Dating white women is a sensitive topic, Moma and I do not feel the need to talk about it on our podcast.

Race sadly seems to be a big issue in America, in the UK it is old hat and not a big deal.

Moma poised a great question to me recently, when you marry a white woman and ultimately have a child. What will you tell your children about Race and Racism? How do you explain to them what they are, in terms of being mixed, mulatto, half-caste, black or whatever term you use.

Anybody watch the Black in Latin America series on YouTube? The so called melting pot in Brazil. I follow a few guys online, who bash black american women to high heaven. Yet, they feel moving to Brazil and dating women there is the answer, for them at least.

The show on Mexico/Peru was very interesting. A must watch for alot of you guys.

I kind of feel out of place in this thread sometimes, but fuck it. If one has something to say, it should be said.

I have a baby mother who has a child by a black man(spare me the "don't bang single mums" screed!). The child isn't mixed-race, isn't half-caste(that's an old school term, you're showing your age bro!). The child is just a kid and doesn't need these burdens. The mother is too hung up on bullshit terms like "diversity", whereupon it could become a hindrance to the child.

If you use the term "mixed-race", then you are indirectly(or directly?) assuming that people of different skin colour are different because of "race". That's knee deep in fallacy territory to me.

If the mother and father are of different skin colour, and they're both trying to provide a traditional family unit for their child, the difference in skin colour will have no impact on the child. It becomes difficult when one of the parents is non-resident(a tough cross to bear), because the resident parent is going to have to explain some things, that would have been a whole lot easier within a family unit.

I hope that explains what I see as the potential problems.

TLDR: if you have a kid, make sure it's with a woman you can deal with. That applies to ALL men, regardless of skin colour. Children need 2 active parents.

Apologies Moma and Rudebwoy if my post is not appropriate here. I've been thinking recently that we might need some discussion of fatherhood and being a non-resident parent, this thread might not be the place for it.

^ I welcome your comment.

Oh boy, you have opened up a debate. Yes, I am a older dude who grew up in the UK, when the term half-caste was popular. I agree with your labels, they are bullshit.

However, I have grown up with few of these kids and they always seem to be lost in their identity. My mate was talking about a girl at his work, she is "mixed". To all the white co-workers she is very pleasant, to the few black co-workers she is hostile.

I would love to hear from a "mixed" person to get their thoughts!

Went out this past Saturday night and the reactions were insane! From around 8 pm until 3 in the morning i got somewhere between 20-30 compliments on the jacket.

One nerdy looking dude offered me $200 dollars to buy it from me on the spot. Couple of girls screamed " I looooove your jacket" while we were standing in line in front of them. Ended up making out with one of them. Another girl said the same and approached me at the bar from behind.

Sorry bro, they thought you were RVF member Scorpion.

Yes, "this" as the youts say these days!

The UK isn't great in many ways, but in terms of the "race" shit it's a whole different world to the USA.

I've not spent a great deal of time in the US, but I was able to experience the culture with whites and blacks, and whites and blacks at the same time even!! I'm being sarcastic, as it isn't a big deal to someone form the UK, but it was a real eye opener, seeing black people getting stopped by police because they were walking to the late night petrol station. In the UK all poor people are walking to the late night petrol station, there is much less distinction on the basis of skin colour. Black Londoners might dispute what I'm saying if they were to cite the Met's "stop and search" policy, but I feel that is an anomaly in an otherwise harmonious culture. I have been stopped and searched by those guys, not for skin colour reasons, and it wasn't pleasant.

I'm sure there are men on this forum who could add something useful to your original question, and sorry if I have opened a can of worms!

You need to teach a mixed kid how they are regarded in the Western world! The Kumbaya stuff will not suffice! I've seen mixed guys lash out in anger at society as adults due to lack of preparation from misinformation from their parents!!

Moma, that sounds like so called "red pill" info(harsh truth) as opposed to shite that my baby mother spouts about everyone loving each other being the way forward.
rudebwoy 路 2015-12-05 21:01:00 路 #1158
Lizard King, not sure what you are talking about, when you say people were walking to the petrol station. London is full of CCTV cameras, so police don't need to harrass you because they know everything.

US is a different animal when dealing with race, I guess you are not up to date with the news.
Lizard King 路 2015-12-05 21:09:00 路 #1159
@Rudebwoy, I'm talking about guys walking next to the "freeway" to get to a 7-11 or similar, and getting stopped by police. There was no pedestrian thoroughfare for them, as there would be in most, if not all UK towns and cities. OK so it was only one incident I witnessed, but it seemed harsh to me. It was over 15 years ago and the "race issue" was all too evident even then. My friend's friend(a black guy) explained to me that the pedestrian was getting stopped because he was black, and because he was walking next to the freeway. He shouted support to the unfortunate gentleman as we drove past.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but I was referring to time I spent in the US.

