Was Carter really a beta? That's Douglas Macarthur, with Emperor Hirohito, in the American occupied building in Japan. He had the Emperor of Japan, by popular myth a direct descendant of God, come to HIM. That's probably the most alpha thing you can do politically, yet outside of military situations where you are a victor it would be such a political faux-pas that you rarely see it.

Obama is not a playa, but that's exactly why he was elected. Some people may find criticisms about his demeanor or whatever, but that's really not important to most people as long as he isn't a big goof like good ol' Dubya.
