While I was pumping gas today, my eyes sort of wandered and caught an electrical pole.
I couldn't help but think...if that thing gave out, some guy is gonna have to go up there and fix it.

Doesn't matter if it's winter, raining, and 2am in the morning.
It's need to be fixed, there's no complaining about it.

It made me think, women just do not appreciate men enough.
We have men who have to go in harsh, possible dangerous situations just to keep our world running.
And yet here we are, with women blaming men for the faults of the world while they cuddle up in warm blankets sipping tea.

I love those sleepers. One of my personal faves is the GMC Typhoon. High performance mid-sized SUV manufactured only in 1992 and 1993.



Sporty looking little 2-door AWD SUV with the 4.3L V6 turbo charged. Such an unassuming little truck making 280HP and 360ft/lbs. 0-60mph in 5.7 secs. Damn.

Can someone explain to me the public school examination system in the US? Is it similar to the UK, where there is a public examination at ages 16 and 18 (GCSEs and A levels in England, Wales and NI) and you use these results to apply to universities and in future job applications? And then for certain universities there are different entrance tests?

I know that there is an examination called the SAT, is this something everyone takes as a high school leavers qualification (like an A level). Also I have heard of things called AP classes, is that like coursework?

SAT's are not required in public school, but you will want to take them if you want to get accepted to a decent higher learning institution, especially private. So is a university like Harvard or UCLA a private college? And a high end state school (college) would be a college like Michigan State University?

In the UK, the majority of people sit GCSEs when they are 16, in a range of compulsory subjects (Maths, English, Sciences, Language) and then some optional GCSEs which vary from school to school and student to student. Then if you do well at GCSE, you will most likely do A levels of which you usually do 3 subjects, and are examined in your final year and given a grade for each, which you require to get in to certain university courses.

Those Typhoons were bad ass for sure. I remember seeing a couple in the past and they were always a looker in addition to the power they put out.

The Sierra was a Ford of Europe product, although they did try to bring the 3-door model here in the mid-80s as the Merkur XR4Ti (the Escort looking car w/ the huge spoiler in the middle of the rear windshield) but they didn't sell well due to nobody buying that the Merkur name was a luxury name, it looked like an Escort.

Those RS Cosworth 4x4s weigh less than a modern Mini Cooper, have all the bells and whistles I like (leather interior, sunroof, alloys, etc) and have that turbocharged Cosworth engine. 220 bhp, 214 lb ft of torque, 0-60 in 5.6 seconds, a near 150mph top speed. Can't beat that, plus I'd probably have the only one in the US if I could bring one over, so rarity is a factor too. And it looks cool. Ford of Europe had some great designs from the mid-80s to mid-90s.

UCLA is a public university (University of California, Los Angeles) though it is top-tier as far as state schools go. Harvard is a private university, and is one of the most exclusive and prestigious in the country/world.

There is no blanket standardized test across the country that public education students are required to take, although many states have their own regulations. For example, I grew up in Massachusetts and in 10th grade all students were required to take the MCAS.
