English - check, Spanish - begginer but about to hit it hard an try to learn more, Mandarin - i can say like 4 things (my first chinese flag didnt even hardly speak engrish but that didnt stop me, whaaaat a flag it was to!!!)

im still torn on what language i wanna learn for my third one, i think ima travel around an figure it out when i find somewhere that really makes me wanna learn the language an spend serious time there... China was great but not it... im headed to the Philippines in 9 days, soon i will hit up eastern europe an by then i should know

Depends what you like, some people have narrow preferences.

If you like asian girls then with mandarin, japanese.
If you like african/black girls then head on french, portuguese.
If you like arab type of girls then arabic/turkish
If you like white blonde girls then english, because the blondest the country is in europe the best they speak english
If you like dark white girls then with spanish and italian you might do well
If you like eastern europeans then head to russian and polish
If you like hispanic/south american girls spanish language is enough.

English is of course mandatory in every category to have as the base language.

Now if dont have preferences and have to narrow it down to fewer languages? I would pick English, spanish, mandarin, arabic, french and Russian to cover up 99% of the world.

The problem with arabic is that there's loads of dialects some of which are said to be mutually unintelligible. So if you learn to speak arabic in lebanon you might not be able to talk to moroccans.

I don't know the language, but I've spent time with a fluent speaker in the country. The language is fucking difficult to learn, but opens you up to hundreds of millions of women that you otherwise wouldn't be able to communicate with, in a country that generally digs white dudes.

I believe an english teacher in Chengdu posted a datasheet that raved about the pussy. Might want to check that out.

-Spanish
-Portuguese
-Russian

If you have yellow fever, go to the Philippines and clean up, or make due with what you can get in East Asia with just english. With the time you spend learning Mandarin Chinese, you could learn a couple European languages.

Just remember how savants used to study languages a few centuries ago. They used to spend countless hours burried in dictionaries and readers. Sir Richard Burton had no programs like Pimsleur or Rosetta Stone yet he managed to learn Arabic and a bunch of other exotic languages on his own.

Learning a language is just like learning game: there's no shortcurt... practice a lot and your efforts will be ultimately rewarded.

There is a huge misconception about Chinese ( Mandarin ) being a very difficult language to learn. I taught English in Shandong for a while and learnt basic Mandarin very quickly as did my colleagues. I can tell you that for the needs of the average gamer it is actually very simple,much more so then Russian ( a language I have spent years studying ) for example.

Facts about learning Mandarin for gaming women in China:

Manadarin is a very simple language in it's grammatical structure. There is very little grammar to confuse you. Once you know ten words you can form a perfectly formed sentence with those words. Try that in German,Hungarian or Russian which use the case system!

Forget the reading and writing. You need to know about 2000 characters just to read a newspaper article and that will take a long time and a lot of study. However for gaming women you don't need to read or write. It never held me back.

The only thing that makes Mandarin tricky ( not difficult but tricky ) is the tonal system. Every word must be spoken with the correct tone ( just like Thai for example ) to be properly understood. Don't worry though as it is quite easy to remember them and even if you get them wrong context usually makes you understood. If I was told I had 6 months to get conversational in a language or be castrated,I'd go for Mandarin.

Why Mandarin does not necesarily open you up to as many women as you think: China is vast and diverse. Every district has it's own dialect and pretty much every province it's own language. In big cities you will find Putonghua speakers but get outside and people will speak Mongolian,Nanai,Dongxiang,Uygur,Tibetan,Aynu etc. I met plenty of Chinese who spoke worse Mandarin them myself once south of Shanghai,and plenty who spoke non.

Having said that you can have some great times in China with the women,I absolutely loved my time there and the women were a massive part of that. My favourites were Sichuanese girls,like little porcelain dolls,great times!!!! You don't have to go far to be in a town where they have NEVER seen a foreigner before and you can play the super star. You want to be followed down the road by 200 people watching what you do? Go to China. Want to be interviewed on local tv when you arrive in a new town? Go to China. It's a mad,mad experience. In the end it got too much and the constant shouts of "laowei,laowei!" when you walk down the road can make you want to punch people. But it's true that the women like foreign men. Also they don't care about race.black,white,yellow. The guys at our school who did best were our two Pakistani teachers,fuckers had no game yet cleaned up with their looks.

Maybe I'll do a data sheet some time.

Back to the OP's question: As has been said before,the best language is the one that you are interested in. I love the FSU so learnt Russian. I have no interest in South America and hence Spanish/Portugese would be a waste of my time.

A question for all you French speakers out there.

I'm currently plowing through the Michel Thomas Russian course (which is very good by the way). I'm enjoying learning Russian immensely. The thing is, many years ago, I took French in High School, and as I'm learning Russian, I find that a lot of my long forgotten French is coming back to me. It's the strangest sensation, tapping into a well of knowledge that I never knew existed. I guess the process of learning a new language is re-awakening long dormant neural connections which I made when learning french. Who knows? Anyway, my questions is, has anybody tried to learn two languages at once? if so, how did it go?

Another question specifically for those who speak French. Do you find French has a particular social cachet that other languages don't have? Has it helped you in tangible ways in life or love? I think back to my high school years, and my small smattering of French drove my girlfriends at the time crazy (it helped that I have a good accent). So French- yay or nay?

Well, I'm no expert. I speak very very basic conversational Japanese. (or at least I used to somewhat).

Japanese is EASY to pronounce. Very simple sounds.
However, the intonation is flat...which means no accents or stress on words and syllables. To pronounce it, pretend like you a robot!

The grammar takes some getting used to...mainly because the word order is different but the grammar is consistent and not nearly as complicated as European (esp. Slavic) languages.

The words are much longer than Korean and Japanese and so it is easier to understand than those languages.

To get a good base in Japanese...master the Pimsleur lessons and practice with an online tutor...or better yet a live fine female tutor.

I myself am not a native french speaker but I believe I can provide an interesting point of view for your question. One thing I have noticed being a Canadian/American living in america is that the first thing a girl will ask me when she finds out i'm half Canadian is "do you speak french?"I have answered this two ways 1. the scared way by saying "no" due to the fact that its not my mother tongue. The reaction I get from this is immediate disappointment.2. "yea I can get by" their eyes light up. and the careful wording allows for you to easily explain to french people its not your mother tongue but you can get by. (they will not like it if you claim to speak french and don't really)

Obviously french will help you with french people as they are very proud of their language so speaking to them in it will give you an edge.


As for two languages at once.
In my opinion it is easily doable with French and Russian keeping in mind you need to use them regularly. I would recommend getting on italki and finding an informal Russian teacher for five bucks an hour and practicing everyday. And doing the same with french. However one thing to keep in mind with learning two languages is that you would get a lot farther in one by studying it independently. If you have three hours available to study its better to spend 3 on Russian rather than 1.5 Russian and 1.5 french.

So many fly girls who aren't even French speak French. White, Latin, African, Asian, Mid Eastern... I have tried my elementary French on them many times just because I like practicing languages, but my eager-to-practice-mediocre-French-game isn't really a winner so far.
