That's for sure, I was in Koh Tao and Koh Phangnan this January past and the scene is a lot different now, seems to be a lot of younger uni students in the 18-22 range though. There happened to be two travel groups of Canadians in Railey, about 20 people in each group, I chatted to a few of them and this one guy told me that in his group there were 16 girls and 3 guys, that's a damn good ration if I ever saw one!

Koh Phi Phi: RS Guest House

Patong: White Patong boutique hotel

I didn't bring a girl back in Phi Phi although I can't imagine it would be a problem, both times I stumbled back after partying there didn't seem to be any security and at RS guest house, its kind of like a motel, the rooms are ground level and you just walk up to your door from the beach. At White Patong, your key has an electronic security tag which you swipe to let you in, again, no security, just drag the scallywag upstairs and get your boom boom on, no hassles.

I've probably stayed in about two dozen different hotels in SE Asia, maybe more, and haven't run into any problems taking girls back. There was one place in Cebu, Philippines where I asked if they had vacancy and the front desk informed my straight up that its against policy to bring girls back, so obviously I found a different hotel.

Greetings everyone, i am heading again to thailand soon, i have been 2 patong twice already in peak season and love it. This year i was thinking of throwing in few nights in phi phi, but i am having major concerns, and i hope any guys with some xp over there can help me out.
- Hotels: First of all i can t find any decent hotel close to the nightlife, always you have this terrible review that put you of, my budget up to 300$/ night if the hotel is good and close the nightlife and girl friendly of course, scrolling to the guest friendly hotels either they are very far away or crap, and after some extensive google search i haven t seen a good list of friendly hotels like the one of patong. Anyone have any hotel suggestions that fits those criteria? (equivalent of jet in ibiza)

-Scoring in phi phi: In patong i was solo and scored every night specially with russian girls at seduction had a table there all my stay, met few wingmans after few nights we were having an entire section, couple of nights i didn t score picked a thai girl from hollywood. But in phi phi it seem a different game, backpackers, Scandinavians, not really my field of expertise. Every Thai girl you pick up in Patong is a pro or semi pro. Also you don't need to spend $300 a night on a hotel in Thailand. $100-$150 max will get a very very nice place.

Can't recall hotels in Phi Phi but Agoda.com or Latestays.com are good. Phi Phi will all be backpacker girls and a few vacationing Thais. I would say 98% foreigner chicks though. Scandinavians from my experience are often in a group but I have never witnessed or experienced them cockblocking. I was hitting up with Swedish blonde in Koh Samet, she was with about 3-4 friends. They were all fun and cool and not even the classic fat friend was cockblocking at all.

question for people who visited the Thai Islands...I have very little experience with beach traveling other then actually living there full time...I almost never stay in hostels...usually its just when I go hiking and want to cut costs a bit....Would staying in a hostel Phi Phi or Ko Samui cockblock me?...There's always the beach right?

I think there are many small inexpensive hotels on those islands especially as you walk farther away from the boat dock. Some of them might not be listed online. Unless you are visiting during the busy time when everything is full then I suggest walking to the back of the island as soon as you get off the boat and finding a hotel.

All I have to say is if you visit Phi Phi Don and want to pull, you better be a very good looking guy and have solid game on top of that. I've almost been here a week now and the level of competition is unreal. Yes, there are a lot of stunning girls, probably more than anywhere else in Thailand, but for every girl, there are two aggressive, well built guys going after them. The only time I see average men succeeding here is with girls from the same hostel dorm so that's a possible loophole, but in general it will be an uphill battle. Also, I thought girls would loosen up on holiday in a beach destination like Phi Phi. Bitch shields seem incredibly high and they seem to stick to their social groups, with the obvious exception of English 5s who are just as cock hungry as usual. These party beach destinations are always terrible for high quality girls, even if your a good looking guy. Men always outnumber women and since everyone's on vacation, everyone's trying to get laid and everyone is approaching.

Adrenaline what's the nationality mix like there at the moment? I've found that can make a huge difference on the Thai islands. If its peak Aussie (fat girls, jacked dudes who love to approach) or Israeli (not particularly friendly with anyone whos not also Israeli) season you're gonna have a bad time. If you're lucky and visit during a Scandinavian heavy time of year its a lot better, though. Less intense competition and friendlier girls.

Just trying to help out since I'm a beach guy myself and have visited over 30 Thai islands and even lived in Phuket for 6 months. Having said that there is a reason why I, and a lot of other guys on this forum, live in Bangkok and Chiang Mai now and just visit the islands.

As far as the nationality mix goes, there are LOADS of British people here, closely followed by Americans/Canadians. I met a couple of South Americans last night, Chiliean to be exact and there doesn't seem to be a shortage of those. There are also plenty of Eastern European looking girls but these are the ones who have travelled with boyfriend/friends and seem closed off. Last year when I was here the same time, the place was filled with Russian girls but haven't met, or heard, one so far!

Just wanted to reply here saying that Qwest's datasheet is spot on, and most of the information he posted is still up to date with the current situation.

I came back from a quick holiday in Thailand of two weeks. I've been to BKK (of course), Koh Tao, Koh Phangan, Koh Samui and Koh Phi Phi.
What Qwest wrote on Koh Tao is really spot on and resonates with what I think myself. The island is gorgeous; it is smaller compared to the others, and that's partly what makes it so special: it is a little gem. It is still a bit touristy and nowhere near being "off the beaten path", but it is much less trashy than Phi Phi or Samui.

