I've seen a few in the clubs/bars but dark haired girls are exponentially more prevalent. If I were you I'd look up Vancouver on POF/OKC to me its a decent indicator of the types of girls you'll see around here, as always there are exceptions to the rule. I'd also try the site clubzone and look up some of the venues, they'll have pictures and you can see the different girls/crowds.

a few more thoughts:

- bars with "welcoming committees" here to smile as you come in and show you to your table, presumably to stop "undesirables" getting in, but it means you're directed to a specific table straight away, so now i'm tending to skip any bars with said welcoming committees, it defintely takes away that spontaneity of being able to casually wander into any bar you want, without being judged at the door and marched to your table

- big screen tvs in many bars (ok, i guess this is normal enough), but also in cafes and restaurants?!

- an entire section of the city (carrell st. and several blocks east from there) dominated by dope smokers and down and outs, entire streets filled with women that look like sly stallone's mom and men that look like nick nolte in 'down and out in beverly hills'
i'm not sure how this benefits vanvouver to have tens of thousands of stoners wandering around like zombies...

- some very cute asian women and some cute imports of european descent but too many women that look like tennis star samantha stosur (healthy and not unattractive but a bit too much testosterone going on)

- great selection of health food stores (urban fare, choice markets, etc), but exorbitant prices (thankfully you also have some asian stores like TNT where you'll pay more reasonable rates)

- for a city, the air is some of the freshest and cleanest air i've ever experienced and as you head up to capilano and grouse mountain, it's pristine (haven't wandered up to whistler but can imagine how pure it must be up there)

- it's not perfect but as north america goes, it's a pretty impressive city, if i were to move to a city in north america, i think this would be close to, if not top of my list, so long as i was earning vancouver sized wages!

Good breakdown.

I definitely agree about the women, like I said sometimes it feels like there is just one genderwalking around out there. Downtown definitely has the better dressed women (and men) so theres some competition there. I'll be examining the different areas of town and hopefully giving a better breakdown of it.

The air is great, the ocean is a 5 min walk for me and I can see english bay from my room, nothing better than sticking my head out my window in the morning and getting some of that sea air. As I'm typing this the sea fog is rolling in, makes me want to have a fire on the beach.

The Academic: on brodway + fir (1 block west of granville)
- I went on the weekend. $10 cover seemed kind of steep seeing as it was just a sit down bar with a bad dj. The inside was nice but they were playing top 40, tvs everywhere playing black+white movies, didn't seem congruent. The bartender was an asshole to me because I had to use the debit machine (there were 4 people at the bar at most)
The space and seating was good, a few cuties at the bar itself, a couch area, stand up tables, pool table/fooseball (again not really congruent)
- the special was an old Milwaukee and a shot of tequila for $9. again, looks like it should be classy, but they're serving the cheapest beer you can buy.
- Small area to dance, some girls went in there
- the ratio was rediculous, 2:1 at least girls to guys. most of the girls were in groups there and i saw a lot of pairs of girls obviously there to get laid.
- all and all it was weird, didn't really have an identity and the staff was kind of rude, I might go back on a friday to see if the ratio is the same, but I wouldn't reccomend it. Its like its the bar equivalent of a kid who just left college and is going to job interviews in his dad's oversized suit.

Trees Organic
- downtown, by the waterfront stop. cool place to grab a cappuccino ($4) and a slice of the best cheesecake I've had. Small tables outside and inside so its good for getting close with the girl. I'd reccomend this place as its close to a lot of bars/clubs and shopping/daygame areas. I opened one girl in line asking about the cheesecake but her friend showed up and left.

Daygame: Pacific Centre

potential gold mine for day gaming, big mall downtown, if you walk down robson there are tons of shops. Everyone is dressed nice so you better have your fashion game down. I approached a few girls before I met my date (a la Day Bang) and got a good vibe going, they were open to conversation, but didn't really give me a lot to work with. I also chatted up some of the workers at the stores me and the girl went to. I messed up on one but it netted me a possible job opportunity. Me: this place seems slow/boring her: no im just really tired me: oh out late last night (smirks) -- i shouldn't have gone so personal, but we went to the same school, turns out she works 2 jobs and the other is hiring, she told me to ask for some guy. absolutely NOBODY was approaching anybody (save for some elderly people doing what they do best)

ANYWAYS. like I said stores everywhere, people dressed really nice. Here's the kicker. I hardly saw any woman over the age of 30 and under the rating of 7. I couldn't believe it, I actually felt embarrassed to be with the girl I was with.

Ha. I used to live a few blocks from the Pacific Centre. There were always quite a few hot sales assistants at Holt Renfrew, but I'm way too much of a cheap bastard to actualy buy anything there, so just used the store as a thouroughfare to stay out of the rain.

The old Food Court, moved during the most recent major renovations, also used to be good for gaming, but the current one is so crap that it puts everyone in a bad mood.

