Yes, Troublemaker, after being in the NE of Brazil and Manaus, it will be hard to get used to the flaking in Colombia. It was not so bad in Barranquilla, but that was because I had been in Cali right before.
It is at epidemic proportions, as you say, and part of me would prefer to live in Brazil.
Though, in the end, when you add all things up with colombian women, you come out winning. And, it is easier to invest in Colombia than in Brazil for me.

I lived in Miami for 8 years before I started traveling full time and the quick answer is no, unless you go pretty far west and get lucky to find girls who are brand new from Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia or Peru before they become too accustomed to Miami. Or unless you're really tall/good looking, which means you pretty much kill it everywhere you are. Miami definitely has the most beautiful girls in the country if you like latinas, but most of them very quickly become "American" latinas.

Latinas in Miami will put out if you have game/money though.

If you're socially awkward and don't do well with women back home, Colombia could be tough, it's entirely possible to go there for two weeks and not get laid, especially if you're chasing girls on Tinder in Medellin.

Appreciate both you and LINUX putting this into perspective and normalizing this thread for me. I was starting to think maybe all the people involved here were male models or something and that this level of success wasn't possible for mere mortals. I'm going to stay positive and keep working on my Spanish and my game. I need to not let my shitty Spanish hinder my game.

I'm heading down to wander all around Colombia in late January for a month, starting in Bogota and then Barranquilla for Carnaval. You going to be there at that time, Scotian?

If you have some game, it's not difficult to get laid in Miami. I had 10 chicks in a little over my first month there. The problem is you see 9's and 10's on the regular in Miami. Banging an "8" is only so satisfying when you saw a Victoria Secret model sunbathing topless on South Beach 2 hours earlier.

That's not me at all, I like classical music, opera, poetry, and occasionally do tons of stuff you guys would consider beta. I'm also a very passive and not a loud and dominating type.

In reality, he's a self-actualized guy living the exact type of life he wants to. This and the details of his style - combined with fucking 300-400 (I'm guessing here) make him one of the best playboys worldwide. He's one of the best, but he isn't too different than most guys with their shit together.

If you get a chance to meet him, I'd highly recommend it.

Have you tried to not ask the girls on dates in order to reduce the flake?
In Brazil when I was busy I had girls telling me that I was avoiding them and they were pissed, it was easy to meet up after, when I am free and 'trying' to schedule a date they then became flaky as fuck (double standard powa yea!).
The more you try, the more they flake, my new philosophy is fuck the ones who are begging and needy and make the other chase, chasing is an ugly downward spiral, girls can feel that and they play with you.
When I started to get momentum, I met a cool girl and stopped gaming to be 'faithful', she was making me chase hard for nothing in the end, one of the best lessons in my life...

So I never fully recovered from my Colombia trip earlier this year and just couldn’t fully readjust to life back in Canada. I missed the Colombian women, the music, the freedom, rolling with inspirational RVF guys and eventually even the annoying car alarms and taxi drivers. I knew at a core level this would eventually happen but it took some time to fully pull the trigger…



I have sold all my stuff, shut down my business and am permanently making the move to Colombia. I will arrive very soon and already have my bags packed and apartment cleared out.



Ill update from time to time but all the advice anyone needs to travel is within this thread. You don’t have to be some jacked bodybuilder and you won’t get a gun in you face if you stop to tie your shoelaces. Colombia is a place where you get rewarded for being a man so as long as you have a pair of balls and some common sense you will be fine.

I just found this thread and read all 44 pages. I'm going back to Colombia in 2 weeks to stay for 3 months, so I was reading this awesome thread in anticipation of my return. I was sorry to see most of the pics had been deleted, but around page 40 I learned why. Very unfortunate development.

