Alot of people seem to forget that nature always wins.
Three cheers for building the tallest buildings or longest bridges, but an earthquake or a hurricane will check you right quick.
This woman serves as a reminder to others that think they are some how above biology and nature.
It's a good bet that American's are probably the only nationality to question the policy of keeping windows and doors closed when visiting a wild animal reserve.

Scott Simpson,the operations manager at the lion park, added "This is not a common occurrence. We have plenty of signage at the park indicating that windows should always be closed while driving in the lion park. Brochures are handed out to all of the tourists who visit the park."

Modern society is full of these idiots. Nobody who has real experience with wild animals does this stuff.

Just for reference, a 90-pound chimpanzee has 2X the strength of a grown man. They are fucking dangerous. A grizzly bear can basically pick you up in it's mouth and run away with you as if you were a snack-size pizza. You can hit it in the nose all you want, you are not getting away.

In a safari park in Japan a few years ago, a family was cruising through and the baby started crying while in the lion enclosure. So, the grandmother picked-up the baby and got out of the car so she could stand while holding since that often calms babies down. The lion was on her in seconds and bit out her neck. The park employee nearby got there fast enough to prevent harm to the baby. I think it is a woman thing that they aren't as cognizant of danger as men are.

I went to Yellowstone many times as a kid. There was always always always someone to stupid to pay attention to the numerous warnings not to approach the bison. Men, women, young, and old. Bison can run, and they are faster than you.

Agreed that random dumb things done by women have very little purpose here and could make this place feel like a woman hating circle jerk.

There are lessons to be learned from this story.

The idea that you should give freedom to women is highly questionable. For most of human evolution and recorded history, women were kept on a short leash by their family in order to ensure survival and chances at procreation.

That we've moved away from this, and are experiencing plummeting birthrates and tons of other social dysfunctions is not a coincidence. Women were never meant to be in full control of their lives.

This story is but a microcosm of Western Civ in general. Nature always wins.

Are you suggesting we should take time away from game and self improvement to try to lobby for a repeal of women's suffrage or try to bring Saudi Arabian gender roles to north America? No, of course not. So what course of action would someone on this forum take?

My take is that we just need to adapt to the world we live in and make the best of it rather than sitting around on the internet imagining what life would be like if women had their freedom taken away.

Finally, I don't even accept your extreme premise in the first place. Of course women are entitled to freedom. You would be more persuasive if you mentioned specific things rather than such broad sweeping statements.

Freedom is not the problem, its freedom without consequence, that's a problem. Women has a kid 100 years ago, no welfare state, she either marries the man, aborts or her family disown her for being a slut and she's screwed either way. Today the welfare state will come in and give her all the resources so she can get by. Housing, healthcare, food, etc. It's amazing how logical and pragmatic women become when they don't have government hand outs, in all its forms.

Bringing up Saudi Arabia is a strawman.

The Greeks, Romans, First 1000 years of Christianity, nearly 3000 years of Chinese history, none of these people gave much freedom to women. When women did get freedom, usually it was in times of civilizational free fall and decline, such as in 200 AD Rome when women actually managed to bully the senate into passing laws in their favor while the huge swaths of the empire fell into barbarian rule. Likewise when women were managed carefully like any property, pet, or livestock, the culture flourished.

You won't be able to adapt to a world that's collapsing. Trying to ignore the political is like trying to ignore needing food to survive. The political will always have primacy in this world.

No one is entitled to freedom, and certainly not the whimsical creatures known as women. Freedom is a privilege, not a right.

I'm not in total disagreement with what you're saying or else I wouldn't be on this forum. I just think we risk spending too much time worrying about the collapse of western society when we could be improving our individual lives.

What course of action would you suggest the men of this forum take based on your political analysis?

I can understand why you say this, but can virtually guarantee you that this won't happen. People have a kind of TIA (This Is Africa) mentality here. Even people driving their daughters to ballet practice in their Porsche Cayenne's. If people come unstuck because of doing something stupid "the people" judge the stupid person to be at fault. Not the institution for not physically restraining it's customers.

Perhaps if the woman had been someone famous, say Chelsea Clinton, the authorities may feel they need to "do something", but even this would be forgotten in 6 months and things would return to the base point.

The park did everything it could, and anyone silly enough to bring a lawsuit would be laughed out of court. Maybe some sort of responsibility could be attached to the tour company she was with (Not connected to the Lion Park itself). The driver should have ordered her to close her window and just driven out of the enclosure if she didn't comply. But tour companies don't want to upset their clients...

Womens rights has everything to do with a stupid mistake one person made?

That is just really out there and making an argument because it was a woman who did this, an American woman too. I could dig up plenty of things people have done including myself which could have led to serious injury or death.

Yes she was an idiot for not listening to warnings and filming a wild animal up-close but it is no cause for celebration. She was actually a good person if you read up on her.

People make mistakes, it is 50/50 on life or death and for her it was death.

I was standing on a dirt road in the African bush (we had to change vehicles because one was broken). At two meters distance a male lion appeared out of the bushes next to me. Luckily, it was no lioness and just walked onwards ignoring my presence.
