I once got in bad with the credit cards, although in my defence my family had fallen on some really hard times that we thought were going to clear (but just draaaaaaged out).

I went to my bank and asked for a consolidation loan but to no surprise they seemed to think I was ok to have the debt at credit interest rates but not regular loan rates. "Computer says 'no'..."

I went home pretty shitty about it, realising that they didn't really give a shit about me, so why should I give a shit about them?

The next day I shaved, dressed nicely, went to my branch and asked to talk to the manager. I sat down in front of him and said words to the effect of "let's cut the bullshit. Under my current rates it will take me five years to get out from under this IF we don't hit another bad patch, which is a big IF. Bankruptcy clears in three years. We have zero appreciable assets. Approve the loan or I'll declare."

He said he'd see what he could do and get back to me. Called the next day. Loan approved.

Don't be suckered into thinking the credit industy is about morality. It's business. Plain and simple. Whether you're a billionaire like Trump or a schmuck like me. Don't be afraid to play hard ball when re-negotiating.

All the loans I applied for ran soft inquiries and had big "won't affect your credit" disclaimers on them so I should be fine there. I might see about going to one of my personal banks. Only problem is the loan is useless if I get a shit rate. I really need like $15 or less to make it really worth it

Just started a new job, getting double the cash that was originally discussed. More winning, folks. I for one am not tired of it yet. But I may be in another 8 years.

That's really awesome. Looking back in history, there are many great tactics that could be adapted to suite law enforcement today in many areas. Not just crowd control, but non lethal self defense in an adapted version of Kenjutsu(Japanese swordsmanship), or Vietcong guerilla tactics(here is an interesting link regarding the Vietcong).

Furthermore, I am sure that elite military and law enforcement teams such as SWAT and the SEALs would benefit greatly from taking tactics from the past and making a version that works for them.

The dialogue is bad there, but the truth of the matter is that this is how women would talk if they were frank. Of course women don't like to train their Betas into becoming more Alpha, but her statements were correct. In addition you have the usual shit-test about him having a terrible name.

I've run into a single specimen in my entire life that actually did that. Was actually my first bang/real girlfriend when I was still quite young. She actually pumped up my ego from its deflated state such that I actually realized how manipulative she was and escaped from her. I still was at the point in my life that I felt guilty about dumping a girl, and moped around for a few months before I was banging a very sweet college freshman.

The dialogue there is very stilted and seems like they never reshot it.
