I don't mean the "elite" who you see on the billboards or on TV. Merkel is in on it but I think she's owned like almost everyone other politician who has actual influence.
Merkel probably isn't a genius but she understands basic laws of cause and effect. She deals with world-politics on a daily basis and has info that you and me will never know. If you honestly believe she was surprised by this while the AfD and regular folks (who don't have access to intel) have been warning against this for months ahead, then that seems very naive to me.

She earned a Ph.D. in quantum physics and speaks English as well as Russian fluently. And none of her achievements can be attributed to the titty bonus, that's for sure.

Think about it. An ugly woman making it to the top of the political hierarchy in a conservative party of the most powerful country in Europe.

Why is it that through all this bullshit, Germany keeps insisting the migrants will help given the dwindling workforce? If that's truly the case, why not ease visa requirements and attract qualified candidates. I'd gladly move to Germany... well, maybe not anymore.

Germany (as well as Austria) is FUBAR and it will never revert back to the country you grew up in. I feel your pain - I really do - as I spent quite a bit of my youth in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland myself. I hope I don't come across as patronizing as many of you may already be aware: This strategy is referred to as 'change management' and a more recent example of this nefarious technique was employed by the Federal Reserve when gradually introducing increasingly aggressive monetary stimulus in order to bail out primary dealers. The psychology behind change management is the realization that sudden rapid change is rarely tolerated, while slow incremental change usually goes either unnoticed or only receives marginal opposition in the beginning and is eventually accepted as the status quo. It can actually be compared with the physics of inertia in that it takes quite a bit more energy to accelerate a car to 20 mph but requires comparatively little to keep it moving.
Change management is based on human perception of change which is also related to human perception of movement. Human beings are extremely good at recognizing movement even at the very periphery of their visual field - we still retain that ability from our hunter/gatherer days. However as the movement slows down it reaches the point where movement is barely recognized. If you have a snail crawl across your kitchen table you may not be aware of it for quite a while as the little thing moves so slowly. Speaking of which - it is crystal clear to me that they were planning to bring in millions of migrants from the very beginning. But they were smart enough to employ the boiling frog approach - first you tell them it'll be 200,000. A lot of people already balked but it was a number that was 'comparatively small' in the context of a population of 80 Million+. But it was accepted and the migrants started to roll in. The leadership was monitoring the news and apparently the MSM in Germany bought the story hook and sinker and the media was full of shill pieces rooting about all those highly educated scientists, engineers, and doctors coming over the border. So, encouraged by their success the number jumped to 400k, then 500k, then 800k. Some resistance started to rear its head but public opinion apparently still supported Merkel's open border policies. So they went all out and said it would be over a million and that the same number would come next year. Once again the obedient sheep didn't rise up - on the contrary the entire country was struggling to keep up and to accommodate their new cultural enrichment. That is the one scary thing about the Germans - they do not easily rise up to authority and they are very good at obeying orders. Which by the way why Swiss and Germans were very popular as mercenaries in centuries past but that's a different story.
And that is how the game is played. It's a lot easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission - you probably learned that as a teenager. Politicians never tell the truth - they tell the public what it needs to hear right now in order to further the long term agenda of the leadership. Don't think for a second that Merkel and her ilk do not realize what they are doing - they are fully aware and the future of Germany they envision has very little to do with the country of their forefathers. And that is by design, not by chance. Back in the days they used think tanks to dream these things up but these days they even use sophisticated social simulation software to plan their strategy with thousands of branched simulations that address a multitude of scenarios. Trust me - they are WAY WAY ahead of us - do not think for a second that they are bumbling fools who are just winging this. Do you really think that Merkel becoming 'woman of the year' was a coincidence or was not long ago decided? The thought of Germany being unable to save is heart breaking. It's certainly callous that in the beginning some had suggested that some countries need to be sacrificed in some order. In my optimism, I had hoped that no western nation would be lost. It's looking incredibly grim for sweet Germany.
In case we lose Germany, it needs be commemorated with pride. It took nearly the whole world collaborating, almost a century of timing and immense planning using only the most subtle and tasteless tactics before it was destroyed.
Even in the worst scenario, Germany can live again. Each proud German now has the responsibility to organize and safeguard their culture and day-to-day way of life for preservation.
