In summer of 1996 I got a knock on my door. When I answered it there was this 5'0'' 20 something year Hispanic woman who was going door to door looking for work. She spoke no English, but since I speak fluent Spanish I hired her to clean my house every two weeks. For the next two years she would ride the bus 1.5 hour every other Sat morning, after working a factory job all week. to clean my house, and I would then give her the 20 min car ride back to her house.

I learned that she had come to the US with her husband and four small children but shortly after they got here her husband abandoned her and the kids. So here she was, alone, no car, no money, unable to speak the language...all she had was the will to survive and make a better life for her kids

She took on numerous other housekeeping jobs in my neighborhood, and fast forward ...eventually bought a car, a house, became a US citizen, put two kids through college, has a 3rd one in college now. 19 years later Im now her only housekeeping client but she still works a full time job

The point of this anecdote is that while there undoubtedly bad apples looking to take advantage or abuse the system in the group of "illegal immigrants" as with any group it's my experience is that the vast majority come here highly motivated and with the best intentions.

I for one wish there was some way to "exchange" one hard word working honest illegal alien for one non productive societal leech, here "legally" based on merit. I don't know how it would work... but I wish Trump would come up with that plan rather than keep them all out. I have no housekeeping skills and I personally like paying $1.29 for a head of lettuce

Cool story Papaya,

but what became of her former husband and the inevitable wreckage and leeching on the system he caused/is causing?

Did she pay back taxes and make legal amends for all those years of the records and grid?

If she put three kids in college, I wonder how that affects natives on class enrollment, college choice and price inflation in the larger scale.

See, even if she was an industrious and genuinely noble person, illegally emigrating still hurts the natives of hosts countries no matter how it's drawn up.

Her husband was an awful person who threw his responsibilities on the backs of the taxpayers and the robustness of the economy's opportunities. This act repeated en masse takes much opportunity and wealth from the legal inhabitants.

The husband came back around a few years later trying to worm his way back in and she told him to fuck off. He now has a landscaping business and the one kid that didnt go to college works with / for him.

She like most of the ones I know PAID taxes from day one. I know because her tax guy called me and asked me for a 1099. I remember it like it was yesterday. She was never ever on public assistance. Over the course of 19 years she's borrowed $200 and $600 from me on two separate occasions because of emergencies but promptly paid me back .

Look I'm not saying there aren't problems. It's a very complex issue. All I'm saying is that to paint the issue with ANY broad brush is counter productive and naive.

It's easy to rile emotions and get people fired up with "Stop all illegal immigration, build a wall,...fuck yeah" speeches but the truth is Trump and everyone else with real understanding of the underlying issues know that it's not that simple.

The current wall looks weak. Hopefully they will reinforce or put another wall in the area where the guards stand.

The next 2 weeks are crucial for Hungary and they have to hold ground . Hopefully Merkel does not force Hungary to open the borders again on humanitarian grounds otherwise it is game over for Europe since the whole world will know it's borders are forever open.

It was put up hastily as a stop gap.

It looks like they're constructing additional barriers in the background.

It's strange how all the attention is at the Hungarian border. To get there, the migrants have had to pass through the whole length of Serbia as well as through Macedonia. They seem healthy, often clean-shaven, etc. Who is feeding them? Where are they sleeping? No media organisation seems to have bothered to send someone to Serbia to find out.

Honestly, I don't think it matters much. The word will get out that the Hungary-Serbia border is a no-go and the flow of migrants going that route will dry up. Well done Hungary. Your country is leading the way in Europe right now.

Meanwhile, Germany is disgracing itself. Firstly, de facto closing Schengen unilaterally and now making all kinds of threats against democratically elected governments who won't tow its suicidally pro-migrant line.

How come they aren't using cement for the saudi barriers? Not sure what they will do for the final barrier here.

Judging from the pictures and having had a few years experience building walls, I can tell you how it was built: poorly. A few people with bolt cutters can breach that "wall" in a matter of minutes. They could have that stretch of wall built out of 3500PSI concrete in a few days with modern methods.

Hungary's neighbor Austria is the home of Doka Formwork. Doka has factories in Austria and Hungary. The length of wall shown in that picture is about 300'. With a crew of 100 guys, proper logistical support, solid leadership, Doka Frami Double sided wall system, and a willingness to work 12 hour days, you could probably pour that stretch of wall starting on Monday morning, and finish up Wednesday evening with a wall 12"-14" thick and 18' high. You could have a wood crew follow hot on their heels to build watch towers every hundred yards.

As I recall the fence they built is 175km long and had to be done in weeks.

Three days for 300 feet of wall...

Seriously, other than chuckling at your comparison, I'm finding your numbers rather inaccurate. 100 guys on a three hundred foot wall for three days? They could build that out of hand cut stone...

btw-I run railroad construction projects, including concrete bridges, so I have an idea of manpower needs.
My point is non load bearing concrete wall can be poured a lot faster than most people realize, and that Hungary has a distinct advantage in that the factories that produce one of the most popular wall systems in the world are within easy reach. Yes, the cost is much higher. Yes, they're under a time crunch. My numbers may be off, but if these people in Hungary want a permanent solution to the problem they had better get to work on it, because those chain link fences can be rendered useless with a pair of bolt cutters. The current solution will slow down the invaders, but this problem isn't going away anytime soon.

