Mech, I hope my post didn't come off as an attack on Source. I was just discussing my justification for posting what I did. He's a cool dude and I can understand why he thinks I crossed a line, which is why I clarified with a second post.

Hmm... didn't realize people were so trigger-happy with the Report button.

Would be cool if who reported a post were visible, akin to who "liked" a post.

Rewards, in a small way, people who identify trolls, and would make people think twice about reporting something merely because it hurt their precious feelings.

When I came back to it all I saw were conspiracies, slavery and all sorts of other things.

I understand people are passionate about what they know and believe in but Tuth has had enough with the whole jew/black/Islam/Christian conspiracy thing and he has mentioned it in every single thread to do with such topics on top of multiple banning and warnings.

Honestly it seems like Roosh mentioning he was reading the Culture of Critique seems to have unleashed that shit out of the woodwork. Laugh Maybe the forum should just hold off on that until he posts his review and gives his feedback to the forum.

The only issue I really had with how that all happened was that there were a couple of other posters on the "other side" also emoted with passive-aggressiveness and insults toward other guys and seemed to not get anything.

Yeah, that surprised me too. I saw that button but never even thought to use it. I always figured it was to help identify people with low post counts making ostentatiously "spam spam spammity spam" comments.

As to reporting well established members making long, cogent posts that just happened to go against your own worldview, well, I'll have to steal this from WC:

RE: Request for clarification of moderator role
I think Tuth and Roosh are in a hard position on this one.

On the one hand, race threads without fail devolve into bitter, protracted, dog-chasing-its-tail arguments about psychological and sociological points the posters themselves seem to hardly understand. If you click straight to the final page (out of 55, doubtless) of a race thread, you read the posts and think, "what the fuck are these guys even talking about anymore?"

On the other hand, a large part of RvF's appeal is that it's free-wheeling and unconcerned about the politically correct niceties that govern discussions most everywhere else. A written rule saying "no race threads" isn't really in line with that ethos, so I can imagine the Management would hesitate to make one.

And on my third hand (useful for kino), when I read the "Camp of the Saints" thread linked in the OP, everyone in there appeared to be of sound mind and arguing honestly-held beliefs -- so it does rub the wrong way when they get suspended for "trolling."

Anyway, it seems like the best way to clear this up would be an actual, on-the-books rule against race threads, which looks to be de facto policy already. I think it's fair for Roosh to say, "these are legitimate discussions but they're not conducive to the type of community we want here, and there are better places to have them." (There are.)

Generally I like the forum policy of banning useless, raving, or barely-literate posters, and hope that continues unabated.

I have been "moderated" before. I didnt liked that, but that doesnt means the mods are wrong.

Many people made great contributions to make this forum what it is now. They worked hard, and they are not going to risk that just to please a few butthurt posters.

Keep up the good work gentlemen. Nevermind the trollocks.

RE: Request for clarification of moderator role
Never had a problem with the mods here but that's probably because I stay out of all race threads and rarely, if ever participate in them. Nothing good comes out of those. Plus I don't go around trolling or insulting other members even if I disagree with them. Seems like a simple formula in my opinion.

- Is petty and insulting in his post

Laugh

For the record, I've only used the report button a few times ever (on pretty blatant trolling stuff), but this is exactly where guys get in trouble. Most of the "usual suspects", as Tuth put it, constantly resort to emotionally charged and/or belittling language to make their point.

"Red pill" does not mean kicking dirt in people's face or using a bunch of buzz words to whip everyone into a hysteria.

After being warned, the reasonable ones realize, yeah, maybe I was being a little bit of dick. But the "dark triad 4 life"-ers continue trying to run asshole game on a forum full of dudes until they're eventually AMOGed by Tuth.

I've had my wrist slapped a time or two. From Roosh and Tuth. Does it suck when you get that warning, and your thread gets locked? Yep.

But when you're here you're a guest in someone's house. Act accordingly.

Yeah I agree. I think there needs to be some kind of distinction between real race trolling and an opinion you simply disagree with and I think a lot of people are hitting the report button for comments they simply don't like. I think I've only hit the report button maybe three times since I joined, one was when I had a piss match with L M McCoy a year back in an immigration thread, which we later resolved our differences through PM.

