Been away for Jan due to uni finals but im back and out and about working on my game; just being more confident and raising my number of approaches. Last night went well so i'm happy.

Just wondering what your views are on going clubbing/out at night alone, rather than with mates. I usually go with a few friends but to be honest im starting to feel like they are holding me back. Hate to use it as an excuse but they are pretty rigid and i've got the feeling that if i were alone i'd force myself to meet more people (girls).

It's quite an alien concept for me, just wondered how many of you do it, did it feel a bit odd the first time? Im 21.

I have a strong aversion to nightclubs, and so tend to avoid the traditional "nightclub" style venue. However, I go out regularly to neighborhood bars, where it's quite usual for a man to go alone. Great freedom to go out by yourself - no arguing about where to go, how long stay, if and when to change venue, and no buying drinks for one another and having arguments about who owes whom what.

Roll out on your own and approach, approach, approach. Have fun. Build rapport with bartenders and bouncers. Maybe shoot the occasional game of pool with bar regulars. The experience will be worth it.

What do you do in these bars? I can only see talking to the bartender or peaple near the bar as viable options...