Not to be a turd grammar nazi, but a lot of people confuse and/or interchange concrete and cement. Cement is the binding agent in concrete, but there's more to concrete than cement. And if you really want some pissing rights, always point out that concrete doesn't dry, it hardens/cures.

But to answer your question about why Saudi doesn't use it. They don't have to. They can afford to spend millions of dollars in fancy radar from Airbus and Raytheon, and have numerous rapid response stations posted along the length of the border. Their wall only needs to serve as means of slowing down the invaders while the early warning system alerts the patrols to the location of the breach.

Turkey has spent over 6 billion dollars on refugee camps.

I'm guessing NGO's are working with Turkey to unleash the beast on Europe.

Why is a period of constant growth necessary? To keep the government as large as possible and endlessly expanding? To feed the shallow consumerist culture?

I actually see a lot of benefit to downscaling things. A smaller government, cheaper housing, and one less fucking 7-11 or McDonald's on every corner would be a godsend. It's also something I think would eventually correct itself because people are social animals who would likely gather together and develop more meaningful relationships. Those inclined to breed more than average would do so and things would get back to the same level in a few generations.

Usury.

The national debt that states are under is growing because of the usurious power of the exponential function that is brought upon tax payers when their governments borrow money that is created from nothing. Populations are the collateral for future borrowing. This means that the productivity of people yet born has been forecasted before new lending is made. The usury means that real wealth is taken out of the economy with each round of interest payment - this installs inflation into the system and the need for new borrowing.

With women at work and not having children and throwing what few children they do have into the abortionist's flame, labour and wombs need to be imported to feed the usurious system by expanding the tax revenue potential.

A few facts about India:

* It is the second most populated country on Earth;
* One-sixth of the world's population lives here;
* Its population surpassed one billion in 1998;
* It is projected to surpass China as the world's most populated country by 2025;
* More than 50% of its population is under 25 (65% below 35)
* Immigration to the UK is mostly from India

What's your point? There is no "Indian problem" in the UK.

Our problems started when the Pakistanis took over the mass immigration game. Many of these people are welfare leeches and cause tons of (highly predictable) problems by aggressively attempting to enforce their religion on everyone.

I'd take the hard-working and often highly educated Indian immigrants over Pakistanis, Somalians and Arabs. Every time.

Historically, Britain has taken the cream of the crop when it comes to Indian immigrants. The vast majority integrate into society, are ambitious, extremely entrepreneurial and so on. Sure, no nationality is perfect, but Indians are mostly model immigrants. And I'm sure they are just as pissed off as we are about what is happening. Not least because they get the blame for what Pakistanis are doing.

Europeans aren't against all immigrants. We are against the creeping islamification of our continent. That is what concerns us.

We need to stop all islamic immigration NOW with very few exceptions.

No one said that there was an "Indian Problem" in the UK. There are clearly quantitative issues if the UK with its minute land-mass keeps importing people from a country that is set to be the most populated on Earth by 2025.

By trying to shame me into a qualitative argument, you contradict yourself by alluding that Pakistanis and Muslims can be judged negatively because the actions of a few. There is clearly no limit on how many people can be legally or illegally be imported from the Indian sub-continent or Africa - yet Farage is more comfortable at pinning the blame on socially conservative Poles which - for good or ill - the UK has reciprocal agreements with.

There had been 2 million Syrian ''refugees'' in Turkey for the last few years up until this summer. They were mostly either in refugee camps or begging in the streets and sleeping under bridges because Turks have enough unemployment themselves and zero welfare whatsoever. Nobody accepted the Syrians, nobody liked them and nobody helped them except some religious people and the government to some degree. Then some of the Syrians attempted to resort to thievery and violence but the Turks retalliated, went from street to street in the city of Gaziantep (close to the border to Syria) and beat up Syrian refugees they encountered. In short we have enough problems of our own so we followed a zero-bullshit policy when it came to refugees.

As I expected, most of those refugees are now pouring into the Welfare Union. I saw an article in Sputniknews but I couldn't find translation so I will do it myself.

The original:http://tr.sputniknews.com/turkiye/20150916/1017760746.html

Quote:The refugees who plan to go to Edirne (border town to Greece) and then pass to Greece are waiting in Istanbul Grand Bus Terminal.
The refugees who have come to the Grand Istanbul Bus Terminal keep waiting, saying that bus firms won’t sell them tickets.

A Syrian refugee named Muhammed Hamid says that he came to Istanbul 3 years ago and it was very difficult financially. He says business life is hard in Istanbul, sometimes he can’t get paid, sometimes he gets paid 50 liras but that’s just enough Money for 2 meals. Not only him but also his whole family needs to work, he says, ‘’In Syria women don’t need to work. Here, everybody works, even children’’.

