I'm surprised that no one has made a pizza machine yet. Mixing the dough might be the biggest challenge, but provided that the right amount of water and flour were placed in specially designed containers, a mixing mechanism probably already exists for professional bakeries.

You'd need a stretching mechanism to turn the dough into a pizza shaped slab, but this would be easy -- just need a mechanical rolling pin. Adding the toppings is the easy part...assuming that they come pre-sliced. One of you location-independent wannabe boys should get on this.

I know - since there are so many jobs in Washington, they should just move up about 30 million new immigrants to enhance and make vibrant of the local economy.

I was at an alright restaurant the other day and the waiter brought over my check which said "20% = x"

I thought to myself : wtf? Is this guy crazy? What entitles him to twenty percent of the bill, especially if a significant amount of that bill was glasses of wine he brought for me and my girl.

I worked as a waiter in college before I got my career, so I know its tough, but if you are a waiter expecting 20% of my bill for bringing some high priced drinks you need a reality check.

I understand that some states dont pay waiters minimum wage (Texas) but Cali sure does. Over these next few yewrs I think I may phase tipping down to 5-10% unless the waiter really deserves it.

It's absurd when people think they are entitled to a gratuity. And a lot of restaurants charge a mandatory tip for carry out orders. I'm to believe that putting my dinner in a bag is worth 15%? As bad as restaurants are, bars are worse.

I used to be a member at a private club (quit when I moved). They instituted a mandatory 20% tip on all bills. Service dropped dramatically.

It's always a bad idea to pay someone the same amount regardless of service level.

The effects of minimum wage increases often show up in the labor force participation rate rather than the unemployment rate.

This makes sense if you think about it from the low wage worker's perspective. If you know the minimum wage is higher than what you can reasonably hope to earn in the job market, you stop looking for a job so you no longer get counted as unemployed by government statistics.

Tipping is bullshit. College Humor did a thorough video on it.

Cliffnotes: Tipping in the US is an antiquated practice from the early 1900s that was designed to save restaurant-owners from paying employees minimum wage during Prohibition/Great Depression.
