It only seems appropriate to address Roosh's post using animated gifs.

I enjoy talking about race as much as the next guy but I think like Roosh said in one article (can't find link) at one point you have to take a step back and realize that race theory, beyond what is personally useful just becomes too much noise. I am as guilty of this as anyone.

On another note:

RE: Request for clarification of moderator role
I'd like the moderators to institute a new rule, and this thread might be a good place to bring that up.

What I'd like is if new members were required to contribute constructively to at least 50 threads before being allowed to start their own -- or contacting other members through private messages.

It seems like I'm constantly seeing troll threads started by members who have three or four posts to their credit. What happens then is the moderators are called in and everyone piles on. It can be funny, but it's a waste of everyone's time.

And since some newbies come aboard to ask advice, I think we should start an advice thread specifically for that. Just my two cents.

I agree with the first suggestion. I haven't suggested it to Roosh and Tuth myself, because I can only assume that it's something they've considered already and have their reasons for not using, but to me it would make sense.

I'm not in favour of the second suggestion. It would have a useful purpose, but I do get PMs on a very regular basis with questions about China and these are often from noobs.

I like answering these PMs and while requiring a certain post count to send PMs might encourage participation, that participation might not be productive contributions if new members are simply attempting to reach a certain post count to receive PM privileges.

"I can count on one hand, literally, the number of women I have ever met that can take that kind of advice, accept it and make use of it without their epic egos setting metaphorical fire to the conversation.

Most women "looking for advice" are in reality looking for someone to validate their cosmic victimhood, because it's not really their fault, because it's never their fault. This behavioural trait isn't absent among men, but when we fail society cares not, while when women fail there is no shortage of comforting platitudes on offer from every vector.

I'm Australian. That laid-back cultural attitude is why we've had very little political or religious violence in 200+ years of history, until recently.

Basically the vibe I'm getting from this discussion is that the opinions of posters need to be strongly-moderated to remain uniform and thereby keep the board strong, and, as such, no criticism of religious, cultural or racial diversity will be tolerated.

I don't particularly care for those tedious conversations, but, as a very logical man, the concept of Unity in the name of diversity irks me. I know, I know. It's 2015. Doublethink is just how reality is now. 2+2=5. My vagina is a penis. There are three lights.

Anyway:

Tuth is a strong moderator, and someone has to do it, but with Power Structure based on Threat Of Exile, there will always be clearly defined in-and-outgroups; a climate of fear; suspicion; power schisms; some level of personal dishonesty in posting; and very little member loyalty to any member now 'tainted' due to the fear of 'guilt by association', which is why it is useful to have an open discussion like this now and again so there is the perception by forum members of checks and balances to thereby undercut these simmering slights and resentments. It simply is Good, Effective Leadership.

I'm trying to be reasonable and see if from both sides. So: 'live and let live', mainly to discourage the 'Report' button from functioning as a 'Triggered' button, and so that Tuth isn't spending all his time extinguishing petty shit fights by guys who should just Harden The Fuck Up. Wouldn't you rather he had time to write articles that trigger Typists?

Quote:In my opinion, this remains the single best place for men anywhere online. Let's appreciate it for what it is -- a great achievement sustained by years of hard work -- and help keep it that way.

It's a Grand Empire, but every Empire has its season. We're in the dying days of the free-and-open internet. The last year of online observation to me is just the smell of fallen leaves being thrown onto bonfires.

RE: Request for clarification of moderator role
I agree with Roosh's assessment of my "contributions" to that thread.

I lost my cool after someone mentioned he thought it was a good libertarian idea to open all borders everywhere for everyone and I went a bit overboard in the harshness of my words.

But I did feel that the punishment of an 80% warning level and getting called various group-names was a bit too harsh - any intellectual fart on my side would have resulted in a ban.

