Interesting. In my neighborhood, there are 5 new listings with reduced prices. If they sell at their asking price, my home has dropped already by about $40,000.

But a friend just closed a place last week, and it went for $60,000 over asking. Same demographic but slightly outside the desirable neighborhood.

What it might come to, is people who are essentially stuck holding a home with a $9,000/month mortgage plus property taxes, who were only planning to flip it. Now as they start putting them up for sale, at discount prices in order to not have to pay all that money out each month, it might catch on. Suddenly the whole block is for sale with no buyers. And this is for the average home.

Some of these $40mil homes are also being flipped. These are the people who are going to come out soon, and many are going to be deep financial trouble.

I've found girls to be easier when I travel away from Vancouver but it's not impossible.

What's your demographic and what kind of girls do you like? There's some non-zero amount of competition here but it's different for clubs vs day game.

Granville strip and the mall downtown have been hotspots for PUA types to hone their craft and their approach-anything-with-a-heartbeat style has caught some news articles and fire. Would I call this competition? Not for a guy with his shit together, but dudes who are inexperienced and a little raw will get run through the woodchipper.

I have pretty mediocre night game, so I don't have success with the really hot barbie doll types in a packed club. The best looking really young girls have such a pick of the litter but that's true of any major city.

You need more edge here than in most cities I would argue. What people typically call the 'Alpha' or bad boy traits. Girls here want lots of fun and casual sex. Whether you have money or other beta/nice guy traits don't mean a damn thing. This is speaking especially so for girls who were born here or raised in the West.

If you're into asian girls (guilty) Vancouver is heaven. The international students come from Korea/China/Japan and you can meet them by day gaming. They are all looking for a boyfriend. Most just want a social circle and don't have one yet. There can be high turnover in the international schools with people switching classes so this is where you can find a 'good girl' who wants to settle down.

I'll be coming through in a couple weeks for about three days of R&R. I haven't been in a city in months, looking forward to the luxuries of modern life- stores, fruits, vegetables, going to a gym, and actually being able to eat at a restaurant. I'm going to go crazy and order everything on the menu, I don't care how much it costs. I love sushi, will check out some of the places mentioned in this thread. As long as I can look at a menu, point to an item, and have the food appear at my table without lifting a finger I'll be happy.

How hard is it to get a prepaid sim card that I can throw in my iPhone? Is it something that can be done fairy easily with a US phone or is it more of a process? I just want something I can use to navigate, look things up, and find my way.

Is the drive up to Whistler worth checking out, even for a day trip? Never been up the sea to sky highway.

Fido is your best bet for SIM. Our system is fairly similar to the USA, which means a pain in the ass for foreigners. All you need is data though, so it might be straight forward.

The drive to Whistler is great, I have done it hundreds of times and still enjoy it. Just don't do it from Vancouver on a Friday and from Whistler on Sunday. It gets a bit crazy.

Just got back from Vancouver. At 30 years old I'm a little late to the party, but I finally got my first flag and lost my virginity!! I had the most epic time of my life, and didn't even see the city. I've been talking to this chick for months (met her on one of my visits through a friend), and it is really hard to keep a woman interested and engaged over text, especially when she lives in the big city and I live on the end of the world on another planet.

I'll be the first to admit I set the bar pretty low when it comes to liking a city. Everything is relative based on your experience and frame of reference. If there is a store and I can buy an apple, I'm going to like the place. I've never had a bad time in Vancouver and love it every time I visit. You have great food, lots of shopping, good public trans, an abundance of women...no other city comes close, Vancouver is the undisputed capital of the Northwest.

I enjoyed my time in Vancouver last year

just did the math, looks like I can sneak in a weekend up there (the first weekend of 2017) from Portland where I'll be staying for a couple of days.

I got an Israeli flag up there, I was the second guy to infiltrate (according to her, she seemed extremely inexperienced so I believe her). I could stay at her place but I'm gonna go ahead and say that's not gonna happen.. since I want new flags!

I don't even know what the scene is like as far as the women there go, seeing as she was the first girl I approached when I got there, and I stayed at her place the rest of the time I was there.

Don't believe the hype - there is a ton of poosy to be had in Vancouver. Like a lot of other big cities; you have to put up with the snark and talk about 'career' etc etc. But one thing you hear over and over in Vancouver is women looking for some kind of man (read - alpha). It's a city FILLED to the brim with gays and betas. So straight women are looking for...surprise...a straight alpha male.

It only gets easier out in the suburbs.

A little anecdote. Buddy of mine flew in from Thailand just last month. I'am not necessarly talking about indian, but talking about Vancouver girls. Are they more liberal (more americanized and open) comparing to the others canadians citcies.

No... Canadian girls are socially a bit more liberal. Unless your hanging in San Fran or LA. You can read this to mean they are more brainwashed into being "sexually liberated".

Um... you might be right about Canadian girls being more social circle friendly, but I don't think that should stop you. They respect a guy with guts. Don't give up on a girl quickly... have some persistence. As long as you come across as genuine and polite you can actually try to guilt trip them for bitch shielding you.