Here's a quick little breakdown of the islands which hopefully will add to Qwest's original post. Keep in mind I visited in mid August.

Koh Tao

Nothing more to add at this point. The island itself is smaller and quieter compared to its bigger sisters, but it still gets popping at nighttime. The crowd is friendlier and more approachable, as most of them are in Koh Tao to dive and admire its natural beauty.

The main bars are located in the center of "town". One's Choppers, from where a pub crawl starts, and the other (can't remember the name) lies a few meters ahead, and has a nice beer pong table in the center of the room from where you can easily command attention. Said beer pong table helped me pull a 19-y/o British fitness enthusiast, who I caught up with and smashed in Koh Samui. Despite all the praise I'm giving it, this was the only island I did not get laid on. If you like diving and friendly, laid back chicks, you need to check it out. Great male-to-female ratio.

My friends and I got a bungalow right on the beachfront for 300 baht each - I'm talking about Sairee Beach of course, which is the (only) place to be.

Koh Phangan

This is the island where the infamous Full Moon Party takes place. I got there a few weeks later and the place was still great. The island is much bigger than Koh Tao - we stayed at Rin Beach, which is where the party takes place, and just trolled the bars on the beach at night and drove around on our scooters during the day to scope out the amazing beaches around the island.

Once again, it's hard to go wrong to be honest. Get a room/hotel depending on your lifestyle and preferences close to the beach and get ready to have fun. Both main bars on the beach offer games/activities and 300b alcohol buckets, once 11pm comes around - they clear the tables and stuff lying around the beach and people just dance.

I got my Russian flag on this island, she was also a virgin. Incredibly hot Korean/Russian 20-y/o. Spaziba.

Koh Samui

Here's my very own impression on Koh Samui. The island is very big, has an airport and feels just like any big south european beach town: aka it's trash and caters mostly to families and people who don't have the patience/curiosity to visit the smaller, more beautiful islands. Can you get laid on the island, can you have fun, can you chill at the beach and drink etc? Absolutely. But it doesn't even come close to its two smaller sisters.

Please keep in mind I only stayed one day on the island and was still feeling dizzy from all the drinking done the 5-6 days before; like most things in life, it is highly subjective whether you'll like the island or not.

Main party beach is Chaweng, with one area that packs most of the bars/clubs (close to the Ark) and pros.

After hearing stories about the absolute shitshow and pro-fest that is Phuket, my brave friends and I decide we will only visit Phi Phi island on the Indian Ocean side of Thailand and then go back to BKK.

If you are an aggressive player and like blonde, white girls, you're in for a treat on Koh Phi Phi. The island is the end-all be-all for young, party-happy europeans.

The beach where it all goes down is right next to the waterfront and crams music-blaring beach bar after music-blaring beach bar all close to each other on a small stretch of sand. It's like Rin Beach on steroids, with more, younger, drunker people.

The score is more or less the same as the other islands; get a bungalow close to the beach, guzzle a couple buckets of shitty thai rum and you're set. The island is not as big as Koh Samui or as touristy, in my opinion. We found less families there, and most young party goers are all concentrated in one district, which makes things much easier for us.

Yours truly pulled off a hat trick on this island. If you are not - I would advise on skipping the scooter part entirely. There are pick up trucks on every island that can take you (almost) anywhere you would go with a scooter for a small fee. That being said, if you trust in your abilities do get one. The sights that can be seen on all of the islands are simply amazing and they're killer for bringing girls back to your hostel or to some private thai beach to make sweet sweet love to while you listen to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore.

On prices. Yes things are cheap, but they are not dirt cheap, or rather, not anymore. This is the opinion I got from a few different old timers who seemed like they really had their respective places on lockdown. That being said, depending on your wallet and where you come from, things are cheap.

On girls and ratios. The vast majority are British, so you know they're down for pretty much anything. Phi Phi in particular is just overrun with 20-something pasty, tatted up, potty mouthed brit chicks, which of course can be a lot of fun under the right circumstances and under a certain weight threshold. The ratios I found where incredibly favorable almost everywhere with the exception of Koh Samui, and with an only slight prevalence of girls in Phi Phi.

I'm a sucker for natural beauty and sceneries and I have to say, I have rarely seen anything as magnificent and imposing as some of the sights on the islands. Lush, green jungle, white sand and incredible crystal clear water. I would say the best island for this is Koh Phangan.

On girls and ratios. The vast majority are British, so you know they're down for pretty much anything. Phi Phi in particular is just overrun with 20-something pasty, tatted up, potty mouthed brit chicks, which of course can be a lot of fun under the right circumstances and under a certain weight threshold. The ratios I found where incredibly favorable almost everywhere with the exception of Koh Samui, and with an only slight prevalence of girls in Phi Phi.

I'm a sucker for natural beauty and sceneries and I have to say, I have rarely seen anything as magnificent and imposing as some of the sights on the islands. Lush, green jungle, white sand and incredible crystal clear water. I would say the best island for this is Koh Phangan.

^This is I think exactly how datasheets should be written. Not a boring list of bars and addresses, but facts that give you a clear idea of how things are on the ground.

Those "slutty Brit girls", are in Thailand until? end of September? just asking... which months have the most European women tourists?
