First time to Philippines so... I will be spending 11 nights there and 2 have to be in Manila. Would you guys recommend 9 in Cebu to really get comfortable there and also limit the pre-trip pipelining required for two cities? Or would you split it 6/5 to maximize the pool of girls? I am good at internet game and bad at day/night game so I plan to do almost all of my work on Tinder/FC/OKC/DIA. Thanks gents!

Where are you coming from? 11 nights will go by faster than you think. The first day is probably a write off, you'll be battling the worst jet lag of your life and not have the energy to go out. Needing to fly in and out of Manila is probably worth most of another day.

What makes you want to go to Cebu so much more than Manila? Do you already have a girl lined up there? The traffic isn't as bad, but still pretty bad in Cebu. Honestly, if it were me, I'd just stay in BGC or Greenbelt in Manila.

CleanSlate dropped solid info on the tourist visa. One thing I'm not positive on, is the 3 year maximum policy. I think that resets if you make a border run, so in theory you can live there indefinitely on a tourist visa as long as you keep renewing with the BoI. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Student visa, though you might not be able to take your degree many other countries.

There is also the retirement visa. If you're over 35, you'll just need $20,000 to drop in a bank there, though I think you won't be able to touch it unless you want to leave. Alternatively, you can deposit $50,000, which I think you can withdraw, or invest in real estate there. Technically, foreigners can't own land, but you can own a condo provided that 60% of the residents of the complex are Filipino. If you're over 50, you'll only need to bring $20,000, or $10,000 if you've got a pension.

Or the Special employment visa. If you can open a business there that would be sustainable and able to employ at least 10 Filipinos you can get the visa.
http://immigration.gov.ph/visa-requireme...generation

There's also the Investment Visa, but it requires substantial bankroll. It provides permanent residence provided you abide by the terms. $75,000 if you dump it into domestic infrastructure investment projects, $200,000 for certain service sectors (think building a hotel).

If you have Filipino relatives (grandmother, father, etc), there are also many other options which escape me right now.

I posted this in another thread, but probably more appropriate here. Thoughts?

Race mixing is already prevalent Filipino culture. The Spanish very rarely brought women with them on their conquests, and were very open minded about fathering children with the locals wherever they went. Many children were sired of various combinations of local Malays and Spanish.

When the Spanish first arrived, Chinese merchants played a large role in the commerce of the Philippines. In order to avoid competition from foreign influences, the Spanish gave the merchants an ultimatum that if they wished to remain in business, they must renounce their Chinese heritage and marry with the locals. Many of them did, and produced children of Han and Malay descent.

Over the following centuries, couplings of diverse lineages took place. Towards the end of their governance of the Philippines, Filipinos of mixed ancestry had built up wealth and influence, gained high levels of literacy and formed a burgeoning middle class within their society. Eventually they helped overthrow Spanish rule, and began agitating for independence, which was secured in 1946. When the Philippines became an independent state, the Illustrados (the multiracial leadership) assumed the role as attorneys, statesmen, business leaders, and celebrities.

To this day, most politicians and celebrities have a mixed race appearance, and feature prominently in pop culture. Because the elite of their society are mixed race, they are highly regarded. Children of mixed couples are accepted, perhaps even aspired to. The levels of mixing were so prevalent, many questionable family rumors of mixed ancestry run rampant: "Oh look, your baby's got a pointy nose, maybe that's from your Spanish great great great grandfather on your mom's side."

To a poor Filipina, having a mixed baby is a fantasy, she loves imagining giving birth to a future Anne Curtis. But I have noticed an underlying hatred of Filipino guys among some poor Filipinas who had their heart broken at a young age. They will brag that they don't date Filipino guys. I would stay far away from these kinds, there is usually a lot of emotional baggage involved.

The middle and upper class attitude to mixing with whites is in my opinion, apathy. Being white is nothing special to them, in fact it can be a negative if you fit the stereotype of a backpacker or a player. If you can avoid a lot of those negative associations, avoid PDA, and show some enthusiasm for their culture, their circle is more accessible. You're still most likely to the land the washed up ones, though.

