He hasn't asked for any confidential information.

I just think the heat he is getting is a bit much.

He is trying to help people and all he asks for it is done in the form of a PM.

Is that so unreasonable?

Has he become some sort of servant to us and has no rights?

Edit: Maybe he just wanted to help those who are registered on RVF rather than the lurkers who take but never give.
He has his reasons I imagine. Someone could always ask why this process vs. that process.

Thank you Sam.

The people have PMing me, and I agreed to replying to their PMs
as well, because as far as privacy is concerned, it is not a wise thing
to put your own travel plans in a public forum,
so I understood their choices.

Putting a list of the 20 major airlines that have good low promotional
prices in some months of 2015 will not help
those of us who really need the flights.
This thread, as you can see in the statistics of how many views it has,
it was read by approximately 4600 "lurkers",
unregistered members coming from search engines,
probably googling for cheap flights in Europe
and U.S. discussions

The registered members of RVF are only a tiny minority compared to the
more than 4600 "anonymous guests" reading this thread
over the last week.

I believe nobody would want to advertise airlines names to thousands of
random unregistered lurkers, nobody wants to drive up
the prices of these 20 airlines (me neither), and nobody wants the promotional prices
to get completely sold out fast (me neither)

I answered so far close to 100 PMs and yes, I will probably stop
doing this sometimes in the near future, as Samsamsam
advised.

While a majority of people do see the huge value
when I am saving for them often
even over 1000 $ per trip, it is basic psychology and
basic human nature to not fully value
something that they get for free.

Few RVF members here told me also that
such service of saving so much money to people
should not be for free, because everyone will
abuse it (which hapenned by the way, just as Samsamsam
and other RVF members predicted):

(03-23-2015 02:12 PM)Spike Wrote:  If you're absolutely certain you can save a lot of guys money here, why don't you set up some kind of business here on the forum via pm. Forum'ers ask you for the best deal, you find it for them and charge them 25$ on a 'no cure/no pay' base. I'm sure lots of guys here wouldn't mind paying 25$ to save hundreds, me included. You just make a screenshot of the best deal you can find regarding dates and places. No bookings, just a screenshot and a paypal payment.

(03-24-2015 12:56 PM)Vacancier Permanent Wrote:  If you can truly deliver the kind of deals you're mentioning, then you're sitting on a gold mine and should have your own site/biz.

What are your thoughts about this brainstormed fresh idea:
any RVF members who want to collaborate sometimes to make
a simple, attractive, minimalistic, practical, nice little website
to offer this service of finding the lowest prices in the world
for any flights or trips - if you have knowledge about
creating this kind of simple professional website
and you see the huge value in saving hundreds of dollars
everytime people fly, you can message me if that is ok with you?

What's more dangerous - posting the flight dates publicly here so that we can publicly help someone find the best fares or blindly trusting Magicone to do so?

I don't believe that Magicone can find better prices than others on the forum can. Although he does seem to be acting honestly and within the best interest of the forum members.

He continuously mentions '20 airlines' but has only linked to Wow Air and Norwegian, which is also misleading. I say everyone post what flights they are looking for here and see if he is the real deal.

Yes, for January - March 2016 there are still very many deals
available at under $ 200 (some even under $ 170)

per flight United States -> Poland.

Check your PM as well.

For example this week, inside Europe,
some of these 20 major airlines that have
promotional deals with very low prices on certain dates,

offer the following promotions for flights in April, May, June, September, October, November 2015 and January, February and Match 2016:

Promotional deals for Direct Flights Full Price:
(all the airport taxes included, and one hand cabin luggage included
as well)

(the same routes, by ground transportation:
buses or trains, cost between $ 60 and $ 250 )

Direct flights between any of the large cities
of the following countries: only $ 5 - $ 15 (yes, really)

Poland (Katowice, Poznan, Warszawa, Krakow, etc)
Hungary (Budapest, etc)
Sweden (Stockholm, Goteborg, etc)
Norway (Oslo, etc)
Denmark (Copenhagen, etc)
Germany (Berlin, Hamburg, etc)
Italy (Milano, Venice, Roma, etc)

Hey magicone, I have one question about travel agencies.
Do you know if it is possible to land a job in a travel agency without specific experience or do you and your colleagues have completed a vocational training beforehand? Thanks!

If you want to be the manager of a travel agency, usually it is required to
have finished Tourism studies in your university.

But for the regular jobs inside a travel agency (reservation officer, secretary, etc) usually there are very little requirements (it is
probably at the other end of the spectrum compared
to the number of requirements and studies needed to work

total price including all airport taxes and one hand cabin luggage: $ 147

Other good deals in the same period:

United States to Budapest Hungary: $ 139

Over 120 PMs answered and just now managed to finish all the backlog.

