I'm in LA. The average quality on OKC is a joke (ignoring the obvious bots with sex solicitations/kik profiles as they're always hot ). I have good pics and the girls that spontaneously message/view my profile are quite bad. WNB 90% of them. Despite that, there are still some cuties to be found. It's a slow roll, sometimes I get no traction for weeks and others like this week I get a few numbers from quality girls.

One helpful tip is view a bunch of profiles quickly every night. Some of those girls will check you out in return and then send them something along the line of "just looking but not gonna message me?!", that always gets a conversation started. However insignificant it seems, I've noticed mass-viewing profiles and getting girls to view yours in return is usually enough of an investment to solicit a response versus messaging cold.

Also, use the "who's new" filter to try to catch new girls before they get jaded with shitty online dates.

Strikes me as just a garden variety timewaster. With girls that are just pinging you with one line responses, you should push for a phone number as quickly as possible to weed them out. Nine times out of ten they'll ghost on you immediately after you do that.

Sadly, if you spend any time doing the online thing you'll have to sort through a lot of girls like this. Hit them with a "Hey, you seem pretty cool. Why don't you give me your # and we can meet up this weekend for drinks" and boom, they're gone.

Just FYI your response to the "what are you looking for on here" shit test was a little weak. When a girl says that in my experience they're testing your neediness/creeperness, to make sure you're not going to be like "I WANT A GIRLFRIEND WHO WILL LOVE ME FOREVER!", or imply that you're looking for 'hookup' (even if that's exactly what _they_ want!) I wouldn't say "I'm here looking for girls" (I mean, of course you are, but it makes you sort of sound like a player) and I certainly wouldn't bring my sexual orientation into it! When they hit me with that, I usually am just vague and say "I'm just going with the flow, trying meet someone cool and see what happens."

That's the aspect I dislike most about online dating - I know that every time I send a message, even if they just read it and don't respond, I'm validating these girl's existence. "Hee! That one likes me! I'm going to play with him a bit.." The process makes me grit my teeth sometimes.

You have to be a little interesting/witty to intrigue her, but I do my very best to limit that and keep it businesslike as well. Don't add to the validation party any more than you must.

One thing I'll add though, Griffin, is that if you'd really wanted to pull it off, I would have tried being a little less "businesslike" and more playful. Yep, I totally get what I did wrong. But I wasn't that into her and was a just hoping for an easy bang. It was 1am and I was pretty tired too.
