What are the odds that this is just another case of beta male rage lashing out at female sexual selection, a la Elliot Rodger?

To be honest, I'm not entirely surprised by this event. The Chinese live in a sexual market place that is heavily skewed in favor of women and it certainly didn't help that she was with a foreigner.

Nonetheless, a society that shuns beta males is bound to have some sort of uprising eventually.