Thank you for the suggestions that many made about the title name of the thread,
to be changed to:

" I will find for you major airlines flights anywhere in US, Europe and between US and Europe
for under $ 200 "

I do not know how to do this titlename change, however.

Response for Sandman and the request California to Hungary:

I recommend flying in October 2015, directly from Los Angeles LAX airport,
it will be $ 199, with just 1 stopover in London.

So Los Angeles - London - Hungary Budapest

check PM. Glad to help

And this is how this same trip has completely different prices
today (when all the promotional prices tickets for the month of May
have been sold out) (3 weeks have passed since the first screenshot)

Observe that the same places for the exact same flight
for the exact same date are sold now at almost double prices.

The most important is the time when you reserve the flight...
it makes all the difference in the world.

this late summer:

lowest prices right now are after the beginning of September,
Flight from Florida to Montenegro, Europe with 1 stopover, lowest total prices between
$ 177 and $ 199 (with 1 luggage included and all airport taxes)

Today, three weeks later, once the promotional tickets
have been sold out, the prices of this airline are also
double for the same flights on the same dates.

Now there are other many airlines that have promotional prices under $ 200
for flights between U.S. and Europe,

and under $ 40 for flights inside Europe almost between any 2 large cities from Europe

Answer for user Mi Amor:

The cheapest flights from United States - California are available from:

LAX Los Angeles, SFO San Francisco, SAN San Diego and OAK Oakland.

Let me know which months you would like to travel / find the cheapest flights for you.

Currently the 10 cheapest flights from California to Europe are around $ 160.

To get to any city from Europe, many times 1 stopover will be useful,
as for example in London.

While online search results will recommend you prices of $ 900 - $ 1400
for flight Los Angeles to Budapest as being normal,

the truth is that you can get those exact same flights
for under $ 200.

Example of the second flight (connection) from London to Budapest price:

what's the best deal you're seeing from London to LA or SF in August? Assume that might be a more expensive time given it's a big holiday month in Europe right? Thx.

Yes, July and August are the most expensive months to fly
because these are the summer holidays months when
a majority of people take their times off their jobs
and go travelling around.

The lowest prices in the month of August you will get
on one of these dates:
19, 20, 22, 25, 26, 27 and 29 August you have flights
from London to Los Angeles, California and San Francisco, California
for $ 230 - $ 255
(the prices that I can see now)

( By the way, as anyone can see, the online searches with the tools
that were advertised by others on this thread, are giving prices
almost 10 times more expensive for this exact same flight: )

RE: How to get flights from California or U.S. to Europe for $ 200
Very soon this thread will surpass 10,000 readers and over 180 PMs received about trips / destinations for which I was able to find prices between two and six times cheaper than anyone can find online using any travelling or booking website.

Many times a very good idea to save easily few hundred dollars is to be flexible
with the dates, or be able to choose an airport that is some 30 miles
more far away but from where some airlines offer much cheaper flights / promotional prices.

For example: flying from Oakland, California, instead of San Francisco, California.

Also, the prices for flights in April, May and first half of June
will be always much much much cheaper than the flights in the high season
of holidays July and August.

Is this some like hardcore stand-by type flights? I just purchased a stand-by flight round trip from Daytona Beach, FL to London and back, for $750. These prices sound ridiculously cheap. Is it a sure seat type thing, or a lucky stand-by seat?

Very good question.

Because of the large budgets of advertising that "travel" websites
and travel agencies have, the majority of people have been brainwashed
(anchored) to believe that $ 1500 price is a normal price for a quality flight
Florida - London.

You can read more about the effect of anchoring and its
huge importance in marketing:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anchoring

Of course the majority of people do not think from
how those huge budgets of millions of dollars spent in advertising
are possible:

obviously because the margins of profits of travel websites
and travel agencies are H U G E

from the $ 1500 price that you usually pay for a flight Florida - London
actually less than 20% goes to the airline.

It is a very common cognitive bias shown by social
experiments over and over again:

Those who pay $ 2000 for a TV, are very happy and proud,
put the TV in the main room and show it to their neighbours, etc.

Those who pay for the exact same identical TV, only $ 200
which is its production cost plus a minimum profit margin,
are treating the TV as an
unimportant part of their basement sometimes.

So the answer is: what I offer here are just the real,
lowest prices that you can reserve today
directly from the large airlines companies

Full seat, full direct flights, no tricks, just the exact same
flight that you get when you pay $ 1500 for it

Also:
- no lucky seat, just 100% sure normal seat
- no hardcore anything
- no standby waiting
- no standby flights
- no standing up places
- not any kind of tricks
- no flights with many days stopovers
- no Malaysia airlines
- generally absolutely no BS at all

I received already over 190 PMs. Two RVF members sent me
requests to search for 6 - 8 different destinations - I can´t do that,
I have invested many hours every day into this,
and I cannot keep up with this pace.

Please send maximum 2 destinations in your requests.