ALL ARABS ARE HERE
Muhammed says he tried to cross the sea to Europe twice and almost died each time. He then went to Edirne (border town) twice but got turned down.
He says the ‘’refugees’’ are not only Syrian but there are all kinds of Arabs, including Palastinians and Iraqians. ‘’Not everybody can live in Turkey. Most families don’t have enough money for the trip. There are 4 thousand people here today and it will be 10 thousand by tomorrow. We just want to go to Edirne. We are stuck here. We want to get out and go on with our lives. In İstanbul rents are 1000 liras (300 Euros) which is equal to my whole salary.’’

You gotta love the logic in this guy. He is accepted as a refugee, given a job and a salary and he is upset that the rents are too high in a city of 17 million people.

To sum up, the solution is not building up walls or sinking boats in Mediterranean Sea. It's to end this attraction that make millions of men walk barefoot from one contienent to another. It's the social tolerance, the welfare system, asylum policies, open border policies and the immigrant worship that bring those unsatisfied Syrians from Turkey to Europe. Hungary knows what I'm talking about. If only the other nations followed the example of Turkey they wouldn't have been in this mess now. At this rate I predict Turkey will be rid of a million refugees by the end of the year.

Despite the media white-washing this little incident made the Italian press:

Quote:Fiuggi: three illegal ravage and rape reception center in an operator group

http://www.ilprimatonazionale.it/cronaca...ice-28392/

https://translate.google.com/translate?d...3986.shtml

It turns out a group of "youthfully exuberant" migrant teenagers pillaged an immigration center. They raped the 48 year old chief of the center and one was only interrupted while he tried to strangle her as they were leaving. Those were SJW kind of people who helped those guys for months, but we all know that most of those buggers are not poor destitute refugees who are grateful for anything.

They could not even find women and children in their group - just like the TV crews who ignore them usually and film only women and children.

All European countries should send their navy to the Mediterranean Sea to defend the EU borders.

I think that the elite has slightly underestimated the resistance of the people. All the coordinated refugees welcome parades, all the media which lied in unison - all of this did not prevent the European people from seeing truth. How long before the local people will create armed civil guards and take matters into their own hands? Also of course all parties which facilitate this will be ousted from power.
Suave · 2015-09-16 03:11:00 · #1421
Let's speculate: if walls are formed and the migrants are kept away from most if not all European nations, what'll happen to the ones that managed to get in? Sure different countries will take different actions, but is there a possibility that some countries might force the majority that made it to leave?

Not sure if this is enforceable, but on the surface I would support such a proposition. Even a year would make a big difference.

After the market crash of 09 I worked in a restaurant - cleaning dishes, waiting, bartending, etc. Worked from 5am to 8pm, sometimes 7 days a week. The job was horrible, and I certainly learned I would never do it again if I had the choice. But it gave me a big appreciation for work ethic, that I took with me to the white-collar job I have today.

I know a number of people who have masters, or even TWO masters degrees, and haven't work a day in their lives. One of them told me they went to university because their big ambition in life was never to do any hard work - this includes cleaning after yourself or doing the laundry. They imagined their super special snowflake status would ensure they wouldn't have to tard

Of course, then they learn people who have never worked and have multiple degrees are literally unemployable. Employers look at perpetual students as jokes, because they never had any real responsibilities yet in life.

These are the same people who now want to welcome migrants into their homes. They have no idea what real life is like, especially compared to what their ancestors had to go through. I guess they imagine the nice refugees will clean their toilets for them, so they can go back to fashion blogging or ecological preservation or whatever.

Agreed. Americans as a whole do not understand the magnitude of this. Kind of reminds me a little bit at the cluelessness by the threat of Nazi Germany during WWII from America's perspective. But don't worry, this American gets it.

It will be the equivalent if say we switched sides. Instead of Mexico being our southern neighbor, we plug in Syria. Instead of El Salvador and Guatemala, we plug in Somalia and Afghanistan. Instead of Honduras we plug in Pakistan and Nigeria.

The American Southwest would be majority Muslim, and instead of the Catholic churches we would have Muslim mosques all over Texas, California, Arizona, and New Mexico. California would be majorly Muslim.

Instead of having 60 million Hispanic Americans of Mexican, Cuban, and Puerto Rican descent, we would have 60 million Muslims of Syrian, Somalian, and Pakistani descent. With around 20 million illegal Syrians in the country.

Instead of Mexican parades, cinco de mayo, burritos, and tacobell, and Hispanic Heritage month, we would have Muslim parades, Ramadan at a larger scale, Islam month or something of that nature.

Instead of Mexican women, we would have Muslim women covered in hijabs.

Instead of the Latino vote being a powerful chunk of the American electorate, we would have the Muslim vote and their agenda? Shariah Law.

Instead of Jeb Bush pandering to Mexican Americans in Spanish, you would have Jeb Bush pandering to Muslims in Arabic.

Instead of Jorge Ramos, you would have Anjem Choudary

Pretty frightening if you think about it.
