There are several ways to take T if you decide to. Intra Muscular Injection is by far the most cost effective, time effective, and stable way to do it. It’s only odd the first two times you do it because you think it is.

Your Dr. or nurse will probably offer to do your bi-weekly injections for you, for a price. Don’t do it. You are capable of doing it by yourself. Just remember, they will probably give you your first shot, in the butt, with a big needle, it will hurt. DON’T BELIEVE THAT IS HOW YOU HAVE TO DO IT! Just tell them to give you 1.25-1.5 inch, #23 gauge needles for you do it at home. You will give it to yourself in the thigh. No, it wont hurt. Finally.

I am open about the TRT with my friends and some have been upset that I would rather be proactive about my health than reactive if I had diabetes, high cholesterol, or obesity! I'm on gel (2% Tostran). Anyone have any luck with this? Did you find it increase T? I hear there can be issues with absorption. Anyway, I use 6 pumps which is supposed to deliver 60mg of T.

Also taking Danazol for elevated SHBG (also estradiol is within range, but on the high side).

Solid post. Some quick advice about needle gauge size and length. You would be better off going shorter and smaller.

Unless you are obese, one inch is plenty long for any injection site except for glutes.

I use 23 gauge 1.5" for drawing the oil into the syringe, then I switch to a fresh needle 25 gauge 1" for injecting. I rotate injection sites between my quads, delts, and pecs. Unless you are pinning everyday as part of a short ester steroid cycle this isn't really necessary, but the basic idea is you don't pin the same site more than once in a week.

It's good to switch the needle after drawing because that way it is perfectly sharp when you inject.

Also, the higher the gauge for injecting, the smaller the needle, and the less issues you will have with potential scar tissue.

I was one year on 5% then switched to 10%.

Test went up from 400 to 700 on 5%. Doc wasn't impressed and ramped it up to 10%. Not some some insane numbers but at least it's in the good range, not like average test level of 75 year old.

All the positives mentioned above are present.

One negative, it's harder for me to cum now. I mean, I really need to focus to finish or I can go on forever. And, yes, it's a negative.

I read that a solid testosterone to estrogen ratio is 30-40. Mine is at about 13.5

I do as much as reasonably possible to keep my natural estrogen levels low: no soy, tons of broccoli, exercise plenty...I feel like this has always been an issue for me.

Since my testosterone production in general seems to be OK, I'm going to ask my doctor today about generic Aremidex. It inhibits the enzyme that converts testosterone to estrogen (aromatase). Anyone have any information on this?

I wanted to conduct some research on anastrozole (Aremidex) so I made the purchase. My order was very reasonably priced and arrived in about a week. The packaging and the website look very shady, but it is a US-based company and as far as I can tell everything seems legitimate.

My research hypothesis: A 1/4 mg dose of anastrozole administered every 3rd day for 4 weeks will correct high estrodial levels in an otherwise healthy male specimen.

I am NOT vouching for anything yet. I will conduct my research and make a recommendation based on the outcome.

I figured I would give an update to anyone who was interested.

I have been taking a 1/4 mg dose of anastrozole every 4th day (I decided to spread out doses even more as I am very concerned about negative side effects, especially with my joints). I've been taking it for about one month now.

A few hours after ingesting the liquid, I feel pretty crazy. Whatever mood I am in is amplified - a couple times I was feeling a little down and my thoughts went pretty dark, but everything was fine in about 6 or so hours.

For about 48 hours after a take it, I am horny as fuck. I notice every rack and ass that I cross paths with - I also seem to catch girls eyeing me up more than usual. Usually, having two orgasms in a day is a small accomplishment for me. Yesterday, I came four times no problem and was still fiending for more. Boners are ROCK solid. This makes me think I am right on point with my dose size and frequency.

Friends and family have commented that I look more muscular than ever - my strength gains are definitely improving in the gym and I can see the results in the mirror as well.

All in all my joints feel the same. My knees can get a little sore after tons of walking/standing/lifting/basketball, but that's nothing new. Just in case, I've incorporated knee wraps into my heavy lifts for extra support. No complaints. I don't want to get greedy - I plan on keeping my dosing exactly as it is.

How often do you inject and when in relation to that do you dose that anastrozole?

With anastrozole it starts bringing the estradiol down within about two hours of consumption and has a half life of about 50 hours.

It is generally accepted that it takes 3-5 half lives of med to reach steady state.
Having said that wait until you've had at least 5 doses to give you a better picture what that dose will leave you at.

While both high and low e2 can give you problems, yours wasn't high enough to be a big concern, I would be more concerned with driving it too low. In your case I would want to know how low my e2 goes when the anastrozole is at the lowest. (I would also want a random and nadir, but not as important). So based on absorption and peak effect, get your labs drawn somewhere in the 20-30 hour window after you take it.

Isn't this an awesome feeling! Based on this alone you are on the right dose. As it brings your e2 down you feel this way and after the anastrozole is elimated e2 start slightly climbing with probably noticeable decrease in horniness although probably not too much.