Also - for all those not knowing me (haven't started meeting 'sphere guys yet, though it's likely that I will bump into Roosh anytime now since we both live in Poland and hunt in the same cities) - I am a - again slightly controversial - believer in reincarnation. Not the Hindu kind where you are born in a cast supposedly showing your higher or lower spiritual development (nice scam btw to stay in power for millennia) - it is more the conviction that we are all Soul - beings more divine than our mortal bodies. Thus by proxy we all (yes - even the psychopathic cat-eye-popping-stompers here) are very similar in our divine center and at least potential future. Of course we are at various stages of consciousness with different experiences, bodies, education, mental engrams that were shaped by our countries, families and individual cultures & religions - so naturally we would differ greatly on many topics. And despite that we agree here in those RVF halls strangely on so many things despite being sometimes continents apart.

The point I want to make is that I empathize to a degree with all living creatures on earth and sometimes feel a certain connection to many. Now - that does not mean that I won't hurt anyone like some lamb waiting to be slaughtered - I rather adhere to the Samurai's Zen viewpoint of killing your enemy without needless hate & emotion.

Ultimately hate and constant anger will only hurt yourself darkening your thoughts and interactions with your loved ones and yourself. No one remaining in such a state will be happy, because we are fundamentally not created that way.

Now all of that may appear New-Agey, but keep in mind that I prefer my feet to remain well-grounded in the dirt and gutter of reality - keeping it real and dirty. But I don't need or want to participate in any contented topics here - ultimately there is little to be gained from this and too many people get sidetracked or accuse the wrong kind of people for our world's problems (i.e. poor immigrants who just want to have a better life running away from negative powers beyond their creation and influence).

So no reason to feed that misguided male hamster.

I try to live by this guy's philosophy which is both spiritual and down-to earth at the same time.

And now back to something more constructive letting that topic go.

I've had a few newbs contact me via PM on various topics; it can be a little infuriating when they ask a question which one replies to at length only to never hear from them again.

However, if five minutes of my time enriches another person's life in some way (I hope), then it's worth it.

I think starting threads is a great idea; lots of newbs seem to get themselves banned for what is essentially an excessive desire to "fit in".

When you join a group, be it online or in real life, being patient, assessing the dynamics and slowly engaging said group is a skill in itself.

It would actually help those guys become better people by making them wait.

RE: Request for clarification of moderator role
In my view the forums moderation tends to lean slightly on the side of excessive. I have seen some contributors banned that I felt added value, posts inspire moderation that I thought I didn't need it and personal preference and judgement supersede forum rules in that moderation.

Having said that I don't see the ban logs, and if this is what's required to keep the place functional, I'll take it. I'd rather this than have moderation be a little too loose.

Stay the course Roosh and Tuth.

The PM function for new members works both ways. Sometimes a new poster chimes in with a great datasheet or knowledge that you might have some follow up question to by PM.

On a serious note, I think this is a great forum and have gotten much benefit while trying to contribute where possible. Sure there might be tweaks that might make things better, but they also would have unintended consequences. It's not broken, don't fix it is my opinion.

Also, add to this rule a post limit per day, say 5 posts for 'new' members.

Otherwise you will get a spam of random posts all throughout the forum adding worthless nonsense just so they have the privilege to start their own thread.

Also ditto to what Suits said.

Want a solution to all of these problems?

Start framing racial discussions as cultural ones.
Example:
"Jewish sub-cultures such as Marxism, et all are destroying America."

Racial arguments make more sense when re-framed as cultural ones. You also get the added benefit of not setting off people's, "you're a racist!" alarm.

White nationalists could seriously start trumping everyone if they were smart enough to reframe their arguments.

RE: Request for clarification of moderator role
Race discussions on the internet are trite as fuck and often reek of paranoia and insecurity. Religious discussions often devolve into atheists flinging shit at Christians and everyone flinging shit at Muslims.

The internet, let alone RVF, is just not a good place for these topics to be discussed at all because the veil of anonymity emboldens trolls and leads to inflammatory things being written that probably wouldn't be uttered in person.