I'm going to humour you. How do you know this? Or is this something that you MUST believe?

The heavy majority of women regardless of race prefer their own preference wise, so with everything equal a guy is going to have more options and better quality with women of his own race relative to other race guys. So a white guy is going to have more options and better quality with white women then other race (asian, middleeast, latino, black) guys.

Not one of them are rich or famous. None of them are sports players or muscians. None have bastard children...I hope.

Isn't the whole "tall dark handsome mysterious" type a white archetype.

What does it matter?

That description describes me, although I am not that tall (5 feet 11) lol

What I mean is that the whole "tall dark handsome mysterious" phrase has no association with black guys. So it sounds weird whenever black guys use it to describe themselves because for some reason they think the phrase is describing them, when in reality the phrase was never used to describe black guys to begin with. When (white) women say they like "tall dark handsome mysterious" guys they're talking about white guys with dark features, they aren't talking about black guys when they use it. You could google it and see that it's about darker white guys since that was what the phrase was historically referencing to. You could just go out and ask white women and they'll say they are referencing to white/italian guys with dark features when they say "tall dark handsome mysterious" guys.
rudebwoy 路 2015-12-05 21:50:00 路 #1162
Orangeknight - it doesn't sound weird to me, when people say tall, dark and handsome to describe a black person.
So are you saying I can't be that? I must be tall, dark and ugly.
How can a white guy be considered dark. If I called my white friends dark, they would think I am weird. The same can be said for an Italian, a guy from Milan would consider that an insult.
But what does it really matter, just because you are a coon who doesn't like your skin colour.
How much longer you going to troll this thread?

I'll chime in on the whole growing up mixed race. I'm one of those 'half-caste' dudes who grew up in London.

Background - parents still happily married for over 30 years, both of them from non-western traditional cultures.

My dad is one of those old school Africans with educational degrees for days. He taught me a few things from an early age that I think helped:

1- I'll have to study and put in more effort than my white peers, but I'll have good results at the end and will be more successful. Now keep in mind in England, a large portion of the white population live on perpetual welfare, babies pushing babies, drug use, the whole shebang! So doing better than them was the minimum baseline expected from my parents.

He always pointed to examples of black or Indian family friends and family who were very well off, all of them educated, all own property in London, all started from humble roots, usually immigrants who came to the UK with nothing but the bags on their backs. This helps because it puts into perspective the fact that with hard work, grit, perseverance and luck, anyone has a shot at a solid life.

2- Don't fall in the wrong crowd. Unfortunately, large portions of the black population is gritty, just as in the US. I was discouraged from befriending hood kids and bad influences, and yes, this includes fucked up white kids.

3- Socialize - my dad used to kick me out the house sometimes when I spent too long playing video games or watching movies, and he forced me to go socialize with my friends, or make friends if necessary. That made a huge difference down the line, and I learned to connect with people and make friends from an early age. Social awkwardness, regardless of skin colour or background is a death knell in modern society. It's the difference between shooting up a school, or being a successful smooth talker.

4 - Literacy - Both my parents used to sit with me when necessary and make sure I did all my homework, and then a little extra preparation in Math. I was forced to read books/novels. This helped give me a leg up going into university and knowing how to properly study.

5 - Constant guidance - When it came to apply to university, I told my dad I was thinking of Economics, Electrical Engineering, or Psychology. "What the hell is psychology good for? What kind of job are you going to get?" When you're a 16-17 year old youth, you're thinking of pussy and video games, so that bit of guidance saved me down the line. Needless to say, Psychology was NOT what I picked up.

All in all you can make your mixed race kids aware of the racial situation around them, but there's a good balance and the advice I got was almost universal.

For every Trayvon Martin, or Stephen Lawrence (the British version of Martin), there's 5 Nigerian doctors, 3 Jamaican engineers, 5 mixed race computer programmers, and so on and so forth.

Positive examples that kids can relate to from an early age makes a massive difference. In America, it may be racist but there's still an incredible amount of successful people who are black, mixed, asian, etc.

If you have a mixed race kid, don't doom and gloom them, tell them what's up, set clear expectations from an early age, follow up (be an active parent), always stay on top of what they're doing, because kids are dumb and easily led astray.

That's my 2c.

Not mixed, but this is how most Caribbean-Americans and Children of African Immigrants are raised. For whatever reason, I hear this from Black Americans, but I don't really see it as evident as I do with "us" foreign blacks.

Lemme put my Social Science hat back on, but I think there are 2 levels ot this mindset.