You're right for the most part but there's actually a lot of pure blood ethnic Chinese filipinos. The richest business families in the Philippines are usually ethnic Chinese with not much mixing going on. Chinese filipinos were actually allowed to keep their own last names that's why you see so many Tans and Chus.

The older elite families of the Philippines are definitely mixed race though. The higher you go up in the elites the more spanish mix they have. There's actually not much spanish blood in most normal filipinos contrary to popular belief. They adopted spanish last names but that doesn't mean they are all mixed.

The idle rich/upper class set of the Philippines are usually from these older families. They are the types you see in show biz, politics, and around town flaunting the money. The business set (ethnic Chinese) are usually more conservative about showing off wealth for a lot of reasons.

Most filipinos have malay type ancestry and there's a lot of similarities between Filipinos, indonesians, and malaysians.

Well I'd fly into Cebu from my connection in Seoul. Then go to Manila later for a non-gaming appointment so I wouldn't waste a day at the airport. (Flights not booked yet, just plotted)

Thanks for the advice on Cebu vs Manila. I just read all the threads here and it sounds like it's a cleaner city with less of us, and maybe less expecting P4P too. Am I wrong? There are no threads directly comparing the two cities so I did my best. Thanks gents!

Just watched it. Its a great movie and has won many international indie film festival rewards.

This was a decent movie to watch after being in the Phillipines since it's familar, but am I the only one that noticed it was a rip off of training day?

I'm curious about others' thoughts on spending 11 nights pipeling in Manilla or if I should split time and go to Cebu too to pick off the low hanging fruit at both places? Any advice is always appreciated!

11 nights isn't nearly enough to run out of low hanging fruit in either place. Ergo you should plan around logistics and time - which in all likelihood means doing just one of the two.

Arrived in Manila this evening. Was a bit taken a back first, felt similar to my first time New York.

I got a condo in a posh tower in Makati for a few days. It's overpriced but had to try it. The pool and other facilities seem really nice though.

Decided to go out for a bit. I don't know the scene yet so I just went for the first club that I found to be open. Because it was january 1st it took a while to find that one, but the atmosphere was overall good and enjoyable. however, it set me back 20+ euros for entrance and 4 drinks - so I guess I'm in the westerners part of town.

I got quite a lot attention from the 20+ party goers there without having to do anything. I didn't bring anyone home. My mistake.

When a girl was escalating me some bouncer gave me the evil eye. I got the sense that it may be somewhat frowned upon, although the rest of the staff was quite friendly and welcoming (just as the party goers, was getting approached continuously).

The payers who are night gaming here, what are your favourite clubs at this point in time? Where is the place to be if you have a calm, take her home style?
the Thing 路 2016-01-01 16:25:00 路 #2589

Don't bother. You can smash 5s and 6s left and right with day game or online "pussy to order", but in night clubs the same 5s and 6s will be way more uptight, egos inflated due to hordes of white guys circling them and most likely be with a platoon worth of cockblocks.
If you want to same night lay those sexy 9s and 10s you see in posh clubs, you better have a BALLER entourage and social standing as rather than dancing on the floor, they'll be sitting in private tables or up in the skybox and they will NOT come home with you unless they already know you or their social circle vets for you.

I've been searching the forum so much I can tell you that if there is no username here of 'greenbelt hotel'! (accidentally used username instead of keywords)

Is there any difference between Greenbelt and The Fort for a guy mostly pipelining? I did read a comment about better transit like jeepneys in Greenbelt so it might have an edge? Or is it just finding a cheap/awesome hotel between the two? Any particular favourite hotels? Thanks chaps!!!

(and I followed the advice of thoughgypsy and LeapLeap for staying only in Makati so I am listening and learning! Just wasted a lot of time reading on Cebu!)

Both are good areas and you have plenty of places to meet and malls to go to. I would say the fort is more clean and less pollution, but probably more expensive. I would not worry about transportation at all. You can order an uber for under $5 to go a decent distance. I think I normally spent $2-3.

The best thing to do is get a hotel as close as you can get to a coffee shop or cafe so that when you invite a girl back there's less hesitation.

