For the average individual, it's even worse. Trying to change the direction of society/culture is roughly equivalent to standing in front of a hurricane and attempting to change its direction by huffing and puffing.

On the other hand, if you are a truly dedicated father, and do your very best to create a stable home environment for your child, educate them, play with them, etc etc, then you can have a very large impact on the life of your child and how your child will interact with the world 40 years from now. That's where you are best off focusing your efforts.

As far as what the meaning of life is - well that is a philosophical question since even grand civilizations are dust sooner or later. Ultimately you have to find the answer to that question yourself. Personally I think it's better to live your life to the max regardless of the choices you make. To me life is a school for Soul anyway, so we learn from the good and the bad decisions we make, so long as we make some.

And nuclear family is better than gay marriage and pushing of gay agenda.

Perhaps I didn't explain myself clearly, but you seem to have completely mischaracterized my words and misunderstood my point.

I never said the human race sucks, I never said it didn't.

Whether or not the human race sucks or is magnificent is completely besides my point.

My point is that from the point of view of an individual who cares about the sake of his children, you are extremely unlikely to positively effect the personal future of your individual children by focusing on what is wrong/right with any larger macro element of society/culture. However, by focusing on your individual child, reading to them, taking them to the museum, enriching their lives with love and languages, you are overwhelming likely to make a large positive impact on that child's life.

Someone in my extended family (who is not in the Catholic Church) has a marriage license. They are also against gay marriage as per bible teachings. Although they said they won't it will be interesting how long it will take till they try force such people to marry gay people. At a guess Id say 1 - 2 years.

It's a surprising and shitty result, especially for a country as conservative as Ireland, but remember, gays are like Shakers; no reproduction from within. This enthusiasm will dwindle once the non-gay 99% get pissed off at having to subsidize surrogacy or adoption-that will be the next step, money on it.
Gay marriage can't be opposed on 'moral' grounds since nobody really accepts them anymore-the paedophile priest scandals have really undermined the church, especially in Ireland.
So, someone with a platform could oppose it with a greater success rate by talking about issues like:

-the added costs. If gays can marry, children will be their next ideal. Leaving aside whether or not they should parent, you can make a more compelling case against it by pointing out tax hikes to support fertility research-let the same-sex lobbby bear the financial weight of this-or try to agitate for tax support- and it'll become swiftly obvious that these marriages are not a sustainable.

-the legal issues. By letting a government decide what is and isn't 'marriage', everyone who wants to marry will get bitten in the arse down the line. The definition will be shifted, either to allow less savoury unions or to create new sources of tax revenue, divorce opportunities, etc. Even gays would oppose that if pitched to them right.

-pointing out that marriage is a civil right, but gay marriage is a civil liberty-opposing it isn't a bad thing; it's on a par with opposing polygamy.

- the benefits of straight, two-parent families. Don't attack gay couples for being worse, promote straight couples as better. Do it right and the message doesn't have to be articulated.

-encouraging and promoting the idea of married clergy. A guy who never holds a job can't advise anyone on family life. The current church is like a doctor who makes a diagnosis by looking at the textbook and not the patient. Let priests teach or do social work, since those fields are bottoming out and attracting the incompetent and the downright sociopathic, and they'll do good in their community as well as gaining the AUTHORITY to tell others what marriage should and shouldn't consist of

As unpleasant as it might be, this is only a stepping stone for those interest groups who funded the 'yes' campaign. Attack them too wherever possible.

I think there should be a clear difference between the duties of civil and religious authorities. Civil authorities should be required to serve all citizens equally. Religious authorities, unless they are acting in a civil capacity or being funded by the state, should be free to discriminate as they see fit.

So yes, Leviticus 20:13, does indeed say "If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

But, Exodus 21:7 says that selling your daughter into slavery is permitted: "When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she shall not go free as male slaves do."

And, according to Exodus 35:2, if you work on Sunday, you deserve the death penalty: "On six days work may be done, but the seventh day shall be sacred to you as the sabbath of complete rest to the LORD. Anyone who does work on that day shall be put to death."

And according to Leviticus 11:7-8, bacon is a big no no: "and the pig, which does indeed have hoofs and is cloven-footed, but does not chew the cud and is therefore unclean for you. Their flesh you shall not eat, and their dead bodies you shall not touch; they are unclean for you."

Also, no cross breeding of animals, multiple crop rotations, or wearing clothes of two different threads is allowed according to Leviticus 19:19: "Keep my decrees. Do not mate different kinds of animals. Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material."

It's not a conspiracy, it's an open collective drive.

Go back to the scenarios I had pointed to earlier.

You fuck your wife, and the gays fuck their "husbands" in their bedrooms. Okay, I don't care too much in this case.

But then the gay's adopt children, or use modern genetics to have children.

When the gays pass on their own DNA it goes against the reason nature creates gays. They are not supposed to pass on their line. They are not supposed to overpopulate and create more competition in the sexual market.

Social problem:

When the gays either adopt or have their own kid, then this kid will be in school with your kid. To make this kid feel more comfortable, gay normalcy will be taughed from kindergarten onwards. You kid is supposed to remain inoocent, childlike, and free from any sexual confusion till probably middle school.


The gay parents will invite your kid over for a play date. Your kid will be confused as fuck. You can not decline this invitation for fear of being named a bigot. If your kid repeats any of your bigoted misogynistic transphobic words while in the presence of the gays, then you will be shunned from society, and might be put into prison. Maybe they can take your kids away from you for raising them in an ignorant and toxic environment. Am I reaching here? I don't think I am reaching too much.

Now imagine it is not you, but a very conservative couple. You have atleast seen the world, and might be okay with sending you kid on a play date at a gay couples' house. But for these [probably religious] traditional people this is horror! Even worse, imagine it's not an American couple at all, but an educated but very traditional couple from some very conservative country. The foreign couple will have no idea how to behave in the PC gay culture and will probably have taught their kid some pretty "homophobic" things. They might even blurt something out themselves.

What if this couple trying to make it in this strange land has their child taken from them and the parents put in prison? They have planned their whole life and saved money to come to America and now their entire life is ruined just because the gay police couldn't respect their conservative culture.

I think you underestimate the intolerance on the other side.

I don't think this is reaching. I personally know of immigrant couples that beat their kids to discipline them and had these kids taken away. The school teacher reports them and they have their kids taken away and the husband is in jail. I personally think beating kids is totally wrong, but you see how the Government is out of control here. Fair enough. So what to do about the massive number of heterosexuals who are completely unfit to be parents and are breeding like rabbits? However, if you truly believe in the bible, and base your life on biblical truth as being absolute, you can't logically pick and choose which parts to obey. It is God's word, and therefore 100% truth.

Some of these laws, the laws of Moses, were completed after Jesus did his ministry work. They are no longer valid are were only intended for a certain time that has now long past. Not following them does not mean you have altered anything. They are no longer relevant after the ministry work of Jesus.

Some of the things you quote still stand: reverence of the Sabbath (Saturday not Sunday)and not eating unholy meats like Crab and Pork. And of course no gay marriage. No that doesn't mean we should kill people who break these laws, again that's the law of Moses, but it does mean it is still a sin.

You have been blasting on this thread against the bible but your understanding of it isn't the best. You are also switching between the Bible and religion a lot while the two are very different things. The Bible particularly warns against false prophets and those who do evil in the name of God. The idea of mainstream religions doing terrible things is not surprising and is predicted by the bible. I think this is blinding you to evaluate the Bible separate of that.

I get your view that you see all the damage that religion has done so surely the whole thing is a scam. The two (religion and the Bible) are quite separate and the failings of one does not mean the falsehood of the other.
