Do you really care about living into old age? I personally don't think there's a ton of upside to living past one's, say, mid-50's. My father is in his early 70's and in great shape for his age - and I wouldn't want to be him.

How old are you? I've always found it's only the very young who say things like this!

My father is in his 70s; he still weight trains 3 days per week, is an active racing car driver, runs a large business, reads countless books per year etc etc etc and is frankly having a fantastic time.

Life is short as it is...no need to wish it away.

Berlusconi party with European politicians - Czech premiere was photographed on that one.

Sure - after some time sugar may be necessary, but you can be in much better shape than Berlusconi with exercise and TRT.

I know some 70 year olds who still would do what they did when they were 20 - just female attraction is too difficult to attain.

Personally I may have other plans at that age, but who knows if I won't have a young mistress just for fun. Life is for living and not thinking that only they ears between 0-45 are worth it.

The key is to live while you are still alive.
Most living things die once they are no longer reproducing, we as men have the ability to keep doing what we do well into old age.

I don't think this is accurate. Those above 90 are one of, if not the fastest growing segments of the population.

For all you guys slamming marriage, you must be thinking about the US statistically. Even then, there was a major research study that scientists were scratching their heads on regarding the high amount of diabetes and other major health issues with Mexican Americans, because despite having all of those diseases and obesity, yet they still lived longer than their white and black counterparts in the US. Then when they went directly to Mexico to conduct more studies they found that the reason why was because they have better family life, marriages, and overall less stress hormone damage. Regardless of the number of rolls on their waists, they lived longer on average than any American, male and female alike. They cook with lard, only have avocados for a vegetable, eat tortillas, pack jelly rolls, and still live past 75 on average. Talk about trolling nature hard there!

That says alot about the culture here. Accumulating things, toys, and other useless shit will never give you the satisfaction a proper family life will ever give you. Vicariously living through children until they turn 20 and piss you off, shitty American wives and marriages, work till you drop corporate culture, the least amount of vacation days of any developed country, shit diets, high risk of death by automobile, violent gun crime, random shootings from omegas, BPA and other endocrine disruptors in the litany of plastic stuff we use that leads to low Testosterone, etc. etc.

Like Ali and Zelscorpion posted, there are all kinds of reasons why. It's never one cause. It's death by a thousand cuts. Look at the bigger, overall picture. Staying fixated on a single issue like poor marriages, out of a fear of getting divorce raped, is falling for the okeydoke. You might as well be a MGTOW with that mindset and level of analytic skill. This goes much deeper than that.

Edit: I forgot to mention the fact that we only have 1 hour lunches, force young children to forgo naps and playtimes past 3rd grade, and yet have far worse health than Europeans and Mexicans. Let's not even get started on the War on Boys. It all starts very early.

It's interesting because Mexicans in Mexico live shorter lives than Americans.

Comparison between Mexico and the U.S.

And I think this is what you're talking about:

So recent latino immigrants to America, on average, live a little longer than white and black Americans but they don't know why. They can guess, but that's it. I'm really not inclined to believe it, either, given how many overweight and obese Mexican immigrants I've seen.

If you take a blanket life expectancy, then most likely that is why. They probably took a cross section of elderly or older Mexicans. Not sections that included the 20 somethings getting chopped up by cartels.

Even if you take Mexicans out of the picture, French, and many other Europeans live much higher quality of life than we do. There is alot to learn from others but America is unable to apply much or any of it because of the workaholic culture and the other toxic aspects of culture here. It's the 800 pound gorilla in the room, and it is virtually ignored.

It is on average - there is a divergence seen in the population - most are starting to die sooner while a smaller subset goes to greater highs.

http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-23126814

The stats do not back up all those fake claims that people live longer - it is similar to the fake unemployment statistics (http://wallstreetonparade.com/2015/02/ga...jobs-data/) and the fake divorce stats which claim that marriages are becoming more stable (also fake, because they manipulate the data, exclude the remarried divorcees etc.)

As far as fresh mexican immigrants having a higher life expectancy - this can be explained by a more nutrient dense rich diet and improved living conditions. The cholesterol lie has been disproved many times, but still clings on in the mainstream: http://thecholesterollie.com/aff/
Avocados, olive oil, even good butter or coconut oil are beneficial fats that help us - the lack of those essential fats especially in old age decreases our life expectancy. Diet is one of the most contested and highly manipulated fields in current science - not even the mainstream is settled on a set definite answer to what is the best diet for humans. And they likely won't find that golden human diet, because there are too many conflicting agendas battling against each other.

"Higher quality of life" is completely subjective and depends on what one values when it comes to first world nations. The ambitious and the workaholics would be unhappy living like a middling chain-smoking Frenchman who works four hours a day. The struggle and acquiring more money and shit are what they value. I personally wouldn't have a problem living like a Frenchie, but a lot of people would. It's just a feature of America. Always has been.

Agree with that. Remember the "Mediterranean Diet"? Turns out that the biggest component of the Med Diet isn't the diet, it's the easygoing lifestyle that comes from living in some little village in Greece.

I was at a funeral last week and while I was waiting for the burial ceremony to start, I noticed something interesting walking around the graveyard. Probably half of the gravestones, the man had outlived the woman. In many cases, even though the woman was 10-20 years younger, the guy outlived her by at least a few years and sometimes longer. Come to think of it, the man I was there to pay my respects to that day had outlived his wife by 12 years. I'd always thought of it as being the case that the man died first, but walking around that graveyard I saw that probably half of the couples buried there, the man outlived the woman. I know that's not a representative sample and maybe it was just a weird anomaly for that particular spot, but I thought it was interesting.