1) From our perspective - it's outright survival in white dominated societies.
2) From a broader perspective, inclusive of our white brethren who benefit from this "meritocracy" - they're getting played by a white management/ownership class

So the white dude who thinks he got into cal tech or stanford on his merit alone, and then does a few years in the valley before he has his "I'll make the uber of instagram" idea - he then befriends the Angels and VC's to get some funding going, and then does 100 hour weeks, while the other meritorious white guys with a smattering of indians, do 90 hours - only to see his idea take off, and make his backers billions, while he walks way with single digits.

He's richer than 99% of america, but he's stuck having to run his baby.
The system works? Right?

I see this in every industry I've worked in.

I have deliverables. You can put a number on it.
The people that I immediately work for, are also governed by #'s.
The people that they work for.....the numbers start to be more opaque.

Those people are playing a different game by different rules, and it's not something taught in school, or expressly taught by the job itself.

Other people describe this better than me, but for those of us who make stuff, who do stuff - we work for people who don't do any of that.

The sort of thing we need to be teaching young folks is that a lot of this shit we're working for is an illusion.

The rate of return on capital is always higher than aggregate income.

In non economic lingo, real total wages (and wage growth) will never match how much can be made from investments.

Moral of the story, if you can amass enough cash, invest it.

Deep down though, many people who work a job, don't want to deal with the pressures and uncertainty
of owning your own business, or the study and discipline required to invest in financial markets.

It's like Thomas Edision said: "Opportunity Is missed because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work."

The reason many foreigners do well is because they come looking for opportunity and they often have nothing,
so they already know that they will have to work hard to get opportunity.

Can anybody post pics of what they consider 9s and 10s just to put things into perspective.

As for the question, I notice there is a big difference in what is consider a "9/10" between White guys and black guys. I'm talking in general, White guys place more value on a womans facial appearance when factoring into what they consider a 9/10, whereas black guys put more value in a womans body.

9/10's? Let's see great body, great face and .... a "Girl next door" kind of attitude does it for me.

[Image: article-2660062-1ED7929700000578-845_634x422.jpg]

(I don't think she's a 9. Just in reference to the look i'm talking about)

That look of slight innocence and purity coupled with looking modest enough to garner respect yet sexy enough to entice you sends me over the edge.

Every man got a hero complex and would like to have his own little princess he saves from the big bad world and who has eyes for no one but him. These type of girls with that "Girl next door" look play perfectly into that fantasy (But sadly that's all it is).

In contrast, you have the typical urban dime who despite her looks and body dials up that "bad bitch" persona which in my opinion is the number one reason why black women can't get married. Nobody puts a ring on some cantankerous loud mouth.

I blame Beyonce for that but that's a topic for another day.

@Anabasis: Yeah bro you hit it right on the nail. I hate these certified hood dimes, but i'd be lying if I said I don't contemplate approaching them. I went out on a date with one awhile back when I was in the states. From texas and had couple thousand followers on instagram. She was pretty fine, but I could tell she had already been programed by Beyonce/N.Minaj. Was spouting all types of shit about quitting her job because the manager "was trying me" and how "I wanna just be a boss and not work for it, bosses don't work."

@WIA: I think once you cross over the 8 threshold it comes down to personal preference.
Examples

One of my good bros and his friends who never left the "hood" thinks those stripper looking world star vixens are 9's 10's (low key some are)

My indian classmates think Chlo毛 Grace Moretz and similar chicks are 9's, but video vixens are 6s at best. ( I actually showed them pics and asked)

I personally think latin/persian chicks hit the 9 level for me most constantly. We've all had these debates with friends about a chick you swear she is a 9 and your boys swear she's a 7 at most. Every Now and then you can come together as men and agree on a fine ass bitch like zoe saldana.

On the past topic of hairstyles. I'm rocking the medium length dreadlocs out here in europe and the bishes love it. Even when I was in Playa del carmen some french girls came up to me and told me they loved my hair. I get complimented on how nice my hair looks and smells multiple times a week. I don't do shit, but wash it every other day haha. I think it helps that i've updated my wardrobe via that WIA regimen. People always ask me where I got my shoes or pants from. I laugh and say this "small store in the states," but in my mind i'm like yeah nigga the thrift store haha.

Absolutely.

I'd like to add that I've noticed people rating people of other races higher than they would women of their own race. We tend to judge our own more harshly.

You mentioned Zoe Saldana being a 9. Girls that look like her are everywhere in Ethiopia so i wouldn't give her more than a 6. I had a "hot" Japanese girlfriend back in college but my Asian friends were not impressed to say the least.

That's also the reason why i think people tend to overate Persian girls. Yes they're beautiful but don't you think a lot of that beauty could be attributed to them being exotic. Having a look you just don't see everyday?
