I haven't seen a date lab report in a while, but I like to read through the old ones every few months. Lately it's been all lesbians and gay guys, but this one from early August is kinda funny.

Apparently he's pretty into fitness, and realized a fattie would be bad match. Of course a fattie wouldn't really be a good match for anyone. Here's a pic, she's not obese yet, but I'd be pissed if I ended up on a blind date with her.




He breaks it down pretty easily, letting her know that "I’ll just be brutally honest here. ... She is just not the body type that I would ever ask out. I mean, if I’m dating someone, I like to be able to go on a jog with them or stay physically active... There was no wow factor."

Comments try to shit one him, but she is fat, and at 28 she's only going to blown up more. Luckily she lives in DC though, so I'm sure she'll lock-down some chode in five years.

Assuming that everything written in the article is true, he is trying too hard and she didnt seem like a bitch.

So...she can approve of his height and that's fine, no complaining. But him disapproving her body type draws nothing but ire from commentators. And very conspicuously there is no full body shot presented in the article. Hmmm.

He's obviously a runner, which may explain why he looks a hell of a lot older than 32.

I think she puts him in the 'friend zone' because she knows he's not into her.

By giving the date a '4-plus' she's saying that she's interested, but by saying they should be friends is an indication she knows it ain't happening. If she really wasn't interested, she'd give it a lower rating.

Either way, of course all the comments are about his supposed 'body shaming'. Not being attracted to a fat woman, and even stating so in a benign manner as this guy did, is now considered heresy.

I think the whole premise of DateLab acts as a soft cockblock because all girls need plausible deniability to engage in slutty behavior. Some girls from conservative cultures don't even want to kiss in public because it would be shameful, yet are perfectly ready to engage in hanky panky behind closed doors. So I would take all these DL "failures" with a grain of salt: unless the two people are highly into each other, odds are, nothing is going to happen. If you can't really put moves on a girl without it being known to the general public, of course it's going to end up friend shit.

That being said, she has the typical DC white girl look. Uninspiring for sure. Neither of them have any fashion sense whatsoever. Dude seems lame however. Anyone who says "I'm an alpha" is someone I would never want to hang out with. He's full of conventional thinking and beliefs. She seemed sweet (but chunky), and he seemed like an idiot, frankly, two degrees (yawn) notwithstanding. WNITRVFM (would not invite to RVF meetup).

This is a blind date not a tinder date where he got catfished, why did he feel the need to say she's not the type of girl i would approach on the street?
Like i said he was trying too hard, the fact that the first thing he does is call himself an alpha male should give you an idea of the attitude on this guy.
I didnt see the girl doing anything wrong other than being fat, and since we are all about self improvement in here and not just hating women for no reason why dont we call it like it is. Dude doesn't have the looks to pull a hot girl neither the game needed, but he sure showed everyone how mature he is.

Reading the transcript, all I get is that the guy is trying WAY too hard to sound cool ("I love PA sports, brahhhhhh!") and the woman is just pretty...humble. Nothing special, but very down-to-earth, ESPECIALLY for DC. I don't like either of them, but she sounds much more tolerable than he does. Plus, he looks like a cartoon character.

- Four years apart: At least they didn't do the asinine thing they always do and get two people of the same age, or even the girl being a year or two older.

- Being 'Alpha' is like being 'Cool' - It should be self evident therefore you shouldn't have to say it. Alpha Cred - 1500.

- Also, an 'Alpha' wouldn't arrive early; he'd get there ten minutes late. This is game 101 here, 'Alpha'...

Yeah, sure, it's easy to pick on her for being a fatty and talking like an idiot (read: the average American female)...but at least she seemed down-to-earth and open. I can't really find any egregious personality violations with her (though contrary to what the commenters attest - she is certainly not 'beautiful' or 'a catch').

He reads like the type of guy who 'scored mad chicks in college' and afterwards struggled...but then he read The Game and negged and peacocked his way into a few bangs with drunk chicks at bars. A total chode who sounds like a 20-year-old dickweed but he's older than I am. I sometimes feel that we're too quick here to say 'Oh, but she's fat so herp derp!' and not go after guys for their weak and suspect game.

As others have already mentioned, any guy who claims to be alpha is anything but alpha. He sounds like a guy that just discovered game, realized he's slightly above the average guy, so he declares himself king of the hill. Because he's just come to this revelation, he feels the need to share it with everyone. Lots of hamster with this one. From the way he talks about his attire of the evening to his confusion at her passing the boner test.

I won't say anything about the girl. She seems alright. If she's reading this she should contact me. I'd give her the D if I'm passing through. I won't even make her run. It will make it that much harder for her to catch me when I take off.

I always find myself checking these datelab threads to see if I've banged the girl since the last one...

Guess lightning doesn't strike twice.

Guy needs to get over himself and seems the opposite of "alpha" here. Girl does seem a bit thick (even upon review of FB) but could improve to a DC 6 if she lost some weight.

My best guess is he didn't build any attraction (hence the friendzone) and he tried to save face by claiming he wouldn't date a girl like her. But you can't do that once you've already called her attractive and beautiful.

Yeah, I only included the "alpha" because he said it. I'm not a big fan of the whole "alpha" vs "beta" thing, but I would consider proclaiming yourself to be "alpha" to be pretty much the opposite of what I consider it to be.

I'm not sure if he could've banged her, but I didn't take the "beautiful" and "attractive" comments to be serious. It seemed like he knew the commenters would tear him apart, and was trying to placate them.

Which again is kinda far from what I would consider to be "alpha", either say what you mean or don't, but don't be a bitch about it.

Notice, she's setting up an actual friendzone situation - one where she's dangling the pussy to keep the guy interested. By saying, "but you just never know," she's actively teasing the idea of sex to keep him in her orbit.

The friendzone isn't just a girl who wants to be friends - guys would quickly lose interest and move on...or the girl would have to bring some serious value to the friendship (which is usually too much work for them). The friendzone requires the girl to drop hints of "something more" every time she senses he's about to leave.

Thanks, jariel, I'd never heard of "runner's face." Most of the results in google are about denying it. RVF doesn't seem to have discussed it.