If ESL students are your thing, and you want to avoid Robson Street for some reason, the Tim Hortons and Starbucks on the West Pender side are good during the day. Better than the Food Court anyway.

Same here. I used to get it a lot more about 5-10 years ago though. Guys would be all hating when I would hook up with a hot asian girl and they blame it on my white people kavorka. I would just ask them how much work had they put into getting with asian girls.

Asians in Vancouver hang-out everywhere. There really aren't public venues were Asians would not be welcome. To be honest it's probably more likley that you'd find the odd parochial place in Richmond where Whites, and non-Chinese in general, would not be welcome.

I get some of the "hate on the whiteman" attitude since there are definitely some Asian girls with geniune White-guy fetishes, but honestly, it really doesn't help your game as an Asian man to even bother with them. They have their own problems and predjudices. Just concentrate on your game and what you are doing.

Vancouver is interesting in it's racial mix. I'd say roughly 47.5% broadly European and 47.5% broadly Asian (predominantly Chinese, but including people from all over Asia). So neither group really predominates overall. So not a lot of tension. As a White guy I only once, in many years, heard an Asian guy complaining to me about "racism", or something like that, and just laughed in his face. He was a complete real-life troll trying to stir a non-existant pot.

Have a good time in Vancouver. If you're active look at the hikes on the North Shore mountains. For a chance to meet other people try the Grouse Grind (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grouse_Moun...se_Grind). Literally 1000's of people on this trail every summer weekend. But don't underestimate it. It's fairly tough. It will do nothing for your cred if you have to be rescued and stretchered out half way up because you've collapsed.

Gorilla Food - on Richards Street, just off West Hastings St.
Small unassuming little vegan/natural foods café in a basement, populated by hippies, students with laptops and a few random tourists/out of towners like myself
Sampled almond milk here for the first time, in a massive f*ck off pitcher
and had some goji/hemp pastry concoction which was incredible
Only made the one visit here, a shame really as one of the waitresses possessed the most impressive gravity defying bosom i've seen in many a month (or year for that matter)

The Buzz cafe & espresso bar - corner of Homer & Smithe St
This was one of my regular haunts during my time in Van
Great place to catch an afternoon java with the sun streaming in
Layout is ideal for a spot of day gaming at the weekends, the girls serving will often as not lead you into conversations with the other customers, this is something that gives you an 'in' with any potential targets, which is a great help - something that happens all to rarely where I'm from!

So yeah banging the college aged girls really depends on when you come. The main bar on campus is good for the first few weeks of a semester, around special events and the end of school. You need to have a student ID and go with someone who goes here to get in though. OR you could go just before they start the bar/carding stuff (at about 8-9) get some food and watch a game. Theres another bar off campus filled with dirty sluts who love dick, but again thats only good for the first few weeks of the year. If you need a pot hookup I could talk to a friend for you.

I just wanted to add a few spots to the Vancouver list.

First off as soon as I land I take the train to Beatty street. I always start my return to Van with a fricasse breakfast from Medina Cafe and a white chocolate lavender latte. I usually take the early morning flights so I am good and hungry when I arrive. Nothing starts the day quite right like eggs with short ribs. They also make these mini waffles with some amazing sauces. If I am extra hungry I will order a couple.

A couple venues that have been over looked that work well for the players who are 30+ are the hotel bars. I love hitting them up before heading out to a club. Fairmont Pacific rim is my favourite. The bar is kind of whack and off to the corner and half behind an escalator, so best to snag a seat out in the main area. A lot of hot women are rolling in and out of that place all night long.

I also like Hawksworth which is the Hotel Georgia or something like that. I'm lazy to google the Hotel it is in but I am pretty sure that is the name. It is another high end place with a lot of hot women rolling in and out. Both places usually have groups of 3-5 women out for drinks. So you have to bring your A game to get into the group and then of course isolate.

One thing I hate about Vancouver though is no one will look you in the eyes when you walk past them. You make eye contact with guy or girl and they immediately look down and away. It is so bad that if I am in an obnoxious mood I will literally step in front of them and see if they run into me. I don't know what it is about Van, but everyone does that. You go anywhere in the Prairie provinces and guys give you a head nod or even say what's up. Most of Canada is like that in fact, even more friendly in the maritimes. It's not that people in Van are dicks, they are just pussies I think. It does make it easier to pick girls up as most of the herbs will not approach. So if you guys are flying in and noticing the same thing don't let it reflect bad about the city. It's a great city, it is just some weird thing about people there.

I spent a couple of days in Vancouver earlier this month and stayed right on Granville and Nelson, its the second time I've been to the city and only have spent a total of 5 days there and it always involved heavy drinking with friends back home, so didn't get to see much. I will say that its one of the most beautiful cities in all of Canada and has pretty good night life.

One thing you can't underestimate though is the amount of riff raff on the streets there, especially at night and especially around East Hastings, you'll see people openly smoking crack and wacking needles in their arms.

I'm looking forward to spending more time in Van city when I'm back in Canada and seeing more of it.
