20k at a push. It's on Ayala Ave opposite Ayala Triangle and maybe a 20 minute walk from Gramercy.

The area is seedy but it's convenient and probably the best value for money area in Makati, especially if you'll just be there short term. Just because it's so close to Greenbelt, a short night taxi to the Fort and there are countless bars, restaurants, shops and even a mall and cinema on your doorstep.

As well as on the ground, check out olx.ph for rentals. The vast majority of them are long term though. Airbnb is probably your best bet for short term.

What do you mean by all is not what it seems?

I got the sky cable php2600 50mbps plan last month in Davao, must say that I am really impressed, no more throttling on torrents etc. and internet speeds are reliable. Ping is around 70ms on ps4...

@dream, thanks for the info man. If u still here and u see me, hola and I buy us a beer.

Third date. The girl pursued me aggressively through text. Upon meeting, she is fat. I decide to run. Then I remember that practice makes perfect.
I tried a new strategy, mainly leaning back to see if she will start to chase more. It does happen. After one hour I get up and leave without announcing. She follows, all the way through to the condo. It is not an exciting conversation and she is not an exciting person, but that gives me a chance to try some new things.
I think that at the end of the day experimenting with different ways to do dates (instead of pulling from nightgame like I do normally) is just as valuable as if I have sex with a few hot girls here.

Fourth date: got the flag.
Incredible easy and felt like dates at home when I'm "pre-selected".

Am I the only one who gets a rock hard boner when a pinay says "na" ?

Some of them speak with American-ized accent, I don't like that. It just sounds... entitled.

I love the Tagalog accent overall, but read "babe I want you to cum naaaa" with a Tagalog accent. Wowza.

It's a divine act that I didn't knock anyone up.

My turn on is when I briefly raise my eyebrow, slightly suggestively, and they do it back. Like you're pinging each other with your (dirty) thoughts. Anyone who spent lots of time in the Philippines will know what I'm talking about.

Question for anyone who has rented long term in the Phils: have you been able to make arrangements for paying rent other by post-dated check? I don't feel comfortable paying that way, but most online ads stipulate it.

This x1000. I had no idea about Gramercy aside from some people here recommending it and the building looking amazing. After passing through the lobby a couple times you will realize it's where all the creepy old whore mongers stay. Also if you walk around there you will see its surrounded by hookers bars and massage places. I'm not against guys paying for pussy but I'm puzzled why any white guy in the philippines would do it.

Honestly, the area is notorious, but I think you guys are laying all this stuff about Burgos and Gramercy area on a little thick. As far as these types of locations go, it's not THAT bad (assuming you're not dirctly in the armpit of Burgos, which in itself can be good for a laugh). Is this your first time in a Southeast Asian city or something?

I mean, even around Gramercy, it's obvious whoremonger territory - no argument there. And lots of old guys with young chicks.

But it feels a lot safer and toned down than many red light areas in comparable SEA cities. Also seems to be more blending of local culture and Makati Ave culture than a lot of these types of places, especially, again, once you get off Burgos - for example, the mall adjoining Gramercy is your run-of-the-mill high end mall with some especially fantastic places to eat up on the top floor. You won't even feel like you're in a red light area at all when you go in that mall.

Right next to Gramercy is A.Venue marketplace, an open air night market with lots of good Filipino grub and live bands almost every single night. Definitely lots of the local pros popping in there for dinner, so not necessarily a place to go chasing girls, but a good place to catch some tunes and a few beers and a funny gayboy miming show, even bring a girl if she's not so uptight as to think she needs to make a 5 block detour around anything Makati Avenue.

Normal folks who work in the area frequent the marketplace, and you also see other Asian tourists coming through.

I'm not suggesting go chase tail around this area (though you will find plenty of moneyed girls in the surrounding malls, coffee shops, etc), and I was puzzled even why 71Gramercy was pushed as a place to network with locals (I'm assuming it just changed since that post was made).

But "stay the fuck away" from this area "1000x" is a tad melodramatic

You're not going to catch a case of sleazy sexpat if you stop by the area for a couple brews, breeze through the old Hooters, and maybe pop into one of the Arab places for some shisha and a kebab (one directly there on Burgos has the best damn kebab I've ever had). In fact, I've had three forum members come meet me in this area so far (five if you count the two I bumped into randomly), and I don't think any one of them would say they felt uncomfortable in the slightest where we hung out.

The four who met me at a local drinking establishment I frequent would probably even say there were girls working and dining there that were well worth hitting on.

There are a couple good places to play pool or go catch tunes as well. I highly recommend catching the show at Strumms if you get a moment - it's a nice local spot with some of the most solid bands in town and ocaissional celebrities popping through. Recommended to dress halfway-decent if you don't want to feel out of place. Decent place to take a date for wine.

Finally, I'd say Jazz Residences, which is walking distance from Gramercy, would even be worthy of consideration for those looking for condos in Makati (it's just far enough away from the madness to not cramp your style).

http://jazzresidencesmakati.com/

[Image: 05%20Jazz%20Residences%20Makati%20-%20am...s%2001.jpg]

I almost never stay in areas like this. I've long been one of the big proponents on the forum for getting as far off the beaten track as possible. So I don't promote the idea of anchoring down in a tourist area.

And just about any local you meet who isn't in this area will bristle if you say you're staying here, which is one major reason I agree with the sentiment to find a place somewhere else.

But let's not blow things out of proportion.

