^ That shit is hilarious.

"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. To be your own man is a hard business. If you try it, you'll be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself." - Rudyard Kipling

OK. I'm sold.

I will add "Aussie surfer dude who punched a shark to survive the shark attack" to the list of people who are still more heroic than Bruce Jenner.

Just a human enjoying his "Apex-Predator Privilege" atop the food chain.

You don't want to grapple with it, since you concede a weight advantage and his shark friends can take bites at your face while you're tangled up.

Also it's ridiculously difficult to pull off a finbar in the ocean. The water makes everything slippery and without a gi it's tough to take a good grip.

Fox and Friends has a helpful suggestion on what should be done about these sharks.

"I can count on one hand, literally, the number of women I have ever met that can take that kind of advice, accept it and make use of it without their epic egos setting metaphorical fire to the conversation.

Most women "looking for advice" are in reality looking for someone to validate their cosmic victimhood, because it's not really their fault, because it's never their fault. This behavioural trait isn't absent among men, but when we fail society cares not, while when women fail there is no shortage of comforting platitudes on offer from every vector.

Question, do sharks have emotions? Like if you punch them, will they ever get angry and aggressive in return? On one hand, they are just fish and fish are all pretty stupid as far as self-awareness goes. The shark may not even be intelligent enough to be capable of retribution. With higher mammals, if you were to say punch a dog, you'd piss it off and it might in return bite you out of anger. Elephants are known for taking revenge on those that angered them sometimes days later. But I don't know if a shark is capable of getting pissed off in the way a mammal can.

Im no expert by any means but intuitively Id say no they likely aren't capable of anger. Anger is probably on a higher level of cognitive development.

The punching works because they have a real evolutionary mechanism to avoid injury. If they get injured in any meaniful way it's essentially a death sentence for them. If they're bleeding enough their own kind will turn on them and frenzy feed. That's why their preferred method of hunting is a surprise attack with a single bite, then pull back and wait for the prey to bleed out and /or weaken to the point they cant fight back. That's the reason the majority of people who are attacked by sharks survive.