I spent 3 months in Colombia a couple of years ago. I agree with the majority of the info here. I spent a lot of my time in Medellin, and I had a BLAST. However, I find flakiness intolerable, and Medellin is the worst. I've been to 21 countries, and I've never been so aggravated trying to deal with the Paisas in Medellin. I did get laid, but not like I was expecting, and certainly nothing like in this thread. I'm at an in-between age where I'm still good looking and fit that I don't feel like I should have to pay for hookers yet. But I'm not a ripped young guy anymore either. BTW, I was 40 my last trip.

This time I plan to fly into Medellin, hang out with some Gringo expats I really liked, and then I'm gettin the fuck out of that city. I think it's perhaps even detrimental to be a Gringo in that city since so many guys have given travelers a bad rep. I got laid more and got way more attention from the Colombianas in small out-of-the way towns where a guy with blue eyes still gets noticed and fawned over. I would suggest that some of you may try going to a smallish town if you're not having luck in the cities. However, it's a double edged sword. In the tiny towns, everyone knows everyone. And if you sleep with a girl, they're ALL going to know it the next day. I met this one girl my second day in a small town, and she went back to my apartment that I'd rented. The next day, I went into town to see a shop girl that had flirted with me hard the day before to ask her out. She was like, "No way. You slept with Mariluz last night." This was literally three hours after the girl left my house. I couldn't figure out how this other girl would ever know, so I played stupid and said, "I don't even know who you're talking about." The shop girl told me that my across the street neighbor had seen her leaving the new Gringo's apartment that morning and since I was the only Gringo in town, it narrowed it down who I was. So, if you're looking for a permanent nice girl, there's tons in the villages. But make sure it's the girl you really like. They're very conservative and know that the town is eyeing them and you, so they're not going to whore around like the city girls do. I was in that town for a month, and I got laid by one other girl, but only because she was just visiting from Medellin for the weekend and didn't know anyone.

But don't let me turn anyone off Medellin. Even though I spent most nights drinking way too much, partying my ass off, and then not getting laid, I still had a super time. That's why I spent so much time in Medellin. I was having so much fun. But that's what I would also recommend... just have fun. If you're coming down to just get laid, then go to Bangkok. If you're a white guy in Bangkok, they'll treat you like a rockstar just for showing up. But I found Colombia to require some work to get laid like anywhere else in the world. I view my time in Colombia sort of like I treat a visit to the casinos. When I go to a casino, I'm not going with the intention of winning a jackpot and being rich. I go to have fun and if I win some money, it's even better. But if I lose $200 gambling, it was still a fun evening because I was entertained. I treat traveling the same. I go experience the place, the people, the food, go hiking, drink lots of beer, meet shit tons of people, and if I get laid, that's even better. But, I have a different mindset now than when I was in my 20's. Back then, getting laid was everything. Perhaps it's lower testosterone in my middle age, or maybe it's because I've just had enough random girls that it's not as exciting anymore, but now I have a great time just not worrying about it and I let each night take its own course. It's much less stressful and lets you simply enjoy your vacation.

I will heed the advice to dress nicer, though. I wore cargo shorts and tennies most of my time in Colombia last trip, and I had already figured out towards the end that that was a mistake. I had figured, "If a girl is into Gringos, then if I dress like a Gringo, then those girls will notice me." But I think a lot of them like Gringos because the Colombians are so into social status, and not because they're into Gringo backpackers.

I've really enjoyed this thread much. I'll be checking out the other sections soon, too. But this one single thread was enough to compel me to buy a membership.

^ This attitude about Medellin rubs me the wrong way.

You can get laid in Medellin you need game, Spanish, and dancing will put you on another level. I guarantee for a supposedly tough place like Colombia, if you have good game from America and add good Spanish and dancing it will be about 3x easier to get laid with quality girls than in America.

I come from Southern California so I have encountered intolerable bitches since puberty. I will say that Southern California girls, Paisas, and some French girls are the most stuck up girls I have ever encountered though (I haven't dealt with Miami women). The stuck up Paisas aren't as bad as SoCal, with game and again Spanish you can easily screen against the cunty ones.

If guys want to go to Bangkok instead it is smart decision if you don't want to hone the tools to succeed in Medellin.