I think you missed my point. I'm not saying you should never set foot there. It's just not a good place to stay for a short fuck trip.
  • Whoremonger capital of Manila
  • Dirty streets
  • Smells like jeepney exhaust
  • The entire area is basically slab of concrete
  • Far from the open feeling and park-like experience of the Greenbelt area
  • No train station, hard for girls to get to you
  • I saw a guy get car jacked at gunpoint within my first day of living there. My girl got scared.
  • I saw a random dude chasing someone down with a shotgun my last day. My girl got scared.
  • My girls were overall more nervous meeting me there than in Greenbelt.

Proximity to A.Venue, Time club, Z Hostel and El Chupacabra were the only good things about living there.

It's not the biggest shithole in SEA or even Manila of course. I've been to a lot of suburbs from Taguig to Las Pinas, seen a lot worse places.

But for the aforementioned reasons, a single guy looking to get his dick wet during a short stay should definitely stay near Greenbelt and absolutely not in this area. I stayed near Greenbelt for the first half of my trip and had more than 10 dates with the exact same "Meet girl > Random Greenbelt bar > Walk by cafe havana and shoot a hooker joke (and subtly rub it in that I'm not like those sleazy old fucks) > Walk back to condo > Drink in the balcony > Seduce > Bang" recipe, didn't lose a single bang. I had a little more than 10 dates in the Burgos area too and couldn't bang 3 of them.

Therefore I stand by my point. If you're a Phil newbie going to Manila for a short term fuck trip;
- stay near Greenbelt
- make sure your place has a balcony
- make sure your place has a good view
- make sure your place has public transportation nearby
- don't stay in Burgos

Greenbelt is awesome for building comfort. The open feeling of Greenbelt and the Triangle Park makes things easier when meeting online game girls. Same reason a Miata pulls more chicks than a Challenger, hamsters want a park bench not a prison.

Optimize your logistics. Fuck more girls.

^ I agree with everything you're saying (as I stated in my post), but the language in your previous comments was a lot more melodramatic.

Just trying to maintain some balanced perspective here to keep the forum info accurate and not paint some cartoonish picture of what it's really like on the ground.

It reminds me of all the people who act like anyone who goes to Pattaya is a whoremonger, ignoring the fact that Pattaya is a large city with all the first world amenities and much larger than the slimy area it gets its reputation for. I've never been to Pattaya but even I know that image is misleading.

All that stuff about guns, well, I've been here months and have not heard about or seen anything like that, so I guess you were just lucky.

By the way, I think it's ironic that you're essentially on a "short fuck trip" and yet look down on all the whoremongers. Also, I think you were one of the guys earlier in this thread who was trying to paint all of Greenbelt as sex worker territory, but now you correctly recommend it as a nice area.

You seem to be a guy who thinks in black and whites.

One more time for the record, though...yes, Greenbelt is far more ideal a place to rent and condo and to meet up with your dates.

Jazz Residences mentioned above is not a bad alternative and also won't freak girls out. There's a Coffee Bean right next door that makes for a safe place to meet a date before dragging her up to the pool or room. There's also an adjoining mall and another mall, as well as parks, within walking distance.

I never claimed all of Greenbelt was sex worker territory, I think my post was a bit ambiguous and I was too busy at the moment to clarify. It's just Havana, Seattle's best next to it and some of Spicy Fingers that has prostitutes. Granted there's a lot of prostitutes roaming Greenbelt at night but it's not at all like Burgos where the chicks were afraid to walk, even in my company. I don't have a problem with people who P4P. It's just that it's counter productive for fucking purposes if a girl associates me with the 80+ whoremonger crowd.

Lastly, pool. Add "should have a pool" to my list. I fucked a couple girls in the public condo pool at night and they all loved it.

I have yet to see anything under $50 a night be enjoyable for short term purposes. Cheapest central Makati condo I've seen on AirBnB was $35 a night. If you stay 20 nights it's a $300 difference. If you can afford to travel halfway around the world, pay $300 more for your accommodation and make the best of your short trip.

Prices above are short stay. Long term, I heard you can live at Serendra (BGC) for $700 a month. An old friend of mine told me he lived 20 minutes walking distance from Greenbelt for 20.000 peso a month, though I haven't seen the place so I don't know how good it would be.

You guys may also want to keep in mind that even if you're not staying a full month, you may actually save money by paying for booking place for a full month on airbnb. Nice little hack I think people don't often keep in mind.

Do the math on the difference before forking out the nightly rate.

If you're going to really be here long-term and don't mind a lease, check out rentpad.com.ph. Personally I'd rather pay a little extra booking a place for a month-to-month than lock myself in.

I report them.

That puzzles me, as tinder actually has an option to change your gender, the only option they have built in that lets you manipulate your personal information (the rest is up to your fb account).

So I doubt they would be listening to any 'reports'.. also if the person in question doesn't state he's trans, there is no way to prove it so I guess they can't ban him.

If he does state he's trans personally I feel no resentment, I just swipe left and that's it.

The bigger problem is the prostitutes imho. The amount of p4p girls seems to have risen 20 times fold during the past year. And they are also much more aggressive (contact you a lot).

I usually have a good eye for them but it requires at least a short convo to 'make sure'.

It's an annoyance. Tinder has gone to shit in many places though. In the US it's bot-infested, here the prostitutes show up in person ha.

I've also had the dubious pleasure of shoring, without wanting to. Since only after the fact, the girl bothered to mention she's a call girl.

Granted she accepted that she won't get paid since it wasn't agreed upon, although she still gave it a try with the speech of 'maybe give me some money for food' etc.

Wasn't the best experience overall, although hopefully I learned some lessons. The signs were there but I was too inexperienced in dealing with such girls to see them.

Anyway just a pointless rant.