People should only hit the report button when its absolutely necessary, at least that's how I go about doing it. This is RVF baby! Where else can you debate people with radically different viewpoints from you and gain knowledge and wisdom? Personally I like debating people radically different from me, hell even I start my own immigration threads from time to time because I like learning and reading different viewpoints even if I disagree whole-heartily. One thing I have learned throughout my time here is that nothing is gained from debate unless both parties are receptive and its ok to get heated every once in a while.

That thread wasn't even that bad personally. No different than any other immigration thread really, or maybe I'm just used to so many that I already know what to expect. My thing is if you don't like a thread, then don't go on it. Problem solved.

just my two cents on this matter

RE: Request for clarification of moderator role
I think that there should be a formal review and report on the forum's moderation/banning levels and procedure, to be co-published by Roosh and Tuth.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the troll guide sticky thread was created around 2/3 years ago, before many of us were members. Since that time, there has been the Charlie Hebdo attacks, the Lee Rigby killing and the rise of IS. It is understandable that there is some worry about Muslim activities, which often translates into complaining about these in a race/religion thread.

I think the majority of members would agree that the moderation on obvious trolls, often newbies, is swift and excellent. This should not be changed, what I think should be debated is the rules on essentially what constitutes forum 'free speech'.

I remember a forum I used to visit added female mods and they changed the entire culture of the site to their liking. They would ban you/give warnings for basically any reason they wanted. They even started banning people for making "sexist" jokes and other bullshit. Happy we won't ever have that problem here.

RE: Request for clarification of moderator role
Just because someone reports you doesn't mean the mods have to bow and ban/warn the guy and I don't think that is the case. I think getting reported should be hidden to the general public. Otherwise you open the doorway for random internet feuding when some troll gets salty and wants to harass the reporter.

I don't imagine that people are that trigger happy when it comes to reporting high ranking, long-time members. I've never felt the need to click report on posts from guys who have been here a long time, but those guys stick around forever because they add way more than they take away (if they do take away at all). I only report threads with retarded titles like "do asian women like white guys more?" or "what is the deal with indians?" Those are racebait threads and if you consider those valid threads then I don't know what to tell you.

The only people who need to review the reports are Roosh and Tuth, if they notice that some guy is a serial reporter I'll leave them to decide what to do with the offender.

RE: Request for clarification of moderator role
I'm surprised this is even an issue. We're all grown, intelligent men here. If you are enraged by a ridiculous racial, religious or offensive post; go sleep on it or lift it off first. If you return still offended, I have no clue how you handle approach rejection. Stir the pot only if you are adding valuable ingredients. Intellect and discretion. It's the members who haven't "liked" or posted anything, but are watching us from the Panopticon.

I like the moderation. Have you seen the Bodybuilding.com forum? Everybody there is a 210lb. Adonis-physiqued Christian Grey hyper-Alpha at 7% BF, benches 500 and squats 700. Then a simple lifting question pops up and they scamper into the woods. Here, I can ask about the economic and sexual climate of a specific city in China and get instant inter-personal answers.

The point is: Tuth and Roosh have to be trigger-happy to preserve the repertoire of our Garden of Eden. I've never reported anybody, because I believe the incompetent and "offended" always weed themselves out or leave in frustration.

I never said that game equated to only women. You're drawing this assumption.

Ask yourself how do threads focused on venting issues with religion improve you as a man, or improve your relations with women, or improve your relations with any human being you interact with.

The rules are pretty clearly laid out. Just avoid race threads and you will have practically no reason to worry about anything. If you really want to talk about things that you can't talk about here, make another forum.

RE: Request for clarification of moderator role
I think a good solution would be to have a report dropdown that makes the reporter give a reason for his reporting. That way the moderator won't have to guess as to why people are reporting someone and it would have the added effect of showing people that they may be reporting over petty reasoning. The time it would take to write down a reason would make the reporter think twice or, the reporter may see that there is no real reason.
