Which wouldn't mean much anyway with so many American women being "foodies" who can't put down the fork. That's one of the most eye opening things about learning about how the human body works--a good half hour in the gym can be destroyed in a few minutes with the wrong meal.

The Toronto Slutwalkers announced the signing of star goalkeeper Hope Solo this afternoon. The US national team player was a free agent after being unable to come to terms with her previous team, the Seattle Fupas. The marquee signing bodes well for the expansion Slutwalkers, who now have a superstar to be the face of their new franchise.

"We are thrilled to announce the signing of Hope Solo today" said Slutwalkers GM Kathleen Wynne at a press conference in front of several bloggers at Tampax Field, "Hope is a strong, empowered womyn that embodies all of the ideals and traditions of the Slutwalker uniform, she is an inspiration to the girls of Toronto".

In other news, Doc Martens has been named the official supplier of boots for the Slutwalkers upcoming season.

Doesn't need to be a tough guy with intent to tackle them.

I used to play mixed soccer at one point, and accidentally knocked a girl out cold because she ran into my back while I was getting up. I'm only a 5'7" guy.

A big guy running straight through a group of female soccer players would knock all of them out. A standard shoulder to shoulder would send them flying. They'd be seriously injured or even dead if he were to tackle them for real.

And the title 9ers want to be on the mens college wrestling teams and the mens US college Football teams - the worst times I got my bell rung - seeing stars and little birdies flying around my dazed and confused concussed brain... was when it was half speed scrimmages to practice various routes and the play book... let my guard down a couple times and paid dearly - a women being full on tackled or even blocked by your average in shape college men's team players would be physically debilitating if not life threatening to the macho kick boxing snowflakes - same reason they are a liability in military combat roles.

Yes, darling, but male soccer players confine overblown crying and writhing around to a few moments out of 90 minutes on the soccer field, if it potentially pays off in a free kick. They don't rely on it to get them free kicks in the game called life.

It might seem like an odd name combination, but I heard Wrigley Company is looking to do more sponsorships, and we could always use more money into women's sports; rhinos are reputed for their aggressiveness and power, a perfect mascot for representing strong and independent women on the pitch

The reason diving (lamentably) works in men's soccer is that the pace of the game makes it difficult for refs to see what's a dive and what's a legitimate foul...the women's game is far too slow for diving to be realistically effective. It isn't as common in women's soccer because the game isn't dynamic enough for it to be convincing.

Of course, youth soccer also sees far less flopping than professional men's competition...I guess by her standard we'll soon see 10-year old kids bragging about how they're 'better' and 'tougher' than Barca, Real, Bayern and Juve because they didn't dive during recess. What a joke.