So here's an update on my coming off of TRT;

I initially decided that my injection on 6/1 would be my last-ever dose. I was ready to ride the wave of hormonal imbalances and deal with the fallout.

Week of 6/1 and all of the week of 6/8 I used HCG M-W-F, 300-500iu.

Noticed: some water weight loss; increased vascularity in the abs and forearms. Huge dropoff in libido, slight--SLIGHT-- nipple puffiness.

Got thrown a curve ball, though. I started hooking up with this chick and my dick was barely working. I could get an erection but not nearly as hard as usual. It was like 60% erect. I fucked her twice but it was a huge challenge to get hard and even then, it was pretty weak.

So, I did another dose of T although reduced. Just 70mg Test cyp on 6/10. Libido came back strong within 24 hours and I fucked with a rock-hard dick last night and this morning four times. So that was taken care of.

I think I'm going to stay on a low dose of T for a while. 180mg/wk was a lot. Going to see if 140mg will do it with less side effects. Continue HCG M-W-F for testicular health/overall improves libido and motivation for me, personally.

If things go south and I end up plateless then I'll experiment with coming off test again. Right now though I'd rather sling some dick and deal with acne and water weight.

My knowledge is theoretical because I've never fucked with it, but I read in "Anabolics" that HCG basically mimics FSH (or is it LH) in the testes, and can desensitize your balls to the real thing?

Only if you take too much HCG. Low dose bears little or no risk, it's pretty safe.

No more than 1000 IU a week, in divided doses. 500 IU per shot max. More than that, you can desensitize your balls to LH (not FSH)

Personally I do 250 IU EOD.

At 40 I am now thinking I am low T. Over the last year I have worked 60-70 hours a week, and had a big year. This has lead to a lazier lifestyle; I go out a lot and eat and drink heavily, I am traveling almost weekly, I quit working out, and I am under a lot of stress.

I have taken steps to raise it naturally through more sleep, working out regularly, fapping less, going out less, and meditation. I typically go out 3-5 nights a week, booze it up, eat lots of good food, and fap every day. I am going to get tested this morning. Given the charts I should be around 600 for my age.

After I get tested, see the results, and keep this improved lifestyle change going, I may get on TRT.

I found a clinic here that will test for $100, and do weekly injections. Its $200/month. Its a popular mens clinic here. Given all that I have going on, I could just pay for it, and not worry whether I am doing it right. I dont want to mess up my health and I would rather pay someone who does it right, than have to spend lots of time reading about it.

Ironically, your lack of will to research/read about it suggests even further that you may currently have low t (low drive/motivation is one strong indicator). I highly encourage you to read up yourself, plenty of TRT clinics have their standard blanket procedure that they give to all men starting TRT, which may not be optimal for you individually.

I had an e-mail correspondence with the head of a TRT clinic in Atlanta, I was told the standard beginning protocol for everyone is:

1. 100 mg Testosterone Cypionate injected weekly
2. Anastrazole .5mg 2x per week
3. HCG

Nevermind that you may not need the last two, or that 100mg may not be enough for you. They start ALL men on this. Definitely do your homework, and at least come up with a starting regiment to propose to them.

I've also written a book on TRT explaining all the how's of low testosterone and the why's behind TRT, how to find a good doctor who knows what he's doing, and how to manage your TRT with a doctor. I know a ton about this stuff because I've been on the ground for almost 5 years, following all the research and medical studies, TRT effects on bone and heart health in the long term, talked to almost 20 doctors about this, and I've personally tried it all myself (except pellets).

I'm putting finishing touches on the book... it will be out soon.

@Vaun; I know you don't have the strength to read (I've been there), but one book that helped me was: The Testosterone Syndrome, by Shippen & Fryer. He mentions the tests needed to get a clearer picture, treatment, etc.

Thanks guys for your interest in my book.

But when I checked the US copyright office, I saw that it takes 8 months for them to process an e-filed application. Might take a while unless I figure out a way to speed that up.

I have read plenty, and now reading all of these threads and links everyone here is kind enough to post. I am learning about this everyday and held off on the clinic before I talk to my GP after a test I had today. Let me put it to you this way, I work 12-15+ hours a day, and usually Saturdays, at 40 yrs old. I am pressed for time, and pretty exhausted when I finally roll in, and thats if I dont go out for drinks or dinner. Who has time to read books?? I literally dont. Call me a pussy or lazy or low T, I could care less what you think. I would love to lay around all day, sleep 10+ hours a night, work a peaceful non-stressful 9-5 job, not drink, not have stress or confrontations whatsoever. OK Tim Ferriss, that all sounds delightful.

Man I went to inject today like I have a 100 times before and it hurt like shit to break the skin on my glute, I ended up trying twice on one cheek, switched needles and cheeks and it still hurt so finally on the 5th tr I just suffered through and injected. I have no idea whats up with that... never happened before.