Yeah, it's stritcly mobile to start but it's still better than nothing.

That first article you linked to is great snapshot of how shit works in the Phils.

- Lazy dog from NTC says ""We must preserve the continuity of what's going on right now with PLDT and Globe as the two leaders in fast and reliable internet connection. Having a third party from a foreign country will have serious ramifications with how the pricing, inclusive or not of taxes, is done," he added."

Translation - We're deathly afraid of real competition in the Philippines and having shitty, overpriced internet is good enough for the nation. Besides, how are we gonna extract money and bully this foreign company?

- Lazy dog Nuevo also told the press, "the NTC -- let me say it in Filipino -- gusto lamang namin na tangkilikin ng mga Pilipino ang sariling atin." Claiming that the NTC only wants the Filipino people to support their own and not the Australian telco."

Translation - Our HK and Indo masters, who really own PLDT, don't want competition either. And since the NTC works for PLDT and Globe they get what they want.

The largest share holder of PLDT is a HK based company and the second or maybe first is a 'conglomerate of companies' owned by Indo tycoon Anthoni Salim. It's nearly impossible to see who owns it actually because of the company's structure is set up to go around the no foreign ownership rules. It's not in anyway a 'Filipino company' at this point. http://www.pinoydailyjournals.com/busine...-pldt.html

Your second two links also illustrate why PLDT and Globe are scared. Telstra actually owns sea cable infrastructure and would have the ability to lay down their own cables in country considering their resources. Potentially they could set up an infrastructure free of PLDT. That's what the country really needs - a true PLDT competitor. Globe just rents bandwidth from PLDT.

This Telstra situation is a typical example of 'shit that will keep the Philippines poor as fuck" I'm actually shocked they let them in the mobile game at all, but I'm sure they will hamper them at every turn there too.

Stay near Greenbelt, the Triangle Park (lots of jeepney and bus stops nearby) and Ayala train station.

It's not about your transportation, 80% of the girls you'll be meeting will be taking the train or a bus to you and the easier they can get to you, the better.

Make damn well sure your place has a balcony too.

Stay the fuck away from Gramercy or the Burgos area in general.

Tried to set a date with a few Tinder girls. Got one to meet up at coffee shop. She was tiny and looks-wise not spectacular, but I decide to hang on anyway. It's my first day after all.

Within 45 minutes to my place, After an hour of comfort-building clothes have come off but then she informs me she is on her period. Normally I don't care, but I decide to veto this one as to prevent any possible STD exposure. Besides, I have to pee. So much for the first lay within 24 hours.

Got a number from a girl in the mall that I really liked. And there was this really sexy looking security guard at another mall. Damn, that girl was hot.

Tonight nightgame.

Also if you walk around there you will see its surrounded by hookers bars and massage places. I'm not against guys paying for pussy but I'm puzzled why any white guy in the philippines would do it.

The guy Henry who is somewhat famous in the PI and Dumaguete posted this on FB. The guy had apparently PTSD.
Quote:Murder of Veteran and Photojournalist Phil Prins in front of Zanzibar, Dumaguete City

The recovered footage shows the attempted murder of US citizen, veteran and photojournalist Phil Prins in front of Zanzibar during the early morning hours of Saturday Dec 26th, 2015. Prins' was attacked by a group of unidentified Filipino men which some of are believed to be employees of the said establishment. Prins' got struck to the head for at least 30 times leaving him lethally injured and unconscious.

After several days of fighting for his life at the ICU of Silliman University Medical Center Prins' succumbed his injuries on his birthday, Dec 29th, 2015. According to the source all assailants were identified and the police is currently in the process of apprehending the said. Additional sources claim to have been notified about several members of the US army that were heading to Dumaguete City. This might lead to the assumption that acts of retaliation might be immanent.

Unfortunately Prins' seem to have been suffering from PTSD but engaged himself in several humanitarian projects such as working with local orphanages in the Philippines. He was one of the few photojournalists traveling to the island of Leyte a few days after it got devastated by super typhoon Haiyan back in 2013 leaving at least 10,000 dead and more than 22,000 missing.
