I don't know why anyone would want to come to Philly, honestly. I've been here for four years for undergrad and grad school and I'm not very impressed, especially because I am from NY. Regardless, my entire game/pickup education has been happening here for about the past year and a half or so and I have a lot of useful advice to offer about logistics and different nightlife locations.

DAY GAME

I am not entirely sure what you will be doing if you are in Philly but I assume the majority of people here will be there for a 9-5 job or for school. Center City Philadelphia is very good for day game, although the general attractiveness of girls is not that great compared to NY.

Good spots to hit up:

Anywhere between Broad Street and 23rd Street, on Market, Chestnut, Walnut, Sansom, and Locust streets. That is sort of a rectangular grid with a width of 5 blocks and a length of about 10.

Target rich locations:

H and M: 16th and Chestnut, 19th and Walnut
Any retail store on Walnut Street between Broad and 20th Street
Rittenhouse Square (20th and Walnut)
Liberty Place Mall (15th and Chestnut)
DiBruno Brothers Grocery Store (15th and Chestnut)
Macys (13th and Chestnut)
Reading Terminal Market (12th and Market)
Barnes and Noble (20th and Walnut)

Those were my usual spots that I would hit up. Generally I would go direct in one of these stores and then when I hit it off I would take them to the nearest Cosi or Starbucks. There are a whole bunch of them on Walnut street so you can just keep walking with her on Walnut until you hit one for the instadate. I lived in center city so I was able to take girls home after my instadate on a couple occasions but never got a same day lay.

NIGHT GAME

SCHOOLS

There are three different areas I went to in Philly throughout my stay there. I went to school in West Philadelphia, which is considered betweeen 30th and 50th street on the blocks JFK Blvd, Market, Chestnut, and Walnut street.

There are some college type bars here. Popular joints are Blarney Stone (38th and Sansom), Cavanaughs (38th and Sansom), MarBar (40th and Walnut), Smokey Joes (40th and Walnut), and Copabanana (40th and Spruce). It is kind of a trip out though, if you are living in center city.

OLDE CITY

Olde city is an entirely different creature. You get a lot of trashy types such as aggressive douchebag guido guys (my new haircut) and girls with super high bitch shields. The good thing is that there are lots of super hot girls walking around everywhere.

Venues:

Bleu Martini - this is one of my favorite spots that gets very crowded on weekends. They try to market themselves as one of the classier joints but there is no cover so anyone can get in. 3rd and Market.

Cuba Libre - you better be able to salsa. Super hot latin girls everywhere, but all dancing with their Antonio Banderases. 3rd and Market.

MINT - Asians. Asians Asians Asians. They started charging cover now so people are going there less although if Asians are your thing this is where you go. 3rd and Chestnut.

Cafe Spice - Indians. The only time I have seen a non Indian in there was this one night that was all Black people. I don't like this joint that much.

Mad River - Think Irish pub. Two floors, decent music, lots of dancing but not hip hop music....more like danceable pop and rock and eighties stuff. Not really my scene although there are definitely some cute girls that go here. There are also some beasts though, so beware.

Drinkers - I love this place. It's such a dive however it's really easy to talk to girls and there are always fantastic drink specials.

CENTER CITY

Center City nightlife revolves mostly around the same place I said above where you should be day gaming.

Venues:

Denim - this is arguably considered the classiest and poshest place in center city, although it really isn't shit. Nothing in Philly is anything to call home about. Walnut between 17th and 18th street. It's a second floor bar with two floors and is generally too packed.

Continental - I love this place. It's a restaurant on the first two floors and a bar on the top with an outdoor patio and tables to sit, drink, smoke, and eat. It's very much a good place to go pick up girls and these girls are a less aggressive and classier breed than the ones you find in old city. Also, guys are going to be less AMOGish.

VANGO - 19th and Sansom. I love this place too. Very international crowd, lots of eastern european beauties, fine caramel colored women and then also regular white girls. Music is good but drinks get pricey. There is an upstairs patio where you can smoke and chat it up. They have latin salsa nights on Wednesdays.

PEARL - Along with denim, considered one of the more posh places. This place usually has really hot girls too. It's sort of set up like a restaurant and it's always a lot of fun for me, although insanely expensive drinks. Good music but it's too loud to talk to girls.

DRINKRES - There is another drinkers pub across the street from Pearl. Both are at the corner of 19th and Chestnut. This place is awesome too but way too packed.

Great report. Not a fan of the Philly bashing though (although you then proceed to say you love a bunch of places in Philly, lol). Of course it doesn't stack up to NYC. That would be akin to comparing a millionaire's new worth to that of a billionaire. No other American city does, save Chicago. Fact remains that Philadelphia slaughters the vast majority of American cities for game. Great logistics (very walkable, strong public transit), large population, and loads of foot traffic. Outside of NYC and Chicago, Philly is as good as it gets when it comes to daygame.

My impression of Philly, having passed through a few times, is that you'd burn the city down within a couple of weeks if you keep hitting the good areas. Can someone confirm or deny?
